Using mythology, archetypal symbolism, and a wealth of case histories, this study provides new material and insight into the many facets of this major, transformative contact between the intimate and emotional Moon and the remote, deeply enigmatic Pluto. The story of Pluto-Moon contacts is the eternal saga of birth, death, and rebirth: abandonment and rejection; karma, transformation, and new life. No other planetary contact has such a depth of trauma, compulsion, and alienation. No other aspect has quite the same metamorphic and healing potential. Hall explains why Pluto-Moon aspects are so important, and gives a description of the Hades Moon through the signs. She also explores the Pluto cycle, Pluto from incarnation to initiation, Pluto in the Houses, and Pluto transits and the Hades Moon. She explores the emotional issues of alienation, abandonment, rejection, and adoption, delves into the archetype of the dark mother and shows how to trace enmeshed family patterns. Throughout the book, Hall offers information about flower essences and techniques that can help people handle Hades Moon energy.

The American Ephemeris 1950-2050 at Midnight, The Trans-Century Edition, is published in response to multiple requests for a one hundred year ephemeris covering these "most useful years." With the years 1950 through 2050, only one ephemeris needs to be at hand, especially when traveling, for an astrologer to do quick lookups of both birth data and transiting data over the expected life span of most people currently living. Since the 1976 publication of the first version of The American Ephemeris, 1931-1980, Neil F. Michelsen's ground-breaking series of ephemerides for astrologers have consistently set standards for accuracy in astrology, becoming indispensible to astrologers worldwide at every level from student to professional. The tradition continues with the addition of this new tropical ephemeris spanning from mid 20th century through mid 21st century. Rique Pottenger has revised and expanded the Michelsen programming with updated Jet Propulsion Laboratory data and improvements in the computer generating program that, for example, enable finding double ingresses in a single day, plus more accurate station times. A new formula increases the accuracy of the Galactic Center calculation. Other new features have been added, the most obvious of which are the dwarf planets Ceres and Eris, in response to the 2006 decisions of the International Astronomical Union. Monthly positions have also been added for the remaining three of the former four major asteroids in wide use among astrologers, Pallas, Juno and Vesta, and also for the centaur, Chiron.
A wise and fascinating exploration of the nature of the healing experience as delineated in the horoscope, in particular through the archetypal pattern of the Wounded Healer or Shaman. An indispensible book for anyone wanting to understand the symbolism and meaning of the recently discovered Kuiper Belt object called Chiron. Extensive mythological, cultural and historical references enrich this book, the first edition of which received critical acclaim from practising astrologers world wide, and became established as a classic text in its field. This major revision contains a wealth of entirely new material, and an elaboration of themes previously included.
This classic, which has sold over 600,000 copies to date, offers a guide to astrological history, legend, and practice. This book is now fully revised, updated, and translated for the first time into Spanish. Its simple computer-accurate planetary tables allow anyone born between 1900 and 2100 to pinpoint quickly their sun and moon signs, discover their ascendants, and map out the exact positions of the planets at the time of their birth.
Whether you're a beginning student or a practicing professional, Horoscope Symbols takes you beyond your present conception of astrology into a whole new realm of understanding. Horoscope Symbols takes the beginner beyond cookbook interpretations to genuine insight, beyond superficial keywords to the fundamental principles that underlie astrology, beyond overemphasis on signs to the primacy of planets and angles. Although Hand assumes little prior knowledge of astrology, the more you know, the more you will get out of this book. Hand takes the expert beyond the fatalism of tradition to a deep understanding of the role of personal choice in the life of the individual, beyond fortune telling to the true source of human experience.

Mainstream science has long dismissed astrology as a form of primitive superstition, despite or perhaps even because of its huge popular interest. From daily horoscopes to in-depth and personalized star forecasts, astrology, for many, plays a crucial role in the organization of everyday life. Present-day scholars and scientists remain baffled as to why this pseudo-science exercises such control over supposedly modern, rational and enlightened individuals, yet so far they have failed to produce any meaningful analysis of why it impacts on so many lives and what lies behind its popular appeal. Moving beyond scientific scepticism, Astrology, Science and Culture finally fills the gap by probing deeply into the meaning and importance of this extraordinary belief system. From the dawn of pre-history, humankind has had an intimate connection with the stars. With its roots in the Neolithic culture of Europe and the Middle East, astrology was traditionally heralded as a divinatory language. Willis and Curry argue that, contrary to contemporary understanding including that of most astrologers astrology was originally, and remains, a divinatory practice. Tackling its rich and controversial history, its problematic relationship to Jungian theory, and attempts to prove its grounding in objective reality, this book not only persuasively demonstrates that astrology is far more than a superstitious relic of years gone by, but that it enables a fundamental critique of the scientism of its opponents. Groundbreaking in its reconciliation of astrologys ancient traditions and its modern day usage, this book impressively unites philosophy, science, anthropology, and history, to produce a powerful exploration of astrology, past and present.

Aleister Crowley, aka "The Beast", was a controversial figure and an almost evangelical proponent of occult studies. One little known fact is that he was the ghostwriter for two of Evangeline Adams' most popular astrology books, which have informed nearly all astrological studies in the 20th century. This book is a reconstruction of the original manuscript submitted by Crowley. His goal was to abandon traditional assumptions, and so he based his findings on actual charts and how they were expressed in people's lives. This new edition should be of great interest to those interested in astrology in general and Crowley in particular.
Your birth chart is a snapshot of the sky taken at the moment and place of your birth, one that reflects your character, personality, strengths, and challenges. But the moment after that picture was taken, the planets moved on--some quickly, some very slowly. Astrologers call the moving planets "transits," and by comparing their movements to your birth chart you can gain a complete view of how best to prepare for challenges, meet opportunities, and stay grounded in a constantly-changing world. In Astrological Transits, astrologer April Elliott Kent will guide you through the best ways to make the most of your birth chart. Learn how to make the most of good transits and harness and transform the energy of "bad" ones. You'll also understand planetary cycles and anticipate your own transits. Finally, you'll know how to read planetary return charts, work with planetary retrogrades, and use eclipses to recognize major patterns and turning points in your life. If you are comfortable reading a birth chart, you are ready to move your chart into the future using transits. Instructions, tables, and worksheets will make tracking your transit cycles simple and exciting!
In-depth meanings of the zodiac symbols are revealed, making for a richer understanding of human nature Examining the degrees of the zodiac signs and planets has traditionally involved a dry, technical approach to astrological soul-searching. In this unique book, Ellias Lonsdale encourages personal growth by illuminating the meanings of the signs' degrees. Working in a tradition begun by Marc Edmund Jones's Sabian Symbols and Dane Rudhyar's An Astrological Mandala, Lonsdale fleshes out the symbols and imagery of the degrees with his introduction of the Chandra symbols. These vividly suggestive images, described by shamanic language, raise the level of analysis possible with degrees to a rich, metaphorical tapestry. Inside Degrees reinvigorates the zodiac with emotional intensity and primal understanding. Because each degree is one-thirtieth a sign -- one episode of an epic tale -- the depth and detail of charting one's character grows tremendously. Lonsdale's book is far more that typical astrology; it is "inner" astrology. Applied with the techniques detailed in Lonsdale's earlier book, Inside Planets, this new work will increase comprehension of one's personal nature.
A guide to discovering and developing the spiritual and mystical talents hidden in your astrological chart * Explores the 4th, 8th, and 12th houses of the natal astrological chart-those connected with the water signs, the deepest and darkest areas of the individual psyche, profound spiritual insights, and hidden knowledge * Explains how to interpret the signs and planets in the water houses of your birth chart, including how to develop the innate talents and spiritual powers you discover * Reveals the occult and psychic significance of water and shows how this significance is expressed in each of the three water signs: Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces, the rulers of the water houses Your astrological birth chart, or natal chart, shows the positions of the planets, sun, and moon at the time of your birth. Shaped like a circle or wheel, it is divided into 12 sections, or "houses," each connected with a different area of life or self. The positions of the planets within the houses offer deep and often complex insight into your unique gifts and your life's path. In Astrology for Mystics, Tayannah Lee McQuillar explores the 4th, 8th, and 12th houses--those connected with the element of water and all things occult, mystical, and spiritual. The fourth house, ruled by water sign Cancer, is traditionally the house of family, home, ancestors, and suffering. The eighth house, ruled by water sign Scorpio, is the house of sex, death, secret powers, and transformation. The twelfth house, ruled by Pisces, is the house of karma, loss, unspoken expectations, fantasy, and confinement. As McQuillar explains, these are the houses that reveal the deepest and darkest areas of the individual psyche, which many people are reluctant to explore, yet this triad is the key to profound spiritual insights as well as the discovery of hidden knowledge and abilities. The author guides you through interpreting the signs and planets that inhabit the water houses in your natal chart and shows how they reveal specific innate talents. She describes how to develop the hidden powers revealed by your chart and offers practical advice for incorporating this knowledge into your daily life for spiritual growth and self-improvement. Sharing interpretation examples from her practice, she also explores how to embrace the challenge of the occult water houses so you can claim the many treasures that can only be found on the ocean floor of the psyche.
