2014 Reprint of 1920s Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition. Undated short pamphlet by Carey printed in the 1920s. George Washington Carey (1845-1924) was an American physician known for his 'chemistry of life' publications, a subject which he referred to as biochemistry. Carey combined a mixture of religion, astrology, physiology, anatomy, and chemistry, themed particularly with a mineral-based theory of human disease to explain his views on human chemistry. He continues to be popular within new-age and homeopathic circles. In the context of a person viewed as a "human molecule," Carey was the first to state that a person's body is a "chemical formula in operation." This very short essay is a statement of the principles of his philosophy of the cell salts.
This is a new release of the original 1936 edition.
Unabridged edition to include: Introduction (What Jehovah, Eve, David & John say) Parts I (Wonders and Possibilities of the Human Body) II (The Bridge of Life) III (Optic Thalmus), and a Vision of Immortality at book's end -
The mere mention of the word `teenager' can strike fear into the heart of the bravest soul, and yet there are some truly heroic individuals who make it a life-long mission to teach them. Alex Trenoweth is one such teacher. She also happens to be an astrologer. Her official subjects are Religious Studies, History and English, but from reading 'Growing Pains' you will quickly find that her true passion is the actual students themselves. Using the cycles of Jupiter and Saturn she untangles the confusing conundrum of why groups of students are so different from each other year on year, and sometimes even within year groups. How is an already over-worked teacher supposed to cope with this ongoing challenge? Alex Trenoweth has the answer.
Follow master astrologer Steven Forrest on an astrological journey into the realm of both darkness and the powers that can transform it: the planetary body Pluto. Whether officially named a planet or not, astrologers everywhere agree that Pluto is a major force. With this groundbreaking work, Steven emerged as one of the foremost voices merging astrological practice with the most courageous forms of humanistic psychology. Upon its initial publication, DELL Horoscope magazine described him as "not only a premier astrologer, but also a wise man." Written with both the astrologer and the layperson in mind, his words convey practical and useful information that will help anyone navigate Pluto's labyrinthine passages. Along with detailed cookbook-style explanations of Pluto in the houses and signs, the reader will also find comprehensive information for working with transits and progressions. This book is your one-stop shop for all things Plutonian. But most of all, it's a beacon of light in some famously dark terrain, pointing the reader towards the transformative gifts Pluto can bear, if we choose to face our lives with consciousness and compassion. This revised second edition includes new Introduction and Afterword.
Horary astrology is a fascinating and exacting technique, and here is the perfect book to hone your skills. Author Petros Eleftheriadis presents over fifty valid charts taken from his client files which demonstrate, in clear steps, how to reach an answer. He stresses the importance of starting with the correct question; for instance, he doesn't accept 'Should I?' questions, saying 'Astrology charts cannot possibly show something that will NEVER materialize, something that will never become reality, so they cannot show how your life would be, had you made another decision.' So rather than asking whether you will win the lottery if you buy a ticket, the correct action would be to buy the ticket and then ask if you will win. Ideal for students and professionals with some knowledge of horary astrology.
For centuries, the Tong Shu (Chinese Almanac) has been used as the definitive guide for selecting good dates for important activities. Often, no important activity would be undertaken without first glancing at the Tong Shu to determine an auspicious day for it, or at the very least, to ensure that it was not being done on a bad day. Date selection ensures the success and effectiveness of a particular activity or endeavour. The 2013 Tong Shu Calendar is adapted from Joey Yap's Annual Tong Shu Diary. The highlights of this easy-to-use calendar: Daily Guide to Suitable and Unsuitable Activities for 2013; Guide to Feng Shui Afflictions and Influences for 2013; Monthly Astrology Guide for all 12 Animal Signs; Monthly Flying Stars Feng Shui Guide; Daily Flying Stars Feng Shui; All-in-One Chinese Solar, Lunar and Western Gregorian Calendar for 2013.
Many spiritual traditions single out as critical the epoch we are living in right now. The ancient prophets of India and Mesoamerica no less than our own contemporary scientists have identified these times as a tipping point. In this extraordinary collection of essays, Jessica Murray uses the symbolism of Western astrology to throw this daunting world moment into perspective. At the Crossroads pulls no punches in its discussion of the global realities that make our era so intense, elucidating the role we play as individuals. As she uncovers the deeper meaning of world-altering events, Murray shows how even the most daunting in them can be used to inspire the unique genius in every one of us.
This is the new and expanded version of Day-Signs, originally published in 1991. In this edition there are some content and organizational changes in the introductory chapters, the listings of people born under each of the day-signs has been expanded, and the day-sign look-up tables now go to 2029. The original delineations of the 20 day-signs remain at the heart of the book, and these have been updated to include the author's latest insights. They are the first ever to be described in psychological terms, and the only ones produced by the analysis of over 400 examples. For those interested in astrology, it may come as a surprise to learn that the Maya and Aztecs of ancient Mexico and Central America had developed a comprehensive system of signs and cycles, very little of which has survived in the indigenous population to the present day. Tantalizing pieces of this astrological system do exist but there are many parts missing. One thing is known, however, and that is the central role of the 20 named days called day-signs. It is the reconstruction and reinterpretation of these symbolic images that is the subject of this book. The 20 day-signs are like a zodiac - a cycle of development that moves through various stages from origin to completion. Each of the day-signs has distinct qualities and as the 20 signs cycle through the calendar dates, they move with a secondary cycle of 13 numbers that deepen meanings. Finally, after 13 cycles of the 20 day-signs and 20 cycles of the 13 numbers, the larger cycle, called the Tzolkin by the Maya and Tonalpouhalli by the Aztecs, begins again. This 260-day cycle is at the core of the ancient astrology of the Americas and an understanding of it is a prerequisite to comprehending the other components of the system. Here, in this book, is a modern interpretation of each of the signs, translated from an ancient mindset into the shared reality of the present. Even though the rediscovery of ancient native American astrology is far from complete, readers will be fascinated that significant variations in personality, discovered in a strange culture a long time ago, are just as relevant today.
Called a "path breaker" among astrology books, with original research and in-depth coverage, the author combines non-technical and technical material very effectively in a compelling narrative. This book contains a riveting choice of biographies and historical, cultural events that illuminate both individual AND collective destinies. When Vedic astrology - the astrology of India - is combined with biography, history, politics, the arts and culture, a key missing component is provided to all of the above. In Search of Destiny is for astrologers, astrology students as well as for the layperson. The only criterion is an interest and openness to astrology. Find out how the planets affect individuals and whole nations and societies, and how the chart of a national leader is never separate from the nation ruled - for as long as he or she is in power. An extensive glossary, footnotes and index help the reader to navigate through the wide-ranging information provided in this book. For the novice, Chapter 2 provides a succinct summary of Vedic astrology and philosophy. Vedic charts are presented in both North and South Indian format, with the lifetime planetary cycles of the Vimshottari Dasha system - for which Vedic astrology is so famous. Any astrologer will benefit from the depth of research done here, and the layperson will find this a user-friendly book that broadens the horizons. "Edith Hathaway's remarkable new book In Search of Destiny is an astrological sensation on many levels. ...A narrative of individual dharma woven in the context of collective destiny.... Her innovative research of the 20-year Jupiter/Saturn cycles over a 1000-year period bears rich historical and thematic fruit... and includes her current and future predictions. I highly recommend In Search of Destiny ..." Dennis Flaherty, Vedic astrologer, President of CVA (Council of Vedic Astrology), Washington, USA.

"Adam Gainsburg s work is an alchemy of intelligence and imagination that opens a brilliant pathway to take astrology from a cerebral, psychological study, more deeply into the full art of being human. As an astrologer, discovering Adam Gainsburg s work was a bit like discovering a new wing in my well-loved house. I believe he has created a new mythology of Venus. - Mary Plumb, Book Editor, The Mountain Astrologer "Adam Gainsburg listened to the sky and the sky did something it very rarely does: it revealed to him a new secret. Read The Light of Venus and you will know the secret too. - Steven Forrest, author of The Inner Sky The Light of Venus explores in great detail the phases occurring in the cycle of Venus and] reveals the importance of seeing each specific placement in the horoscope as embedded in a network of interplanet cycles and holographic connections. - Melanie Reinhart, author of Chiron and the Healing Journey
Employing a practical, mathematical approach, author Kenneth Coombs presents a scientific and comprehensive analysis of the twenty-two Tarot cards in the Major Arcana. This detailed examination deciphers the reactions and interactions of the Tarot cards with each other, rather than simply the individual meanings of each card. He shares the results of the 231 possible combinations. In Tarot Alchemy, Coombs, a chemist with more than thirty years of Tarot card reading experience, discusses a novel approach to understanding Tarot. He details the process of alchemy, which involves looking at each Tarot card as an element. The interactions of the Tarot cards are like reactions that create molecules, and it is the interactions of the Tarot cards with each other that give depth and enlightenment in a Tarot reading. This process has given him the ability to determine specific timeframes and even names of people and places using the cards. His approach of deciphering the interactions in a scientific way leads to new insights about the meanings of the Tarot cards in a reading. Tarot Alchemy shows how learning to find patterns in the cards strengthens intuitive abilities and unlocks the doors to understanding the Tarot cards.
'Astrological Chart Calculations' preserves and teaches the methods of the most basic astrological chart calculations and tells the story of its history. It addresses the disconnection between the actual process of mapping the sky and the arithmetic that is required to calculate a horoscope, a process required by some astrological certification exams. It presents the key concepts behind the celestial sphere, the keeping of time, the development of trigonometry and the nature of house systems. It is a general reference useful to any student of astrology, and anyone who has a reasonable grasp of algebra and geometry should be able to follow the explanations and worked calculations. It is hoped that a deeper knowledge of this traditional art of astrology, that is the challenge of mapping the sky and the mathematics of preparing a chart, will allow students to glean not only deeper insights into the subject, but also a unique contact with astrology's long history.
Horary Astrology and the Judgment of Events is the result of the author's thirty years of using horary methods in her professional practice. Properly used, horary astrology can warn us of dangers and analyze events with uncanny accuracy. Despite it's usefulness, it has been neglected in modern times because, as traditionally taught, the system was too cluttered with medieval dogmas to appeal to the modern mind. In this book, Barbara Watters has achieved a true breakthrough. She has reexamined the horary system, stripped it of medieval superstition, and translated the ancient methods into modern terms. Using actual questions and events, she gives a step-by-step analysis of this method of solving problems and making decisions about real estate, travel, investments, business, employment, health, missing people, court trials, and many other matters. She also explains how to use the horary method to judge the outcome of national and political events, a field in which her predictions have been amazingly accurate. Introductory chapters focus on signs and rulers, the old planets, the new planets, strictures against judgment, the houses, turning the radical chart, timing events in the horary chart, the aspects, placing events in the horary chart, and additional considerations that affect the judgment of events.

Whether as muse, silver goddess, nourishing mother, priestess, maid, siren or witch, the influence of the Moon on our personality and perception is one of the least understood factors in our daily lives. Luna has fascinated, inspired, and frightened us since the dawn of human history yet She of the Three Faces is the clue to our most emotional and instinctive selves. This new work by Paul F. Newman probes the subtle meanings of habit and the irrational that the astrological Moon conveys and how we can comprehend it and make use of it for our benefit and security. The triple aspect of Luna is treated as paramount with examples of the effect of New Moon, Full Moon and Old Moon in the monthly round. There is also a new way of grasping the consequence of New and Full Moons according to their declinational hemisphere, and the difference between summer and winter moons. While all computational aspects of the Moon are covered (phases, cycles, moon mansions, progressed moons, magic squares etc.) along with the meaning of how these things affect us, it is the poetic side of Luna that equally informs our approach. A substantial part of the book also covers the Black Moon Lilith, (the Moon at apogee), with new insights into this lady of noire and her astrological resonance. From the fall of dew to the markings on a cheetah's eyes, there is more to the Moon than we know...
The Nativity of the Late King Charles, written by the astrologer John Gadbury only ten years after the King's execution in 1649 and towards the end of England's only time as a republic, is a fascinating glimpse not only into the history of a divided and revolutionary era but also in the manner that a 17th century astrologer set about his craft. Walking the fine diplomatic line between presenting Charles I as neither tyrant nor martyr, Gadbury addresses his astrology-versed readers in the delightfully humble yet florid language of his day. Constantly begging our forgiveness for his presumption in examining the horoscopes of the illustrious, he doesn't shirk in delivering a suitably barbed comment when it's due. Above all it is illuminating to see how the interpretation of an astrological chart has changed so very little since 1659. Via John Gadbury, humanity, history and astrology have spanned the centuries to reach us today.
Pandit Bhambi's earlier book Vedic Sun Signs deals in detail with the personality characteristics of people born under each Vedic Sun Sign and each of the Sun nakshatras. In this book, he has used this system to bring an accurate picture of the coming year for the twelve sun signs. In addition to the forecasts of different areas of one's life. Pandit Bhambi has also given the unique "Yukti" for each month under each Sun Sign. Yukti is practical in nature and something that can be done to prepare oneself for what life has to offer. It is different from the upayas which are done after an event takes place. The second section of this book is on Love Signs; the combination of each Vedic Sun Sign with all the other twelve Sun Signs. Readers will be fascinated to note the distinctive characteristics brought out by Pandit Bhambi. He provides the reader with a vivid picture bringing our effectively the nuances in a relationship which would help in building a deeper understanding. He brings out the uniqueness in relationships based on the combinations of the various Sun Signs. The readers will get an insight and a novel perspective of the behavioural characteristics of their partner on reading this section.
