A CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC. This in-depth study of the minor planet
Chiron traces the development of the archetype of the Shaman, or
Wounded Healer, which accompanies the soul's journey of awakening.
It also demonstrates how this theme is reflected in the
astronomical picture, and in turn revealed in the individual
horoscope. Chiron's story in Greek mythology is explored and
illuminated with skilled interpretation, and there are two large
sections detailing Chiron's symbolism and meaning through the signs
and houses, and aspecting the planets. The chapter on transits
describes the profound process which Chiron signals as it moves
around the horoscope over time. This book is essential reading for
anyone seeking to shed light on the astrological symbolism and
meaning of Chiron. Chiron was discovered in 1977 as a celestial
anomaly, but is now in a class of its own. In the early 1990s,
exciting discoveries within astronomical science revealed a new
category of objects, named the Centaurs'. Chiron is considered the
major representative of this group which comprises short-orbit
comets that cross the paths of the planets from Jupiter to Pluto.
The symbolism of this is perfect, as Chiron stands for that
luminous thread of consciousness which links the inner and outer
dimensions of our human experience, helping us to make sense of our
suffering in a deeply personal way, and thus to release our
attachment to it. This book is a classic of original thinking,
inspiration, depth of astrological experience and careful research.
It has more than stood the test of time, and is appreciated by an
ever-growing number of astrologers who focus on the soul's
unfoldment through life experience, bitter or sweet. This book has
addressed and accompanied the healing journey of many thousands of
people all over the world. REVISION This edition of 'Chiron and the
Healing Journey' represents a major revision of the best-selling
previous editions, first published in 1989 and 1999 by Arkana, and
in April 2010 in paperback by Starwalker Press. Changes include an
entirely new section on the astronomy of Chiron, and how it is
reflected in the mythology. The final section 'Spirit of the Age'
has been rewritten to address more precisely our contemporary
concerns. There is much new case material illustrating Chiron in
the horoscope, and the reader is also briefly introduced to other
Minor Planets in the same category as Chiron. The mythological base
has also been expanded, and there is an in-depth exploration of the
'Chiron Return' which occurs at age 50, representing a major 'rite
of passage' for everyone.
Since the 1976 publication of his first version of The American
Ephemeris, 1931-1980, Neil F. Michelsen's ground-breaking series of
ephemerides have consistently set standards for accuracy in
astrology, becoming indispensable to astrologers worldwide at every
level from student to professional. The tradition continues with
this Revised & Expanded Third Edition of The American Ephemeris
for the 21st Century, 2000-2050 at Noon. Revisions and additions
are programmed by Rique Pottenger, who became head programmer for
ACS Publications after Michelsen's passing. Additions and
improvements include new Jet Propulsion Laboratory data and
programming refinements that enable finding double ingresses in a
single day plus more accurate station times. A new formula
increases the accuracy of the Galactic Center. Phenomena in the
Astro Data section are now sorted by time as well as by date, and R
appears with Planetary Ingress Data if a planet is retrograde when
it ingresses. The most notably obvious additions in this new
edition include the dwarf planet Ceres in daily longitude listings
between Mars and Jupiter, and monthly positions are given for Eris,
Chiron, Pallas, Juno and Vesta.
This Second Edition of the highly popular and best-selling The Only
Way to Learn Astrology series continues the traditions of Volumes 1
and 2 by presenting refinements of astrological interpretation, as
well as the actual process of "putting it all together" into a
meaningful, informative analysis. Part I, liberally sprinkled
throughout with horoscopes of many famous and fascinating
personalities, takes you through the 144 possible placements of
house rulers-valuable information that is otherwise difficult to
find in contemporary astrological literature. Part II presents
examples of depth analysis using the horoscopes of four prominent
individuals. Part III covers special, specific areas of delineation
such as health, vocation, personal appearance, marriage and more.

The Journal for Star Wisdom is a guide to the correspondences of
Christ in the stellar and etheric world. It includes related
articles of interest, a complete sidereal ephemeris and
aspectarian, geocentric and heliocentric. Published yearly, new
editions are available beginning in November for the coming new
year.
According to Rudolf Steiner, every step taken by Christ during
his ministry between the baptism in the Jordan and the resurrection
was in harmony withand an expression ofthe cosmos. The Journal for
Star Wisdom is concerned with these heavenly correspondences during
the life of Christ. It is intended to help provide a foundation for
cosmic Christianity, the cosmic dimension of Christianity. It is
this dimension that has been missing from Christianity in its
two-thousand-year history.
This first volume comprehensively charts Western astrology from
30,000 BCE up to the 17th century, with particular focus on its
magical, political and apocalyptic movements and use in everyday
life throughout history. This is the first comprehensive
examination of astrology's origins and examines the foundations of
a major feature of popular culture in the contemporary west, one
which has its origins in the ancient world. Campion explores the
relationship between astrology and religion, magic and science, and
explores its use in politics and the arts in a fascinating and
readable fashion. The book's scope and depth is greater than any
other comparable text. Beginning with theories of the origins of
religion in sun-worship, it spans the period between the first
Paleolithic lunar counters around 30,000BC and the end of the
classical world and rise of Christianity. Campion challenges the
idea that astrology was invented by the Greeks, and asks whether
its origins lie in Near-Eastern religion, or whether it can be
considered a decadent Eastern import to the west. He considers the
evidence for reverence for the stars in Neolithic culture,
Mesopotamian astral divination, Egyptian stellar religion, and
examines attitudes to astrology and celestial prophecy in the
Bible. He considers such artifacts as the mysterious,
fifteen-thousand year-old "Venus of Lauselle", the reasons for the
orientation of the pyramids, the latest theories on Stonehenge as a
sacred observatory, Greek theories of the ascent of the soul to the
stars and the Roman emperor Nero's use of astrology to persecute
his rivals.
This annual publication gives the longitudes of all the planets for
each day and their latitudes and declinations for every other day,
and includes tables of houses for London, Liverpool and New York.
Available in late June 2009- the ultimate ephemeris for the years
when all but the youngest among us were born. Neil F. Michelsen's
The American Ephemeris for the 20th Century, 1900-2000 at Noon, and
its companion volume for Midnight, became the most highly trusted
and widely used reference works for astrologers worldwide. Now
substantially revised, updated and expanded by Rique Pottenger, The
New American Ephemeris for the 20th Century, 1900-2000 at Noon,
Michelsen Memorial Edition, has improvements and refinements that
permit more accurate station times, a more accurate position for
the Galactic Center and more. Ceres is added to daily longitude
listings, Sun through Pluto, and monthly positions are provided for
Eris, Chiron, Pallas, Juno and Vesta.
A German Stargazer's Book of Astrology is the first English
translation of Astronomia Teutsch Astronomei, published in 1545 in
Frankfurt am Main. The original work was one of the earliest
astrological textbooks in the vernacular, predating William Lilly's
famous English primer Christian Astrology by over a decade. With
this translation, Peter Stockinger offers the English reader an
exciting insight into the working methods of a 16th century
astrologer living on the cusp of the Late Medieval and Early Modern
periods. The book contains a detailed introduction by the
translator, providing valuable background information and
historical context, and is comprehensively annotated throughout.
The translation contains, amongst many others, the following
chapters: -Of the Twelve Signs their Stars and Effects -Of Pictures
of the Heavenly Bodies (Constellations) -Of the Fixed Stars and
their Qualities -Of the Seven Planets -Of Eclipses and Comets
(Mundane astrology) -Of the Four Seasons (Weather astrology)
-Claudius Ptolemy's Perpetual Calendar
