Geodetic astrology literally means 'World' astrology. The Geodetic Equivalent concept was originally a house cusp structure calculated for any geographic location, and a natal chart inserted within it can be used for personal relocation in order to emphasise or alleviate specific points on that chart. The chart of an eclipse, lunation, or Great Conjunction can also be inserted within its cusp structure for mundane astrology, observing angular emphasis in forecasting. The concept has now been advanced to place the zodiac across a map of the world for a quick glance at where a planet's position or even an eclipse degree would have its greatest influence, pinpointing global "hot" spots for a notable event. It could indicate the escalation of political activity and societal tension, predict the potential of an earthquake or a volcanic eruption, or indicate extreme weather conditions due to shifts in ocean currents. This book is a fascinating compilation of the author's countless years of study in the application of both mundane astrology and personal relocation. It can be understood by any level of astrological student due to the many examples, stories and explanatory text and will no doubt provide inspiration for further research.
This study is the first to examine the important political role played by astrology in Italian court culture. Reconstructing the powerful dynamics existing between astrologers and their prospective or existing patrons, The Duke and the Stars illustrates how the "predictive art" of astrology was a critical source of information for Italian Renaissance rulers, particularly in times of crisis. Astrological "intelligence" was often treated as sensitive, and astrologers and astrologer-physicians were often trusted with intimate secrets and delicate tasks that required profound knowledge not only of astrology but also of the political and personal situation of their clients. Two types of astrological predictions, medical and political, were taken into the most serious consideration. Focusing on Milan, Monica Azzolini describes the various ways in which the Sforza dukes (and Italian rulers more broadly) used astrology as a political and dynastic tool, guiding them as they contracted alliances, made political decisions, waged war, planned weddings, and navigated health crises. The Duke and the Stars explores science and medicine as studied and practiced in fifteenth-century Italy, including how astrology was taught in relation to astronomy.
This annual publication gives the longitudes of all the planets for each day and their latitudes and declinations for every other day, and includes tables of houses for London, Liverpool and New York.
As students of Clare Martin, and readers of her two previous books, will recognise, Book 3, covering transits, returns, progressions and directions, is once again both immediately accessible and profound...A clear understanding of the process provides the reader with an opportunity to consciously align their lives with the movements of the heavens - to "willingly do that which I must do." In this way, the book offers not only a crystal clear exposition of astrological mechanics, but a genuine "map" for students to follow. It also excels as an invaluable reference source for experienced astrologers to cherish." Teresa Early, Dip.Psych.Astrol.
A magical trip around the zodiac with some perceptive and accessible astro-profiles of Pagan and Wiccan celebrities. An insightful read that goes beyond Sun signs with new birth charts coupled with biographical information plus many rarely seen photos. The era in which they lived did not have the same freedoms which many practitioners have today. These people blazed a trail for everyone.
"Inside Star Vision" is a landmark astrology book for the twenty-first century and centuries to come. It views human destiny and the life and death travels of individual souls as part of the larger journey undertaken by the universe itself in various modes of being and intelligence. Lonsdale not only leads us through signs, houses, and planets, but also interprets them in the context of broader archetypes and vision quests. He delineates the years 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006, and in a daring and profound act of spiritual writing, he sets the cosmic terms for the imminent transformation of humanity through an opening of the door between the two most separated realms of all, life and death.
Combining astrology, numerology, and pure psychic intuition, "The Secret Language of Birthdays" is a wholly unique compilation that reveals one's strengths, weaknesses, and major issues while providing practical advice on spiritual guidance. It is a must have for every library and anyone even remotely interested in the dynamics of personality.
