"Doctor De Soto, the dentist, did very good work." With the aid of
his able assistant, Mrs. De Soto, he copes with the toothaches of
animals large and small. His expertise is so great that his
fortunate patients never feel any pain.
Since he's a mouse, Doctor De Soto refuses to treat "dangerous"
animals--that is, animals who have a taste for mice. But one day a
fox shows up and begs for relief from the tooth that's killing him.
How can the kindhearted De Sotos turn him away? But how can they
make sure that the fox doesn't give in to his baser instincts once
his tooth is fixed? Those clever De Sotos will find a way.
A picture book biography celebrating the life and work of
disability rights activist and icon Judith Heumann, highlighting
one of her landmark achievements-leading the historic 504 Sit-in in
1977From a very young age, Judy Heumann heard the word NO. When she
wanted to attend public school, the principal said, "NO." When she
wanted her teaching license, the New York Board of Education said,
"NO." Judy and people with disabilities everywhere were tired of
hearing "NO."In the 1970s an important disability rights law,
Section 504 of The Rehabilitation Act of 1973, was waiting to be
signed. Judy and other disability rights activists fought for
"YES!" They held a sit-in until Section 504 was signed into law.
Section 504 laid the foundation for the Americans with Disabilities
Act, which was established thanks in large part to the ongoing work
of Judy and her community. Along with a personal reflection from
Judy herself, this picture book biography captures the impact and
influence of one of America's greatest living activists.

patterns, all of which evoke a strong sense of place." -Kirkus

Emma doesn't really like hurricanes. After a busy day of school and
activities, Emma likes to sit still and rest. Her little brother,
Henry, does everything but. She calls him The Lemonade Hurricane.
Henry is a lot of fun when he's not storming through the house so
Emma decides to teach him how to be still. By showing him how to
sit, bow and breathe, Emma is able to calm the hurricane within
Henry. The illustrations bring the story to life with delightful
whimsy. When a glass of lemonade is stirred, the pulp swirls
around. When it sits quietly, the pulp settles and the liquid
becomes clear. In this way, a glass of lemonade is a metaphor for
how meditation and mindfulness work. That is why this book is
called The Lemonade Hurricane and practicing mindfulness and
meditation helps us tame the hurricane within. Includes a
back-of-book presentation of simple mindfulness techniques that can
be shared at home and in the classroom.
A seek-and-find book that helps with classication skills! Larry and

book that encourages you and your child to look at the pictures and
talk about them. For toddlers ages 24 months and up, with a focus
on the child's language development. Guided Reading Level G
Description It's not always easy for a child to know when they're
jealous; sometimes they may have felt sad and upset or cross and
angry and not know why. But when a child thinks it's not fair that
someone else has got something they want or can do something that
they can't, or when they envy what someone else has or can do, then
they're experiencing jealousy. Jealousy can bring all sorts of
difficult feelings and unhelpful behaviour with it. Let Go of
Jealousy suggests ways in which a child can learn to recognise and
manage jealousy; to control jealousy before it controls them. Each
book in the 'Kids Can Cope' series is backed up with practical
activities for the child to complete and discuss, consolidating and
personalising learning, plus extra notes for parents or teachers.
Supports PSHE teaching in the National Curriculum, and encourages
both self development and empathy for others, while fostering
resilience and giving advice on how to seek help.
