This beautifully illustrated guide is the perfect gift for infusing magic into everyday life through a variety of practices including astrology, witchcraft, tarot, crystals, and magical recipes and spells.
Magic lives within all of us. It is our intuition, our power, our inner wisdom, and the energy we put out into the world. You don’t need to have a special gift to practice magic. You also don’t need to be defined as anything other than yourself to practice magic. Magicka demystifies the world of magic, making its concepts, terms, and practices accessible and approachable. Magicka emboldens modern mystics with ancient wisdom to embark on a journey of self-exploration by helping to connect us with our spiritual selves, and to tap into and trust our intuition in order to be confident and empowered in any situation, as well as for self-care, healing, and general wellness.
Through the guidance of author Carlota Santos, readers will discover how to harness the magic within themselves and manifest it in their lives. They will learn the energy of each astrological sign, how to set up a sacred space, and how to grow and maintain a magical garden and harness the energy properties of plants and herbs in a spell or ritual. There’s also a guide to using essential stones and crystals (for example, when the moon is in Taurus, summon the powers of rose quartz and sapphire for self-love) as well recipes and rituals of all kinds. Seeking romantic love? Try the Gaelic Beltane ritual for attracting love, which includes a flower bath and candle ceremony. Or strengthen self-reflection and inner brightness with a ritual using white candles, wooden boxes, and laurel and lion’s tooth leaves during the summer solstice celebration of Litha. Jam-packed with fun and easy-to-digest information in a beautiful, gifty package, Magicka is the ultimate resource for magic novices and experts alike.

A practical guide on how to work out your Chinese horoscope. Though
perhaps less well-known here than its Western counterpart, Chinese
astrology is every bit as illuminating and provides an equally
valuable shortcut to self-knowledge. Jonathan Dee, the
well-respected author of several books on astrology, tarot, and
fortune-telling, reveals all the mysteries of the art in this
informative volume. Filled with legends, charts, and history, it
contains all of the essentials for working out your Chinese
horoscope including the animal signs for each birthday year, month,
and hour. Each sign receives a richly detailed and enlightening
explanation. Learn the personality traits associated with the 12
animals: - The rat is considered to be the sign of charm and is
noted for its shrewdness, enterprise, and wealth. Rats are also
prosperous, entrepreneurial, obsessive, anxious, bossy, and mean. -
The ox is the sign of tenacity and prosperity and a symbol of
fertility and muscular strength. People born under the ox are
patient, contemplative, eloquent, chauvinistic, petty, and grumpy.
- The monkey is lively, complex, charming, diplomatic, and agile.
Monkeys are also dishonest, sarcastic, lacking respect, and
restless. Chinese Astrology, Orion Plain and Simple is an
accessible introduction that enlightens, entertains, and informs.
This book is the very essence of Jupiter. From its apt title, to
its generous use of many famous chart examples, to Arroyo's
trademark insight and wisdom on every page, "Exploring Jupiter" is
positively a winner The presentation of the astrology is clear,
practical and intelligent, making it a must for both newer students
and more experienced practising astrologers. Unlike the majority of
modern astrologers, Arroyo refers to Jupiter's ancient rulership of
Pisces as being significant, and the book is written with this in
mind. Otherwise much of the book is built on the usual "cookbook"
approach: Jupiter through the signs, Jupiter through the houses
(arranged by element), Jupiter aspects in the birth chart and so
on. As always with Stephen Arroyo, it is the clarity and profound
depth of these guidelines for interpretation that is so striking.
The chapter on transits involving Jupiter is particularly good,
building on ideas he has expressed in earlier writings.

Horary is the astrological method for answering a specific question
by examining a chart drawn for the moment of the question. Horary
astrology shares with martial arts training the teaching of a
combination of method and intuition. In both, repetitive practice
results not merely in good technique, but ultimately in Art that
goes beyond all technique. Horary possesses this martial quality
because it is the only branch of Astrology that functions
exclusively in the moment. With nativities, we are always going
beyond the birth moment with transits, progressions, etc. Because
Horary is immediate, its skills must be sharper, and cut deeper.
The purpose of this work is to present the technique of Horary,
viewed through the lens of Western Classical Astrology. By the time
you finish reading this, you will have a good understanding of how
Classical Astrology works, how Horary works, the kinds of Questions
that Horary can answer, and the approaches that are available to
answering those questions.

Midlife Is Not a Crisis combines astrology, inspiration, and wisdom about aging to empower people to live more fully in the second half of life. It is based on the generational life cycles we all share at certain ages, from the Saturn Return at 29 and Midlife, which peaks at 42, all the way to the Uranus Return at 84. These cycles are the great crossroads of life, and each cycle is a journey in itself. Strung together they offer a road map to life s most challenging and rewarding passages. In every decade there are trials, lessons, and losses; in this we have no choice. Our freedom lies in how we respond consciously or unconsciously, awake or asleep. The planet that governs each cycle acts as a wise elder or guide and holds the key to navigating the cycle successfully. This book tells the story of these cycles and provides a guide to living consciously and well.
We are aging differently from the way we did in the past we are not only living longer, we are staying healthy and vital longer as well. Midlife Is Not a Crisis motivates people to grow and prosper at any age. Magic and divination in early Islam encompassed a wide range of
practices, including belief in jinn, warding off the evil eye, the
production of amulets and other magical equipment, conjuring,
wonder-working, dream interpretation, predicting the weather,
casting lots, astrology, and physiognomy. The ten studies here are
concerned with the pre-Islamic antecedents of such practices, and
with the theory of magic in healing, the nature and use of amulets
and their decipherment, the arts of astrometeorology and geomancy,
the refutation of astrology, and the role of the astrologer in
society. Some of the studies are highly illustrated, some long out
of print, some revised or composed for this volume, and one
translated into English for the first time. These fundamental
investigations, together with the introductory bibliographic essay,
are intended as a guide to the concepts, terminology, and basic
scholarly literature of an important, but often overlooked, aspect
of classical Islamic culture.
