Treasure House Handwriting is a whole-school programme designed to support children in developing a clear and fluent style of writing. Using precursive and cursive handwriting styles, the programme progresses from introducing the movements and patterns needed to form letters, through to the development of a personal style. Linked closely to the National Curriculum, this workbook provides more intense teaching strategies and practice for the first term of formal tuition. Each individual letter shape and movement is taught with a lead-in and a lead-out stroke beginning from the writing line. To provide extra practice in the transition from precursive to cursive letters, an extra section has been included to link the development of a cursive hand to the introduction of spelling patterns.

Tigers is an outstanding collection of photographs showing these fearsome yet magnificent animals in action. Tigers are the largest big cats in the world and because of this, many cultures consider the tiger to be a symbol of strength, courage and dignity. They are featured in ancient mythology and folklore and continue to be depicted in modern films and literature. You’ll discover how tigers are adapted for hunting: A tiger’s paws and claws are one of its greatest weapons during the hunt. Strong, and powerful enough to kill prey with a swipe, the bones in their paws also have cord-like ligaments to buffer them from the impact of hitting prey at a full run. You’ll also learn many other fascinating facts, such as how each tiger is unique – did you know that no two tigers have the same pattern of stripes? Or that you can tell a tiger’s age by its nose? Young tigers have a pink nose which gradually darkens, turning orange, then a blackish-brown as it reaches maturity. With full captions explaining how these incredible animals hunt and feed, rear their young and survive in the wild, Tigers is a brilliant examination in 150 outstanding colour photographs of this beautiful animal.
Eminently readable despite the complexity of its subject, "Fugal Composition: A Guide to the Study of Bach's 48" guides the reader in studying the 48 fugues of the composer's "Well-Tempered Clavier." Author Joseph Groocock analyzes each of the fugues individually, both verbally and diagrammatically, and includes such elements as overall structure, episodes, stretto, subsidiary subjects, and countersubjects. The appendices and index furnish a ready reference for the scholar or researcher seeking information or guidance on specific points. Meanwhile, the volume's editor supplies comparative analyses using current and previous scholarship on every fugue-illustrating where the author supports or challenges other viewpoints. In all, the analyses contained in" Fugal Composition" establish the extraordinary diversity of Bach's fugal style, in such a way that readers gain a new understanding of these significant and beautiful works of music.

This testbook provides practice for the GL Assessment 11+ exams, CATs, Common Entrance and scholarship examinations for independent schools, and other styles of verbal reasoning test. The testbooks are designed to be used in conjunction with the 11+ Verbal Reasoning Year 4/5 GL & Other Styles workbooks as an additional learning tool. After completion, the testpack should be used for final exam preparation. All our materials have been rigorously classroom tested. The methodologies have been successfully used in AE Tuition classes for over 20 years.

If bugs disappeared, so would strawberries, apples, beans and tomatoes, and even chocolate. Without them, we couldn't grow enough food to feed us all. If we lost bugs, we would also lose creatures who depend on them for survival, such as songbirds, badgers, bats and fish.
