PanPastel Colours are professional grade soft pastel colours packed in a unique pan format (cake-like) so that they can be mixed and applied like paint. They are very low dust for a cleaner working environment.All 80 PanPastel Colours are made using a unique manufacturing process requiring minimal binder and fillers, resulting in rich, ultra soft and low dust formulations.

Only professional artists’ grade pigments are used for the most concentrated colours possible. The colours have excellent lightfastness and are fully erasable.

Each pan contains 40%* more material than the average pastel stick, and yields approx. 4-5 times more coverage than sticks. Rembrandt soft pastels owe their quality to the close collaboration with professional artists, combined with traditional expertise and more than a century of experience in the manufacture of pastels. This range consists of seventy-five carefully crafted colors, all made with Walnut Oil apart from a Fast-drying White, which contains an alkyd resin, and a Titanium White which uses Sunflower Oil.

Most modern paintmakers use Linseed Oil as a binder for their oil paints, occasionally making use of non-yellowing oils such as Safflower or Poppyseed oil for whites and pale colors. M. Graham Artists’ Oil Paints are made with Walnut Oil, a clear, free-flowing, slow-drying and non-yellowing oil which was used extensively by the artists of the European Renaissance. The pure American Walnut Oil used by M. Graham dries to a clear film which will not yellow, allowing the true color of the pigments to shine through.

These excellent quality oil paints can be mixed with any other oil paints and mediums (even those that contain alkyd resins), and are all solvent-free. They flow more freely from the tube than most artist oils, and remain wet for longer.

This Test Pack contains:

Holbein Pigment Paste contains finely ground pigments suspended in a base of water, wetting agent, and dispersing agent. These intense colours have been developed as a base colourant with which to produce your own paint.

There are no binders, fillers, or other chemicals added. They can be used as they are for block printing and monoprinting, and can be combined with a watersoluble binder such as gum arabic or acrylic emulsion to produce paint. Mix with a few drops of water until the desired tint is achieved.

When not in use, keep the container tightly closed, and clean brushes and tools in warm water immediately after use.

Please note: Holbein Pigment Paste does not contain any binder on its own and is not suitable as an actual paint unless a watersoluble binder or adhesive agent is added. It is recommended to test a small amount first to ensure compatibility.

Each pastel in the Terry Ludwig range is crafted by hand with a broad range of pigments and minimal, natural binders. This results in a pastel which has a high-concentrated pigment and is velvety soft. Terry Ludwig began experimenting with formulas for making his own pastels in 1995 as he was frustrated with the lack of color options available and few choices for very soft pastels. He wanted to create a broad range of colors that were uniformly soft regardless of the density of the hue. There are now over 500 intense colors.

Coliro Pearlcolors are unique shimmery metallic shades, perfect for creating wonderful shiny effects across a variety of techniques.
