What do you get when you mix pigment, wax, and oil? You get a pigment stick of creamy soft texture also known as Gelatos. Gelatos are acid-free, odorless, and water-soluble. They can be used by themselves or combined with water through a series of techniques to create a watercolor medium.

Gelatos quality pigment is resistant to fading under normal lighting conditions and is compatible with most other acrylic mediums. The easy twist up design of Gelatos makes them easy to maintain and store and their solid opaque color is perfect to cover large surfaces.

Gelatos can be used on paper, cloth, canvas, wood, and fabric. We recommend using a thicker paper such as watercolor paper and using a sealant when working with fabric. Gelatos are also great to use when journaling in your books, notebooks, or bibles, and their vibrant colors look great against dark colored surfaces. With such versatility, it can be hard to know where to start with your Gelatos. Here you can find a handful of techniques to gain a better understanding of this medium.

Blending Gelatos is a great technique to add color and dimension to your work. Combine colors together to create new colors and blend multiple colors together with your fingertips, a cotton swab, water, or a blending tool. Another technique to try on your Gelatos is edging. With the edging technique, create a distressed or grunge effect by drawing color along the edge of your paper then blend to fade color inward.

Properties :QUALITY: Deep and glossy, transparent or opaque, with a superb enamelled appearance after baking. The range includes 10 shimmering colours, twinkling and iridescent effects, particularly opaque and covering. Excellent lightfastness.COLOUR MIXABILITY: Colours can be mixed together.DRYING: Tack free in a few minutes, fully dry in a minimum of 24 hours. Baking all colours and auxiliary products in the range : 35 minutes at 150°C (300°F) in domestic oven, after minimum 24 hours drying. For the markers: Allow to air dry 72 hours for decorative use with light washing and no soaking.Product Usage :Porcelaine 150 can be applied to all heat-stable bases that are able to withstand a temperature of 150°C (300°F), such as porcelain, china, glazed earthenware, terracotta, metal, enameled sheet steel, copper and glass. The choice of base enables numerous effects to be produced and experiments to be made with the transparency and intensity of the colours. Porcelaine 150 makes professional enameling available to all, with a new generation of 46 colours, glazed by simply baking at 150°C (300°F) in any domestic oven. In bottle, tube and marker, which can be mixed together, deep and glossy, transparent or opaque, with a superb enameled appearance after baking. Many applications are possible with Porcelaine 150: with brushes and also with sponge and stencil. The Porcelaine 150 outliners, in tube with nozzle, can be used for outlining work and screen printing. The markers are recommended for lines and writing. Shake well before use. Press tip repeatedly to start ink flow. Allow to air dry 72 hours for decorative use with light washing and no soaking. For dishwasher resistance, allow to air dry 24 hour after application then bake in oven for 35 minutes at 150°C (300°F). Store flatwise. Keep away from freezing.

Opacity: Opaque. Finish: Pearly. FIXING: 3-4 minutes on the back side of the fabric with a hot iron. CARE (Surfaces decorated) : 48 hours after fixing, the gutta is resistant to hand washing with water and dry cleaning. Water-based Gutta:Water-based Guttas have a thick consistency and are ideal for drawing outlines. Pearlescent, they can be applied directly from the nozzle tube. They penetrate perfectly through the fibres of the fabric, thus creating a barrier to the Setasilk colours which are applied afterwards. Once they are set with an iron, these Guttas are wash resistant.
