These wood cased Pastel Pencils have a soft, powdery texture which produces a velvety smooth finish, ideal for mixing and blending. And because they’re pencils, they’re clean and easy to control. There are 72 colours to choose from.

PanPastel Colours are professional grade soft pastel colours packed in a unique pan format (cake-like) so that they can be mixed and applied like paint. They are very low dust for a cleaner working environment.All 80 PanPastel Colours are made using a unique manufacturing process requiring minimal binder and fillers, resulting in rich, ultra soft and low dust formulations.Only professional artists' grade pigments are used for the most concentrated colours possible. The colours have excellent lightfastness and are fully erasable.Each pan contains 40%* more material than the average pastel stick, and yields approx. 4-5 times more coverage than sticks.

Mount Vision soft pastels are handmade in the United States by Karl Kelly using the finest traditional and synthetic pigments combined with a base of chalk, talc and clay. This produces a pastel with a wonderful buttery feel which is nevertheless durable and strong. Because of their generous proportions, these pastels represent excellent value for money.This is an Iridescent Mount Vision Pastel with tiny iridescent flakes which will create a shiny surface on your drawing. This pastel is of the following colour: Iridescent White 1000.

The pastels are made in Northumberland and contain only pure pigments in a cycle of related hues, instead of adding white or black to the colours. The result is intense, vibrant colour not muddied by the blending of colours.

Unison's pastels contain very little binder, making them truly soft and smooth. They are mixed to meticulous recipes and are based on traditional pigments such as cadmiums, cobalts and natural and synthetic earths.

Pastels measure approximately 2-1/8" long × 5/8" diameter (54 mm × 16 mm). Sticks vary slightly due to the hand-making process.

Art Spectrum Colourfix Primer is a fine tooth, quick drying acrylic primer which bonds agressively to practically any clean, dry surface - all types of papers (300 gsm or heavier recommended), canvas, card, ply, plastic, glass, timber, ceramic and metal.

Only lightfast, high density mineral pigments are used in the manufacture of Blue Earth Pastels. The pastels are almost square in shape and are on the very soft end of the hardness scale. Each stick has a number imprinted for easy identification. Blue Earth offer an impressive colour selection, with new Turquoise, Nearly Neutral Warm and Nearly Neutral Cool colours recently added to the original colour ranges. Jackson’s Handmade Soft Pastels are high quality, artist grade pastels. There are 200 soft and bright colours in the range, as well as a wide variety of themed selection sets.

Our Soft Pastels are made carefully by hand which makes them very soft with a smooth, buttery consistency. They have a low binder to pigment ratio which makes them rich and luminous, allowing for both subtle and bold mark making.

Their excellent lightfast qualities mean that pastel paintings created with them will not deteriorate over time. The four fluorescent colours are the only exception; like all fluorescent colours they are not lightfast.

The pastels are made solely from pigments, a bentonite clay binder, and calcium carbonate (chalk). Each pastel measures approximately 55mm in length and 15mm in diameter.

The Sennelier oil pastel is a product that makes use of the components used in all Sennelier colours: top quality pigments, an extremely pure synthetic binding medium and mineral wax. The pigments are ground with an inert, non-siccative binding medium that does not oxidise and that has no effect upon either film stability or surface. This base is then mixed with wax (neutral pH). The balance of this mix provides Sennelier oil pastels with a unique unctuousness and a creamy texture that allows for a great deal of freedom in pictorial expression.

The Sennelier oil pastels possess an extraordinarily high pigment content, thus providing them with a high colouring and covering potential, excellent brightness and a high degree of light stability (with the exception of metallic and fluorescent shades).

The remarkable properties of these components, along with their precise dosage, provide Sennelier oil pastels with unique properties, making the brand a world-recognised reference.

The exceptional diameter of the Conté à Paris pastel pencil (5 mm) lead gives genuine freedom of creation and has an unrivalled feel. The pastel is a perfect pencil companion to soft pastel because it's lead is slightly harder with less pigment. It is preferable to Conté soft pastels and crayons when detail is required for small and medium sized formats. In contrast with soft pastel, pastel pencil should not be added in successive layers of colours, but used as pure colours laid out in patchwork fashion side by side (so as not to dull the shades).

This Pastel Artist Panel has a proprietary ground formulation that is silk screened directly on to the panel to create a consistent working surface. The panel is lightweight yet rigid, non-warping, dimensionally stable and accepts water, mineral spirits and turpentine applications. The white surface is perfect for underpainting techniques. While primarily it is best used with pastels, this surface is compatible with oil sticks, oil media and coloured pencils. The thin and lightweight surface makes it perfect for plein-air.
