Life can sometimes lead us to unexpected places, to only leave
us broken, desperate, and hurting. Heather Gillis and her husband,
Mac, waited in anticipation for the birth of their third child.
Like many Christian couples, their dreams and expectations in
marriage, parenthood, and daily life developed differently than
they'd planned, and left them grieving a life that would never be.
Their journey gives insight into a new normal and uncovers the
stepping stones of the healing process. In their process, they
re-discovered God's abounding love through their experiences of
joy, heartbreak, and purpose. Heather reaches out to parents around
the globe to speak openly about being a wife, mother, friend,
relative, or stranger during life-changing trials and devastating
struggles. In God's love, she has found beauty in the midst of
pain, as well as peace in His presence on Earth while waiting for
heaven.
"Nothing Gold Can Stay "is a richly described reminiscence of
childhood on an extended family farm in the late 1940s and in the
1950s. It is written in a beautifully lyrical style and told with
disarming honesty. A unique history of one unforgettable place in
time, it details a distinct way of life in an America that no
longer exists. Thanks to author Gloria June Reed's clarity of
memory to the smallest of details, Nothing Gold Can Stay will gift
you with accounts of:
the fortitude and hardships of immigration as both sets of Reed's
grandparents leave the Volga Valley in Russia and emigrate to
America;
family strength and courage during World War II;
surviving the Great Blizzard of 1949;
the freedom to be a child and explore the wonder and fascination
of the natural world;
the adventures and pranks of farm children in the long, golden
summer days;
memories of a unique country school;
the significance of both past and place in forging a life.
The stories within Nothing Gold Can Stay are of America's golden
age, when family and faith were strong, Judeo-Christian values and
patriotism flourished, and America was both a manufacturing capital
and a beacon of freedom for the world. It was a refreshingly
innocent time. But nothing ever stays the same, and eventually the
farm and its way of life are destroyed by affluence, greed,
demographics, changing values, and the resultant assault of swift
changes in the world.
This history of a bygone era and the people in it will engage
and delight you. The richness of life on this farm will endure in
your memory. You'll finish the book with the satisfaction of having
read something of value that needed to be told.
Diagnosed with a basketball-sized tumor in her uterus, Brandon Bays
refused drugs and surgery, instead discovering a powerful direct
path to the potent healing power of the soul. Six and a half weeks
later, she was tumor free.
Join the hundreds of thousands worldwide who have since used The
Journey to awaken their own infinite potential and set themselves
free. In this newly revised and updated version of the original
book, Brandon offers her most up-to-the-minute process work and
teaching, which has been developed over the last seventeen years. A
pioneering vision of an entirely new paradigm for healing, The
Journey is a powerful, step-by-step means to find direct access to
the soul, the infinite intelligence that is within us all.
In a prophetic vision, God showed me the evangelical churches of
North America channeling all their spiritual energy into the works
of their own hands, enshrining these works as a divine
manifestation of God while living in rebellion to His word of
truth. We have forsaken the mandate of the Azusa Street Revival and
have been shutting the door more and more to all possibilities for
any future revivals and awakenings in North America. If the church
does not wake up from its spiritual slumber, all will soon be lost.
The purpose of this book is to reveal to the body of Christ in
North America and the rest of the world where we have gone wrong
and how to turn back to God in much-needed repentance. It is my
prayer that through this book, a new spirit of righteousness will
be awakened in true believers everywhere and that they would be
energized into a new mindset of desiring something authentic from
God's Holy Spirit, no longer clinging to that which is religious
and familiar. Lord let the evangelical churches of North America be
set free from the entanglements of their own cultural and social
bondages and allow the true love of Jesus Christ to reign in their
hearts, churches, and communities. Let the real spirit of the
Christ be their guide.
Amen.
Whether the topic is life or death, author Carol Quintana has a few
answers. She knows what it is like to be dead for over sixty
minutes. She lives today to tell her story. The Light is as so many
describe it to be. It comes from a source. She was in the Light,
and she shares the truth with you-her truth and His The Light is
more than just the way. This Light teaches you about real love.
Whether the topic is spiritual or supernatural, Quintana can
explain the difference. If you believe in angels or demons, let her
share with you her experience with both. Even if you don't know the
Word of God, it is easy to understand. Quintana shares many
examples from the Bible. This is good reading for those searching
for answers to questions such as, "Is there a God?," "Does life go
on after death?," "Do I have spiritual or supernatural angels with
me?," or "Do my gifts come from God?" Your birth and your heritage
is no mistake. The gifts God gave you at birth are yours to make
the most of. Most of all, Quintana wants every reader to realize
that God is good
Not a Failed Faith will enable the reader to understand that
there's more to death than meets the eye, particularly after
journeying through an extended period of time-fervent in prayer and
strong in faith-for a loved one's healing.
Despite not seeing our expectations fulfilled, our faith was not
destroyed or diminished. Rather, it proved to be resilient and
continued to increase. God's goodness and grace are abundant.
The short story in chapter 8 will introduce the beautiful side
of this tragic event to children who have lost loved ones. It will
minister to adults as well.
The reader will be encouraged to open his/her heart to God's
omniscience and sovereignty over any matter. He is worthy to be
trusted.
God has been revealing to me that writing is an effective way for
me to share my heart with Him; I feel encouraged to use it as a way
to share his love and my faith in him with you. I have spent the
majority of my life searching desperately for the missing piece to
complete my life puzzle. The discovery of my life has been
made....Jesus. From the bottom of my heart to the top of the
highest mountain, I would like to proclaim to everyone who is
alive, ?God loves you God wants to be close to you You are created
for HIM He his waiting with open arms and unending love for you God
forgives you We can approach God with confidence in our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ. The idea of this book grew from a seed planted
in my heart on November 9, 2012. While reading II Kings, God
revealed to me an important role in my Christian life. God tells of
King Hezekiah, who was aware of God's presence in past events, had
a personal relationship with God via a powerful prayer life, and
trusted in God's help for current events in his life. One thing he
lacked was his concern for future generations. God convicted my
heart that I was lacking this as well. Not sure what to do, I
prayed that God would show me. A book. Since I will not be around
forever to share my faith with future generations, I can share my
faith through a book. This is the first and possibly the only book
I will write; I will leave that up to God. This is a collection of
prayers and writings regarding some truths God has revealed to me.
An invitation to you...to draw near, speak to God about what is on
your heart, then be still, and know that He is God. This is the
sacrifice God wants from us. He wants us to share our heart with
him and trust him and his word to guide our lives. Talk to God
about anything you would a family member, best friend, co-worker,
etc. God wants us to come to Him first.
