Epic poem's are rare jewels of literature. An epic poem is a
long poem that tells a story. Kid Lightning and the Thunder Peach
has a precise rhyme scheme and is sub-divided into minor poems or
chapters. This story is meant for a mature audience. Kid Lightning
and the Thunder Peach is primarily a romantic love story. Kid
Lightning and the Thunder Peach dare each other to speak in a
poetic, romantic fashion. There is a man versus nature theme with
powerful thunder and lightning. Love in this tale is forbidden.
There are many temptations to make love and a passionate kiss.
There are women in leadership positions with strong lady characters
including historical women as angels. This life and death adventure
includes insight into being disabled. This story has an exciting
heavenly adventure. There is also a battle against the Devil. The
spiritual experience brings them a small step closer to God.
Ocean of Compassion: A Guide to the Life of Universal Loving
provides inspirational guidance for the cultivation of the
essential virtues necessary to live a life whose purpose is to
overcome our mistaken ways of acting and thinking and become a
Buddha for the benefit of all. It explains how to cultivate this
motivation, called Bodhichitta in Buddhism, and how to shape
universal loving into a truly transformational life through the
practice of the virtues of generosity, patience, effort, moral
discipline, concentration, and wisdom. Expressed in poetic form,
the book can help you change your thoughts, words, and actions so
as to live a meaningful life of service to others--one in which you
truly love your neighbor as yourself.
This book deals about the Islamic Gnosticism and present a
comprehensive narrative about the Theoretical Gnosticism
(Irfan-e-Nazari). In accordance with Islamic Ideology the most
exalted aim of God and his divinely appointed prophets is the
training and guidance of human being in their spiritual journey
from earthly temporary abode towards the eternal God's
Celestial-Kingdom. The main contents of the book as mentioned
earlier are the etiquette and instructions of Gnostic journey, ways
and manners of servitude, detailed descriptions of deeds and
worships that must be performed by a wayfarer, and what sort of
behaviors and restrictions they must practice in order to attain
the desired results. The book consists of preface and three parts
covering the following topics: Self-purification, Human Virtues,
What to be?, Heart in Qur'an, Hard-heartedness, Self-refinement,
Self-struggle, Egotism, Worldliness, Piety, Characteristics of the
Pious, Repentance or Self-Cleansing, Training and Perfection of
Self, Faith, Means of Achieving Perfection and God's Nearness,
Invocations, Instructions, Obstacles of the Path, Nourishment of
Moral Virtues, Righteous Deeds etc. The most prevalent
misunderstanding about Islamic Mysticism which must be clarified is
that relinquishment of worldly involvement, seclusion, and
monasticism are not prerequisites for undertaking a spiritual
migration towards God-Almighty; on the contrary, as it would be
shown in the later part of this book, Islam demands from its
followers that while living among the people a normal social life
discharging the individual and collective obligations, they
shouldn't be negligent of their own selves and must pay special
attention towards their spiritual purification.
The word of God is not designated to any one group or
nationality, but instead is available for all who wish to learn His
word and apply it to his or her daily life. Even better,
understanding the Bible does not require a degree in theology, but
simply an open heart and mind.
Uplifting and deeply moving, "Walking with God Is a Divine
Journey" shares ways to develop a closer relationship with God
through our life's experiences. Author Lisa Olivares Young explains
how, regardless of how your life began or how many mistakes you've
made, the promises of God are deeply rooted within us to seek the
life He so graciously desires for us.
Young uses personal anecdotes and biblical stories to illustrate
how God has worked in her life. She also explores the doubts,
fears, and perplexities she has endured in various life situations,
illustrating how she found comfort and guidance in the Bible and
through prayer. Each chapter touches upon a subject often
encountered in our walk with God, including learning from your
past;
overcoming life's challenges;
discovering your purpose;
taking the road less traveled.
Part memoir and part Bible study, "Walking with God Is a Divine
Journey" will help you develop your faith, understand God's love
and guidance, and listen to His correction, all by reading and
applying His word.
This is the story of one man's burden for the city he lived in
and loved. Detroit, once America's leading industrial city, falls
with political corruption, racial intolerance, and its auto
industry's refusal to change. Bob spearheads the partnering of his
New York City church with an inner-city Detroit church, trusting
God's power to take one small step in revitalizing Detroit. This
book may challenge you to trust God to raise you from your own
struggles. "Bob Chancia has accurately and passionately
communicated the issues facing Detroit as well as the hope for
Detroit-the Gospel of Jesus Christ ... because Jesus is the only
hope for Detroit and all men. Bob, a native New Yorker, loves
Detroit as much as we native Detroiters. I couldn't put this book
down A must read " -Diane Denaro Frank, founder and executive
director, AngelHouse.org "Here is the account of a miracle touching
two great cities. New York's Calvary Baptist Church, by joining
with Detroit's Citadel of Faith Covenant Church, has displayed the
power and presence of Christ in helping bring a once great city
back to vibrant life. Bob Chancia has beautifully and forcefully
recounted this miracle that touches two cities." -Rev. James O.
Rose, pastor emeritus, Calvary Baptist Church, New York City;
Dallas Theological Seminary board of directors for nineteen
years.
This book is written for individuals that have felt alienated from
God because the church failed. After our son was sexually molested
by another member of our church, Richard and I looked to our
pastors to help us navigate through trauma and pain that such an
event produces. Not only were our pastors ill equipped to direct us
toward healing, they were unable to express empathy or support.
Their solution was a don't talk rule and just forgive directive.
When these failed to satisfy us, the senior pastor stated he would
released us to find healing somewhere else. In other words, we were
KICKED OUT OF CHURCH. Like so many people that have been wounded by
the church or church people, our children were ready to just walk
away from the church and the Lord. After all, how do you separate
the two.? These were the only pastors our children had ever known.
Our pastors had taught us to view the church as family. They had
repeatedly reminded us, We were in covenant relationship with the
Lord and each other. Yet when life got ugly, they couldn't wait to
get rid of us. How do you separate the truth from the lies after
such rejection?Richard and I have a relationship with the Lord
Jesus Christ that precedes our joining that church. We knew that
Jesus had not treated us so coldly. We were not willing to walk
away from Jesus. Yet we, too, needed to learn to separate Jesus
from religious tradition and religious people. This is a recounting
for that journey of learning to separate the God that loves us from
the church that so often misrepresents Him. May it give you hope.
The greatest need of professing Christians today is a better,
deeper, and fuller knowledge of Christ. The Christian life can be
described as getting to know God better every day. Every Christian
should regularly?daily?read the Word of God. We should find time
for quiet time or personal devotion. For over 20 years I have been
using commentaries in my devotions. The blessings derived from the
commentaries is overwhelming. I am writing this commentary to share
some of those blessings and lessons I have learned over the years.
"It has been my privilege to know Franklin Trainer for several
years. He is a man of Christian character and has proven himself
faithful. He takes his responsibilities very seriously while
attempting his very best to live holy and being led by the Spirit.
I would say that he is old fashion in his beliefs, but he simply
just believes the Bible. You will only find him using the King
James Bible in his studies and devotionals. My wife has spent time
with his wife and their home is solid, stable and full of Christian
joy. If you want to read devotionals written by a man that lives
them out daily, please read Provoked." Sincerely, Evangelist Matt
Pringle Ottumwa Baptist Temple Ottumwa, Iowa "Cut from the old
cloth of the patriarchs, Franklin Trainer wastes no time trying to
be good. He knows that he is a sinner and must have God's own
goodness for his own. Franklin is not concerned with simply being
right. Rather, he insists on Christ's righteousness being imputed
to him. This is a man who has been to Bethel, and who has walked
with God and every aspect of his life is fragrant with the aroma of
celestial delights. Now he has erected an altar, and welcomes us
all to worship with him at the feet of the One he adores. Having
wrestled with God for every benediction within, Franklin generously
invites us to enjoy them with him." Pastor Caleb Thompson Austin,
Texas Born and raised in rural Missouri, Franklin grew up
appreciating the value of candor and honesty. Choosing early on to
surround himself with older mentors, his own age and maturity has
now served to solidify the benefit of having learned plain speak
during his formative years. Reared in a crosspatch of
Protestantism, but not saved until the age of 29, has forged a post
salvation passion, and a compelling heart, to reach out to others
who perhaps live in like delusion that all is well with their soul
apart from being "born again" (cf. John 3:3, 5). Working for some
24 years in youth ministry, Franklin takes seriously the admonition
"to teach others also" those eternal truths instilled in him by
"faithful men" gone on before (cf. 2 Timothy 2:2). Franklin teaches
and preaches regularly in chapel and Sunday morning classes as a
staffer at his local church and Christian school; as well as on the
radio in the nearby community. Married, with two grown daughters,
two terrific sons-in-law, and one granddaughter; life in CHRIST is
rich and rewarding indeed. The Trainer's make their home in the
Ozark region of the 'Show Me' state; enjoying country living at its
finest, amidst some of the best climate and scenery found anywhere
under GOD'S Heaven.
The world as we know it is about to change. Whether it is the
Mayans' 2012 or the Christians' final days, humans can feel a major
change coming to the world they now inhabit. Blood Quantum offers
the hope of change of mind and soul over that of physical
extermination. A world where the veil between the spirit world and
the physical world once again is opened so that both can be quided
by the Great Mystery of life, in a peaceful and harmonious way.
The writers of the Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book presented
twelve steps to a better life. Spiritual Steps discusses those
steps and the spiritual principles associated with them. The
information within these pages is not just for the suffering
alcoholic or drug addict but is a tool that can benefit all people
in all walks of life.
