There's no doubt most people yearn to be successful. What's stopping them? They don't know how. In The Keys to Success, author Christopher Williams outlines the principles that must be applied to achieve success in life. Using biblical references, Williams shows how success correlates with faith and taking action, and he demonstrates that success principles are no secret and common and easy to apply. The Keys to Success gives examples of practices that can be implemented to improve your life. It discusses how to: set goals; combat fears; put God first; have faith; avoid procrastination; be open-minded; think outside the box; think like a winner; have the right attitude; maintain focus; be consistent; make good decisions; give back. This guide shows that success is yours for the asking. Remind yourself each day that it is your dream and your goal. Seize the moment in your life. Choose today to start your journey of success.
In this book religious leaders and their institutions call for strong national action on global climate change. This call comes from the majority of America's religions including Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Eastern Orthodox, Episcopalian, Evangelical, Quakers and Bahai. Dr. James Hansen, Director of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, provides scientific insights showing that climate change is real. The evidence is mounting all around us. The carbon dioxide in the air is increasing. This causes the air temperature to rise, and also increases the acidity of the ocean. Mountain glaciers are retreating. The sea ice in the Arctic is shrinking. Sea levels are rising, and water supplies are threatened. The impacts on humans and other species are already alarming. The challenge we face is a moral test. The statements from religious leaders are important because our world is rapidly changing. Human population has doubled in just the past thirty years. Technologies are changing with bewildering speed. Humans are the most powerful biological and geological force on the planet. If current trends continue, the impacts of our fossil fuel addicted economy will last for millennia. If we remain on our present course, we will condemn our children and those children that follow to a much poorer existence than that with which we have been blessed. This book provides the moral basis for avoiding this catastrophe. It provides a prescription for choosing life so that we and our children may live.
This is the second book in the "sheep attack series." After publishing the best selling "When Sheep Attack" the conversation around a handful of antagonists attacking pastors and dividing congregations has increased. This follow up book expands the original 25 case studies to over 200 including clergy of virtually every denomination, music ministers, other lay professionals and lay leaders. This book is needed because educating denominational lay leaders and healthy parish leaders on this behavior is the first line of defense. In this book, Doctor Maynard exposes the essential staff catalyst that fuels an attack on pastors. He also lists a six point plan that has proven successful in stopping sheep attacks. The book is written in a format that can be easily adapted to vestry and board study. Examples of steps parish boards need to take to assist with clergy health and wellness are included. There are also examples of non-triangulation covenants every vestry and board should adopt. Other topics included: Defining leadership styles, Sabbaticals a two-edged sword, The quicksand around parish day schools, Why it is inevitable someone will be ejected from the congregational system after a sheep attack and others.

It's an unfortunate reality within church ministry that sometimes people get upset. It happens, and you do the best you can with it. It's true that many churches and pastors have marvelous synchronicity and enjoy a mutually-beneficial ministry together. The pastor ministering to the needs of the flock, and the flock protecting and caring for their shepherd. Occasionally though, something goes wrong inside of the flock. Rather than following the pastor's leadership and receiving the pastor's care, one (or more) of the flock begin to turn on their shepherd. Sometimes the build-up is obvious, sometimes it's explosive and comes seemingly from nowhere. Regardless of how it happens, the sheep attack. When sheep attack, the fallout surrounding the attack takes a toll on the shepherd and his family, the flock, and on the attack sheep themselves. Inside you will find some of the common traits of attack sheep, some reasons that sheep attack, and some of the challenges that exist before, during, and after an attack. Before you're through, you will learn some things you can do to stop or lessen the damage of the attack, and some specific steps you can take to pick up the pieces afterwards.

What does it mean to be a productive leader? Nourishing your community through leadership produces fruit that can be felt by others, but being a true leader means nourishing your roots inward to hone your character into a truly productive leader. We are influenced on a daily basis by those around us, especially by those in positions of leadership. These interactions are inevitable and can provide the basis for who we are as leaders and how we affect the world around us. We therefore cannot avoid leadership, but we can work toward being productive leaders. This book will provide insight on how you can become the fruit-bearing, world- impacting leader that God would have you to be. The role of religious education/faith development among Unitarian Universalists marks the uniqueness of this religious movement. Without dependence on dogma or creed, it is essential that a religious community be free to develop its own distinctive identity. The centrality of religious education was evident in the very beginnings of this liberal denomination. Rev. Richard Gilbert collects many of the most influential statements of religious education philosophy in the anthology In the Middle of a Journey. From William Ellery Channing's eloquent "Sunday School Address" to the writings of stalwarts Sophia Lyon Fahs and Angus H. MacLean, these carefully selected essays trace the evolution of faith development from a Christian catechism to a broadly based faith-based quest for values, meanings and convictions. In an age that tends to belittle the past, it is refreshing to realize that if we are to chart where we are going, it is wise to know where we have been. The Unitarian Universalist movement has been in some interesting places, and eagerly seeks an adventurous future.
This is a book for emerging leaders. Leaders are individuals who have the calling, character, and competency to influence others to accomplish God's purposes. The essence of leadership in the kingdom of God is influence, not (primarily) position or personal charisma. You don't have to be a full time worker in Christian ministry to be a leader. God is calling out people who are willing to serve him in faithfulness and obedience wherever they make there living or have an opportunity to impact others. This book is targeted for those who are responding to the call of God to influence others for the kingdom. Richard Clinton and Paul Leavenworth are offering this updated and expanded version of Starting Well with the hope that our original vision will be enhanced and enlarged so that another generation of younger emerging leaders will be resourced for developing a firm foundation upon which their life, leadership, and legacy will bring honor to God through faithfulness, focus, fulfillment, and fruitfulness.
In this book Andre Thomas takes his readers through the ultimate quest of self discovery. As you read expect to be illuminated with truth, renewed with hope and empowered with fresh vision for your life Giving you a road map to the best version of you is the purpose of this book

FINISHING WELL Finishing Well is the third and final book in our Well Trilogy, which focuses on establishing our legacy in later years. Finishing Well gives the reader an opportunity to assess ultimate contributions while navigating necessary transitions in life and leadership in order to establish a lasting legacy. This book is designed to integrate Biblical leadership principals, lessons, and examples with real life experiences to help the reader better understand the dynamics and challenges of growing older and navigating the end game in such a way that they do not hinder God's ultimate purposes for their lives. To put it simply, we want to help older (50- 60s) men and women who have started well, lived and lead well to finish well and leave a lasting legacy for God's glory, their fulfillment, and the next generation's benefit. Our focus in this book is finishing well. Our goals include: 1. Providing an overview of the leadership "landscape" of getting older so that you can anticipate challenges and opportunities in order to cooperate with God in his purposes. 2. Providing Biblical insight and opportunities to examine your spiritual formation and foundation as they relate to moral, relational, and faith barriers that if not dealt with can lead to burnout, blowout, or plateauing. 3. Ministering to your inner life as well as providing information about convergence and afterglow as you prepare to finish well and establish your lasting legacy. 4. Providing Biblical and real life insights and examples for navigating the challenges and embracing the opportunities of end game growth and ministry. It is our desire that Finishing Well will be a blessing to you. How our life and leadership ends, how we make critical transitions to empower the next generation of leaders, and the quality of relationships we have will determine how we finish and the quality of our legacy.
