Silent documentary following the 1924 British Mount Everest Expedition during which mountaineers Andrew Irvine and George Mallory met their untimely deaths. The expedition marked the third attempt to make the first ascent of the mountain. It remains under debate whether Irvine and Mallory made it to the summit but they were last seen 800 feet from the top before they disappeared. Mallory's body was discovered in 1999 but Irvine's has never been found. The film was recorded by Captain J.B.L. Noel and captures the progress of the expedition.

Documentary about Victor Hugo's classic nineteenth-century story and its subsequent adaptations to stage and screen. The novel follows the journey of French ex-convict Jean Valjean who atones for his sins by becoming an upstanding member of society. In the 1980s it was adapted into a stage musical, produced by Cameron Mackintosh, in which Alfie Boe later played the lead role. Tom Hooper directed the 2012 film version which stars Hugh Jackman as Valjean. The programme features input from cast and crew of both productions, including Mackintosh, Boe, Hooper and Jackman, as well as Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried and Frances Ruffelle, as they discuss how the story has continued to captivate audiences over so many years.

Setting off from Euston he includes diversions to lines beyond the inter-city network; a trip on the Flying Scotsman; visits to York's railway museum and Edinburgh at Festival time. He crosses the breathtaking Forth Railway Bridge, and after travelling over 785 miles reaches the Kyle of Lochalsh. Palin's second Great Railway Journey (1994) takes him from the ancient walled city of Londonderry to the most western tip of Ireland. He travels his 'family line' as he attempts to trace his great grandmother who left Ireland for the USA over 150 years ago. His trip through a still war-torn Northern Ireland takes him on to Belfast before heading south to Dublin, the capital of the Irish Republic, and on to Wexford, Waterford, the little village of Buttevant and finally Kerry's Dingle Bay, the most western point of Ireland.

AMG, Explore the origins of composer Igor Stravinsky's most audacious work as Michael Tilson Thomas and the musicians of the San Francisco Symphony travel throughout the Russia to seek out the true story of Stravinsky's landmark collaboration with Diaghilev and Nijinsky. As war loomed on the horizon and Stravinsky made his way through the streets of Paris, the seeds were planted for a revolutionary piece of work that would, upon its premiere in 1913, send even the most fashionable of Parisians into a riotous rage. Of course the reputation of "The Rites of Spring" continues to endure, and in addition to offering a revealing look at the story of this masterful work, this release also offers a special performance of "The Rites of Spring" by the San Francisco Symphony.
Though initially developed as a form of survival transport in colder alpine and tundra environments, skiing has become a prime leisure sport with a wide and dedicated following of keen participants that includes all levels of society from royals to republicans. But now skiing has developed further and entered the 'Extreme' area of sporting activity. This is achieved when the risk factor is dramatically increased by practising the sport away from the commercial slopes in far more radical 'unspoiled' locations that are considerably more of a challenge to the skier's skills and daring. Extreme skiing demands different attitudes, finer judgements, more sharply honed skills and specialised expertise.
