Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus Fine Art Watercolor is lightfast, transparent, fine art quality watercolor in a glass bottle.
This liquid product delivers the same brilliance and permanency as traditional tube watercolors. Made from the finest artist pigments, Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus Fine Art Watercolor can be blended and intermixed while still maintaining the transparency and luminosity of the colors.
Great for use in technical, calligraphy, fountain pens, and in airbrushes.
The colours are chosen according to mass tone (colour from tube), undertone (bias of colour when in a thin film), colour strength, relative opacity and the character of the pigment in water colour, ie. granulating, staining or even wash. The resultant colour spectrum ensures the largest number of colours can be mixed from the range. The optimum brilliance of every colour in the Artists' Water Colour range is unparalleled by any other water colour. Remarkably, this brilliance is combined with high permanence.

alike. Thanks to Daler Rowney's heritage and close ties to artist
Joseph Mallord William Turner, the brand has been developing high
quality ranges of watercolours since the 19th century. The Aquafine
Watercolour range colours have excellent working properties, and
can be used to create beautiful and delicate washes. The complete
range consists of 37 colours, available as a 8mm tube or Half Pan.
QoR retains the best qualities of traditional watercolours, while
expanding the range and versatility of each colour. QoR's exclusive
binder (Aquazol) provides a greater density of colour than
conventional watercolours, offering vivid depth of colour with
every brushstroke. The unique QoR formula gives vibrant, intense
colours that stay brilliant even after they dry. It provides the
subtlety, transparency and flow of a great watercolour, with
colours that have as much vibrancy and fire as those of acrylic or
oil paint. QoR offers a greater resistance to cracking and flaking
than other watercolours. It also exhibits excellent re-solubility
in water and glazing qualities. CI Name : PR255Pigment Name :

A European style transparent watercolour, Holbein watercolour also preserves the brush handling qualities inherent in traditional Japanese watercolour techniques. Without ox-gall or other dispersing agents, Holbein watercolour moves slowly, thus permitting greater colour density and brush control. It is a colour line with a consistent creamy texture that remains smooth when dry without cracking, crumbling, chipping or molding in the palette. It may be re-wetted easily like a pan colour. For this reason Holbein does not produce watercolours in pan form but allows artists to create their own selection.
Fill the wells of a suitable palette with the desired colour selection. Permit to dry, then wet the colour when needed. Holbein watercolours produce brilliant transparent washes as well as powerful clean darks when used in more concentrated applications. Engineered to surpass the quality standards set by both North American and European manufacturers, Holbein watercolour is widely preferred around the world for it's handling qualities. Holbein watercolour ranks as the world’s finest.

rating. The chunky 24ml tubes represent a great option for artists

Aquarius is a range of artist quality watercolours made by Roman Szmal.
The majority of Roman Szmal colours are single pigment paints, which
ensure clean mixing and let artists easily create their own colour
palettes.
Each colour is made with high quality gum arabic and glycerin, linden
honey, distilled water and pure pigments. Every pan is hand filled and
labelled with watercolour paper.
Colours are made in small batches that allow them to be carefully
checked. Every batch is tested for performance qualities: vibrancy,
flowing abilities, viscosity, colour value, transparency, granulation,
undertone, tinting strength, clarity and particle size. For each
colour, Roman Szmal select the perfect grind to match the particle size.

To achieve the outstanding characteristics, like reusable paint when dried on a palette and the high control of paint flow even on soft water-colour papers Schmincke only use the best raw materials. In its colouristic appearance the total assortment is particularly harmonious, balanced and complete.
One main ingredient of the water-colour binding medium is Kordofan Gum Arabic from the southern Sahara region. Like most natural products this traditional water-colour binding medium differs from year to year. Therefore Schmincke is testing Gum Arabic every time before purchase and selects only the best crop of the respective year. This adds small but significant quality advantages. Other formula ingredients are selected equally carefully and of course are integrated in each formula in an individual optimised way to obtain a harmonious assortment, that can be easily picked up by the brush.
Another traditional quality criterion is the re-usability of the Horadam Aquarell water-colours while using the same formulation for tubes and pans. Both properties, the reusability and the control of the paint flow can only be achieved by pouring water-colours into pans in a liquid state, which is really unique.
