The colours are chosen according to mass tone (colour from tube), undertone (bias of colour when in a thin film), colour strength, relative opacity and the character of the pigment in water colour, ie. granulating, staining or even wash. The resultant colour spectrum ensures the largest number of colours can be mixed from the range. The optimum brilliance of every colour in the Artists' Water Colour range is unparalleled by any other water colour. Remarkably, this brilliance is combined with high permanence.
Shin Han Pass takes its name from a subway or metro pass. Like a travel pass that allows access to unlimited modes of transportation, ShinHan Pass allows both transparent and opaque techniques to be realised within a single tube. A combination of watercolour and acrylic, ShinHan Pass also exhibits characteristics of gouache. A low amount of gum arabic and glycerin in this paint makes brush strokes more free and colours appear more saturated.
ShinHan Pass paints are made of the world's best pigments. These vivid colours are lightfast and each colour maintains its own integrity when blending.
ACMI certified.
Non-toxic.
QoR retains the best qualities of traditional watercolours, while
expanding the range and versatility of each colour. QoR's exclusive
binder (Aquazol) provides a greater density of colour than
conventional watercolours, offering vivid depth of colour with
every brushstroke. The unique QoR formula gives vibrant, intense
colours that stay brilliant even after they dry. It provides the
subtlety, transparency and flow of a great watercolour, with
colours that have as much vibrancy and fire as those of acrylic or
oil paint. QoR offers a greater resistance to cracking and flaking
than other watercolours. It also exhibits excellent re-solubility
in water and glazing qualities. CI Name : PR122Pigment Name :

The Cotman Water Colour range has a more uniform consistency than the Artists' Water Colour range and this benefits beginners as there is less to learn about each individual pigment. The Cotman Water Colour range also relates to the Winsor & Newton Artists' Water Colour range, this enables artists to use colours from both ranges with minimal adjustment to their technique.

into PrimaTek Watercolours. The first was Lapis Lazuli Genuine in
1998, since then, many more have been added such as Amethyst
Genuine, Piemontite Genuine and Serpentine Genuine. Most of these
colours have wonderful granulating effects that some artists have
called 'magical'.This is a 5ml tube of Daniel Smith Primatek

To achieve the outstanding characteristics, like reusable paint when dried on a palette and the high control of paint flow even on soft water-colour papers Schmincke only use the best raw materials. In its colouristic appearance the total assortment is particularly harmonious, balanced and complete.
One main ingredient of the water-colour binding medium is Kordofan Gum Arabic from the southern Sahara region. Like most natural products this traditional water-colour binding medium differs from year to year. Therefore Schmincke is testing Gum Arabic every time before purchase and selects only the best crop of the respective year. This adds small but significant quality advantages. Other formula ingredients are selected equally carefully and of course are integrated in each formula in an individual optimised way to obtain a harmonious assortment, that can be easily picked up by the brush.
Another traditional quality criterion is the re-usability of the Horadam Aquarell water-colours while using the same formulation for tubes and pans. Both properties, the reusability and the control of the paint flow can only be achieved by pouring water-colours into pans in a liquid state, which is really unique.

Traditional Japanese watercolours for professional artists and crafters alike. These extra large pans (4.5 x 2.5cm) of brilliant, luminous, high-performance paints are ideal for sketching, illustration, sumi-e, manga, calligraphy and more. The range includes a good selection of vivid colours with creamy consistencies.
Apply a wet brush to the pans to activate the colours. Gansai pans may exhibit cracking due to extreme dryness or appear rough in texture due to tiny air bubbles, however neither of these traits affect their quality.

A European style transparent watercolour, Holbein watercolour also preserves the brush handling qualities inherent in traditional Japanese watercolour techniques. Without ox-gall or other dispersing agents, Holbein watercolour moves slowly, thus permitting greater colour density and brush control. It is a colour line with a consistent creamy texture that remains smooth when dry without cracking, crumbling, chipping or molding in the palette. It may be re-wetted easily like a pan colour. For this reason Holbein does not produce watercolours in pan form but allows artists to create their own selection.
Fill the wells of a suitable palette with the desired colour selection. Permit to dry, then wet the colour when needed. Holbein watercolours produce brilliant transparent washes as well as powerful clean darks when used in more concentrated applications. Engineered to surpass the quality standards set by both North American and European manufacturers, Holbein watercolour is widely preferred around the world for it's handling qualities. Holbein watercolour ranks as the world’s finest.

are a high-quality range of watercolours which have been designed
with the help of professional artists. The colours are rich, pure,
and have been designed to mirror the natural tones from nature’s
palette. These watercolours are handmade by first mixing pigments
with mediums and dispersants. The concentration of the pure pigment
means a little colour goes a long way and there is very little
colour shift from wet to dry. The colours have been formulated for
superior lightfastness to better preserve the intensity of your
painting. All Mission Gold watercolours are created with safe
non-toxic pigments and ingredients. The range contains 105 colours
available in 15ml tubes.
PV23, Excellent ligthfastness.Lascaux Aquacryl combine two worlds:
they perform as an acrylic paint, yet are as transparent and light
as watercolours. Lascaux Aquacryl is suitable not only for
traditional watercolour techniques but also for luminous glazes on
large formats. The range is highly pigmented, non-ageing and
non-yellowing. They are easily soluble when dry and result in a
matt finish. They consist of fine, pure, lightfast pigments and
water soluble age-resistant acrylic resin. The paint can be applied
directly or diluted, not only on water colour paper but on
virtually any firm, porous surface with the use of brush, airbrush
and a variety of other painting tools. No matter what the
concentration, it dries to a velvety matt finish, durably
preserving the richness and intensity of colour. Thin applications
dry in such a manner that they can be overpainted without
dissolving previously applied layers. Conversely, thickly applied
layers can be dissolved to produce washes.Lascaux Gesso is
recommended as a primer. To achieve a fine-grained
texture, Lascaux Structura is especially
suitable. By mixing with acrylic mediums, the paints become
waterproof. Lascaux Aquacryl can be used in combination with
acrylic paints as a mixed technique. Works are permanently
protected with Lascaux Fixative without causing any
essential change to their character.
