Hematite is a heavy silvery-black when used concentrated, but softens to a dove grey in a thin wash. Hematite (or Bloodstone) is ground from a heavy silvery-black mineral rich in iron. This mineral powder makes up the pigment portion of this watercolour paint.
Amazonite Genuine is a strong, pure, teal colour that is completely transparent and non-staining. The precious mineral pigment contained in this paint is sourced from Brazil and named after the Amazon river.

Roasted French Ochre is a strong, natural orange-brown watercolour that is useful for both landscape and portrait work.
Enviro-friendly Yellow Iron Oxide (PBr6) is a warm golden yellow. This earth-friendly product is semi-transparent and non-staining.
Sodalite Genuine is a deep inky blue. Sodalite, sourced from Greenland and the sides of Mount Vesuvius, is a rare component of Lapis Lazuli. Low staining, lightfast and semi-transparent, this product creates a three-dimensional quality as it dries.
Kyanite Genuine is a blue-gray with a dazzling, glittery sparkle. This pigment is ground from the translucent kyanite gemstone which is often used for jewellery. Its name comes from the Greek word kyanos meaning dark blue enamel. This granulated product is excellent for adding texture to a painting.
Transparent Pyrrol Orange (PO71) is a clear, dark, red-leaning orange. Great on its own or in mixes, this product can be added to granulating greens or blues to create earth colours and warm shadow-greys.
Shadow Violet (PO73 PB29 PG18) is a deep, warm violet that becomes a grey-mauve wash when added to water. A hint of orange can be perceived in Shadow Violet when it is used in thin applications. This product's transparency makes it a good choice for glazing or painting subtle shadows.
Cadmium Yellow Light Hue (PY53 PY138 PY3) is a clean lemon yellow. It creates clean mixtures and strong tints with all the richness of a classic cadmium colour.
Bloodstone Genuine is an intense velvety aubergine. This product's strength is its granulation which is apparent when used on hot and cold pressed watercolour paper.
Jadeite Genuine is a deep, dark-green that can be softened to the palest jade wash with the addition of water. This product is made using jadeite variety of jade as opposed to the nephrite form.
Blue Apatite Genuine is a dense rich midnight blue that can, with the addition of water, be turned into a lighter Prussian blue. This product's strength is its granulation which is apparent when used on hot and cold pressed watercolour paper.
Sugilite Genuine is a deep grey purple in masstone and a greyish lavender in a wash. When in a wash the rose tones in the mixture rise creating the perfect paint to illustrate a dawn sky. The pigment is produced from the South African pigment sugilite. This colour makes a great complement to golds, oranges and greens.
Burnt Bronzite Genuine is a coppery honey tone. This transparent shade is an excellent flesh tone that would be invaluable when portrait painting. Like Bronzite Genuine, it gets a subtle lustrous sparkle from iron oxide.
Garnet Genuine is a warm reddish-orange with similar hue but more texture than Quinacridone Burnt Scarlet. Try mixing it with Cerulean Blue for beautiful mauves and grays.
Cerulean Blue (PB35) is a brighter and warmer version of Cerulean Blue Chromium. It has excellent lightfastness and is semi-transparent.

Raw Sienna Light (PY42) has more golden yellow tones than the Daniel Smith Raw Sienna. This Sienna is a granulating colour too, but a bit smoother in washes and is non-staining rather than low staining. Payne’s Blue Gray (PB60, PBk6) is similar to Daniel Smith's bluer Indigo, but like Daniel Smith's original Payne’s Gray, it is semi-transparent rather than transparent. Inky blue and non-granulating.
