                    Colette  Maclennan’s  cookbook  brings  the  spirit  of  her  Cape  Town  café-and-catering  business  The  General  Store  into  the  home  kitchen.
With  over  60  recipes,  the  book  is  structured  around  Maclennan’s  mantra  of  simple  food,  big  flavour.
“The  General  Store:  Dressed  &  Seasoned”  is  a  warm,  accessible  cookbook  that  celebrates  flavour  and  kitchen  ease.  If  you  enjoy
café-style  food,  want  to  bring  some  of  a  Cape  Town  eatery’s  ethos  into  your  own  cooking,  and  favour  honest,  well-designed  but  unpretentious  recipes,  this  is  a  strong  pick.  It  won’t  replace  a  highly  technical  chef’s  book,  but  it  will  certainly  live  happily  on  a  home  cook’s  bookshelf  and  in  the  everyday  rotation.
