Die Autorin evaluiert eine Coachingtheorie, die den Anspruchen von Praxis und Wissenschaft Rechnung tragt. Eine solche muss aus systematischen Entscheidungsmoeglichkeiten bestehen, die das praktische Kommunikationsverhalten von Coaches faktisch leiten. Diese sind zwar durch wissenschaftliche Theorie beeinflusst, nicht aber durch sie in dem Sinne gepragt, dass sich in ihnen relativ ungebrochen bestimmte wissenschaftliche Theorien spiegeln. Das fuhrt zu der Annahme, dass die Entscheidungsmoeglichkeiten so individuell sind wie die Coaches selbst. Um diese These zu uberprufen, analysierte die Autorin eine Coachingsitzung mit einer Methode, die an die Prinzipien der Objektiven Hermeneutik anschliesst und das von Geissler fur die Analyse von Coachingprozessen entwickelte Kategoriensystem nutzt.
