Uber Boden und Gesteine gelangen die belastenden Substanzen mit den Niederschlagen in die Grund- und Oberflachengewasser und bringen so mittel- bis langfristig auch eine Gefahrdung der Trinkwasserqualitat mit sich. Ausgehend vom Naturraum Harz, wird in dem vorliegenden Buch der Einfluss von Luftschadstoffen auf Gesteine, Boden, Gewasser, Bach- und Seesedimente sowie verschiedene an Gewasser gebundene Biozonosen untersucht. Im Anschluss daran werden verschiedene Meliorationsmoglichkeiten aufgezeigt und ein Ausblick auf die mogliche weitere Entwicklung des untersuchten Okosystems gegeben.
