Holbein Heavy Body Acrylic Paint is a range of professional acrylics made using the best quality traditional and modern pigments available. The carefully researched formulation offers superior covering power, a longer working time, clean mixing, and excellent lightfastness. Colours have been specifically designed to bring lustre and a vivid intensity and brilliance to your work.
Holbein acrylics have a unique texture similar to extra fine oil paints and have a smooth, highly brushable consistency that will retain peaks, ridges and texture when applied in thick applications. Colours can also be thinned with water for vibrant washes and subtle blending techniques.
This high quality range also includes a series of modern Luminous and Pearl colours. The Luminous series has been formulated using fluorescent dyes and fugitive pigments for high chroma and brilliance particularly suited to digital and printed reproduction projects.

Artists will be excited by the varying effects achievable with the
different methods used to apply the Matisse Dry Mediums. They
provide magnificent textural effects and will surprise artists and
viewers alike. Ground marble (crystalline calcium carbonate) can be
mixed directly with paint, to add bulk without changing the colour
and while retaining the elements that allow the paint to harden. A
white transparent powder, it mixes successfully with any Matisse or
Derivan medium. Larger proportions make the paint a little stringy,
and this feature can be manipulated to give interesting results.
Weathers well outdoors and is suitable for paintings, collage,
mixed media, and on collograph plates. Use as much as needed to
create effect desired. Read more about this medium in this
Jackson's Art blog post.

results, do not make the mix too dry. Large quantities on large

Acrylic Studio contains the same resin as Acrylic Artist Colour, and many of the same pigments; the pigments selected for this range have been chosen for their permanence, purity and colour intensity, always keeping in mind the purpose of offering an excellent product at a moderate and uniform price.
Acrylic Studio colours do not contain fillers of any kind, so that the colours have great strength and chromatic purity. They are opaque or transparent, depending on the nature of the pigment, and dry to a semi matte finish. The range of 26 colours does not contain any toxic pigments or derivatives of heavy metals, and does not create waste products which may harm the environment. The name and colour index number of the pigments are stated on the labels and in the colourchart, so that the artist can study mixtures and develop their own colours with complete control.
The heavy body consistency of Acrylic Studio permits all techniques, allows the artist to mix the colours with all mediums as well as extraneous materials and can also be simply diluted with water for more transparent applications.
