Do you struggle with the ongoing effects of trauma? If you have
experienced a traumatic event or suffer from post-traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD), you may believe that you're permanently damaged;
that the anxiety, self-doubt, depression, and fear will never go
away. The truth is that it's possible to rewire your brain, so you
can free yourself from the past, find healing, and live for the
future. This workbook will show you how. In The EMDR Workbook for
Trauma, you'll discover a complete program to help you get in touch
with, understand, and heal from the beliefs, feelings, and bodily
sensations connected to your trauma. You'll learn to work through
past or current trauma using emotion regulation and grounding
techniques, and identify the specific triggers, limiting
self-beliefs, and symptoms standing in between you and lasting
peace of mind. You'll also discover how to cultivate compassion for
yourself when you're feeling stuck. Finally, you'll find tons of
tips, tools, checklists, and worksheets to lead you step by step as
you process, heal, and journey toward a life free from the effects
of trauma. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is
proven-effective, fast-acting treatment. Unlike other approaches
for treating trauma, EMDR not only treats the symptoms, but helps
you identify and resolve the underlying causes so you can safely
process your traumatic memories. Using the EMDR techniques in this
book-such as bilateral knee tapping and other variations of
bilateral stimulation-you can actually train your brain to rewire
itself and return to normal functioning, despite negative past
experiences. If you're ready to address your trauma with
confidence, this workbook will gently lead you on the path to
healing.

With retirement about to begin and RV traveling planned, author
Beth Ana is dealing with sadness that sometimes overwhelms her. She
wonders why. "What is wrong with me? I should be so excited and
eager for this life to start " The inner voice of God that has led
her for over forty-five years leads her now to return to the
journals that were written over her married life. She is impressed
with the knowledge that there is where she will find the answers
and the help needed to bring her joy back. Not only is she to go
back to the past, God also tells her to write the story about this
journey. She rebels at that notion, for it means revisiting past
hurts and struggles-and who wants to go back there. Plus, she
wonders, "Just who would be interested in my life story?" God's
reply-"Read the journals."
To her surprise, as she begins to start the journey back, she
finds that indeed the roots causing her sadness are still buried
within. To her added surprise, as she begins her RV travels, the
entries of the past connect to the events occurring now, and God
uses all to answer a prayer cried out two years into her marriage:
"Do something about him; change him, change him like you did St.
Paul."
God works in wondrous mysterious ways, and just how He changes
Beth's life and marriage is-well, that is part of your "journey" as
you read "My Journey--My Cross."

Before "New Age" there was "New Thought," a philosophy that sought
God through metaphysics and was wildly popular in the late 19th and
early 20th centuries. As perhaps the movement's most vocal
proponent, William Walker Atkinson-here writing as Theron Q.
Dumont-believed above all in the power of the mind, especially as
it affected the body's ability to heal. Elaborating on the idea
that the corporeal mind, made up of a body's cells and organs, is
subject to mental suggestion, Dumont provides detailed lessons on
how to use thought to promote the body's natural healing abilities.
Unlike many occult- or religion-based approaches, the author gives
equal attention to the biological processes and functions of the
body, something he believed to be crucial to proper visualization.
More than just an entertaining time capsule, Mental Therapeutics is
a set of principles and healing techniques that can easily coexist
alongside today's medical advances. THERON Q. DUMONT is an alias
and pen name of American writer WILLIAM WALKER ATKINSON
(1862-1932), editor of the popular magazine New Thought from 1901
to 1905, and editor of the journal Advanced Thought from 1916 to
1919. He authored dozens of New Thought books under numerous
pseudonyms, including "Yogi," some of which are likely still
unknown today.
A pioneering researcher transforms our understanding of trauma and offers a bold new paradigm for healing in this New York Times bestseller
Trauma is a fact of life. Veterans and their families deal with the painful aftermath of combat; one in five Americans has been molested; one in four grew up with alcoholics; one in three couples have engaged in physical violence. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent over three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust. He explores innovative treatments—from neurofeedback and meditation to sports, drama, and yoga—that offer new paths to recovery by activating the brain’s natural neuroplasticity.
Based on Dr. van der Kolk’s own research and that of other leading specialists, The Body Keeps the Score exposes the tremendous power of our relationships both to hurt and to heal—and offers new hope for reclaiming lives.
