Fadeke's story in Little-by-Little is indeed an account of God's
miraculous healing power in a way that shows the sovereignty of God
in the affairs of men. I have seen the power of God demonstrated
amidst her challenges; I have witnessed firsthand her complete
dependence on God and her courage in the face of daunting medical
diagnoses. Her story confirms that medicine does not contradict
faith, but rather that faith actually supports and enhances medical
procedures. I have come to realise that the times when God brings
gradual healing actually requires a strong stand of faith on His
word over a period of time. Fadeke has clearly demonstrated that
the issue of gradual healing is no less spectacular a miracle than
instantaneous healing. -Dr. Tony Rapu FADEKE THANKS, I GOT THE
BOOK. I HAVE JUST STARTED READING THE FIRST PAGE AND I'M ALREADY IN
TEARS BUT IT IS SUCH A WELL PUT TOGETHER BOOK THAT I KNOW IT WILL
REACH OUT TO A LOT OF PEOPLE. THE CONTENT AND THE QUALITY OF THE
BOOK IS EXCEPTIONAL. - KUDI L
The Bible condemns drunkenness and alcohol abuse but makes no
specific reference to drug abuse, eating disorders, workaholics, or
most other addictions that concern us today. In many societies,
thousands of individuals are addicted to alcohol, drugs,
television, compulsive spending, sexual immorality, smoking,
overeating and a host of other behaviors. An addiction is anything
or a behavior that is habitual, repetitious and difficult or
impossible to control. Usually the addiction brings short-term
pleasure, but there may be long-term consequences in terms of one's
health and welfare. Addictions tend to be progressive conditions
that slowly exert more and more power and control over the
individual. As people move from infancy toward maturity, they
travel through developmental periods in which people have somewhat
similar characteristics. Each individual advances through various
stages in life-all distinctly different-to maturity. The infant
stage differs greatly from the junior high, but both contribute to
the total development in the life span of the individual. For the
Christian there are two aspects of personality developments. One
relates to the natural human personality and the other is the
Christian personality. Personality, in the natural human sense, is
a term describing the total of what people are physically,
intellectually, socially, emotionally and spiritually. It includes
every aspect and area of life. From birth personality is influenced
and molded by many forces, heredity and environment being the major
forces. Within the environment, mainly family, school, church, peer
group and society influence a person. Subsequent, physical,
intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual structure is built
upon the foundation of early childhood. Growth and development are
not synonymous terms. Growth means to increase in size, function
and complexity up to maturity. Development implies change over time
in structure, thought and behavior caused by biological and
environmental influences. As the individual experience the human
development from birth to adulthood, the addicted too must endure
to achieve redemption from the bondage of sin for God always takes
us back to the root of the situation. Thereby, the elementary stage
is evident when one begins God's process of redemption. God planned
our Redemption. His Son and the Holy Spirit executed it. This
redemption demonstrated the eternal defeat of Satan. Jesus stripped
him of his authority and dominion after He had paid the penalty of
man's transgression.
Nathalie Brisebois has lived through many difficult challenges,
but has found a path to health and happiness. In "Life Happens,"
she shares the story of her experiences battling multiple
sclerosis.
For years, living with remittent-recurrent multiple sclerosis
dictated who she was and what she did. Brisebois describes her
journey battling the many devastating physical and mental effects
of this chronic, degenerative disease and the ways that it
influenced her work, her family, and her entire being. But in "Life
Happens," she tells how she began looking for options and a way to
heal herself, addressing alternatives such as nutrition, yoga,
meditation, vegetarianism, and living a simple life.
Filled with tips, suggestions, and ideas for living with and
battling a chronic illness, "Life Happens" communicates a message
of inspiration and hope, of looking for what you want in life, of
never giving up, and of finding and being at peace with your
life.
"Wounded Dogs and Werewolves" is the true story about a boy of
seven whose childhood was influenced by abuse, molestation, and the
death of his father at a young age, and who then went on to live a
lifelong struggle with addiction and depression. As an adult he
completely turned from his faith and wandered through life with
reckless disregard. After decades of tragic choices, countless
years of counseling, financial ruin, and an accident that could
have taken his life, he returned to his faith and found something
far more valuable than recovery. And he found it where he had never
thought to look.
Written as a letter between two friends, the stories are
sometimes funny, sometimes difficult to read, and often poignant.
This tale ends with the kind of ironic insights that wait for the
small hours of the morning to emerge, after all else is gone and
you are left alone to grace.

herbal medicine.
Live well and healthy for life--This is an invariable resource for
anyone who wants to stay healthy. If you don't take control of your
life, who will? One fundamental right that you have as a free
person is the right to take total control of what you put in your
mouth and body. Portion control and being active are the keys. It
is true that death is inevitable, but the concern here is whether
we should speed up the process. youhave retirement plans? Our
health is the result of our genetic makeup, our environment, our
core beliefs, and our lifestyle choices. Although for you to live
well and healthy you have to seriously watch among other things:
This is a story told by a cancer survivor unlike any other story:
from the initial shock and disbelief of the diagnosis to the search
for answers, second and third opinions, and alternative treatment
options; from having to make very painful and life changing
decisions to the eventual recovery and return to a normal,
productive, and happy life. This is a story of one man's struggle
to understand recurrence after recurrence of colon cancer; of
dealing not only with the effects of chemotherapy treatment, but
also the psychological effects of life after cancer: living with an
ostomy pouch as a replacement for the colon that had to be removed;
learning to operate the alternative system for the elimination of
the body's waste material; and the slow process of accepting and
loving a new body. The lessons learned from this experience can
benefit all cancer patients and their loved ones, from the newly
diagnosed to those who are in remission. In addition, the medical
establishment, which struggles every day with the ever increasing
load of work involved in caring for these patients, can also
benefit from the author's story and learn better ways to
communicate with and understand patients undergoing cancer
treatment.
In this age of pain, suffering, and fear, God often feels very far
away. Finding answers to our human afflictions requires more than
simply opening the Bible: we must dig deeper. "Physicians for
Brokenness" identifies the difficulties facing the human condition
and effectively shows how we can live in a world riddled with
"brokenness."
Theologist R. Deborah Williams suggests that to truly know why
brokenness exists in our world, we must first address its history.
Only then can we see that God does not want us to stay uncomforted,
but instead wants to help. Williams shows that the answer is in
Jesus Christ who redeems, heals, and restores us to a place of
wholeness.
We are made whole in order to serve those in need through the
power of Jesus Christ. By acting like the Good Samaritan, we are
instrumental in restoring health and being true physicians to the
broken.
As the demand for herbal medicines is increasing globally, the
supply of medicinal plants is declining because most of this
harvest is derived from wild and naturally growing resources. The
genetic improvement of medicinal plants to produce higher yields
and more active ingredients might help fulfil the increasing demand
for medicinal plants. Medicinal plants are one of the most
important sources of life-saving drugs for the world’s
population. Increasing global demand for herbal medicines is
accompanied by a dwindling supply of medicinal plants due to
over-harvesting. Biotechnological interventions play a significant
role in the improvement of crop yields and quality. Despite such
progress in plant molecular biology, only limited biotechnology
application has been seen in medicinal plants. Recent breakthroughs
in high-throughput approaches have revolutionized this research
area and shifted the focus towards omics approaches, such as
genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. This book
discusses these technologies. Currently, there is no existing
publication that focuses on omics and medicinal plants.
The author has created a modular program for practitioner
certification in Constitutional Facial Acupuncture. This book
supports the program, and can be used as a self-contained course in
the skills covered. Constitutional Facial Acupuncture is a safe,
painless and effective treatment for renewing the face and the
body. Fine lines may be entirely erased, deep lines reduced and
bags around the neck and eyes firmed. This protocol is based upon
the use of acu-muscle points and Wakefield explains in detail how
to use these specially selected acupuncture points in tandem with
muscle structure. The constitutional underpins this approach to
facial acupuncture needling - every patient is treated according to
their specific constitutional pattern. Facial acupuncture differs
from cosmetic acupuncture in this way. According to Chinese
physiognomy, the shape of the face, its colouration and its
wrinkles are representative of the balance or imbalance of the
organ systems and the emotional core of the patient. Fine needles
are placed at a variety of acupuncture points on the face, neck and
around the eyes to simulate the body's natural energies (qi). Since
muscle groups are addressed as well as acupuncture points, the face
lifts itself, via the acupuncture points, through the muscles'
toning and tightening action. The needles also stimulate blood and
circulation, improving facial colour. The book will introduce a
complete facial and recommended constitutional treatment protocol
including needling instructions, charts and photos that will
clarify the details of the treatments. A full topical Chinese
herbal treatment for the face that can be integrated with facial
needling to achieve more impressive results will also be included.
Benefits, contraindications, recommended treatment duration and
frequency, short and long-term effects, maintenance treatments,
managing patient expectations will all be covered. The protocols
covered will be complete in and of themselves, and will provide
practitioners with information sufficient for them to successfully
become exponents of facial acupuncture. A new and detailed
Constitutional Facial Acupuncture protocol highlights acu-muscle
points, Shen imbalances, lines and wrinkles, needling technique,
relevant points and their locations. A comprehensive constitutional
treatment approach A customized, modular topical herbal protocol
that is enriched with the use of essential oils and natural
cleansers, creams, etc. Practical step-by-step instructions on how
to integrate the needling protocols with the topical herbs, jade
rollers, gem eye discs, etc. A complete Constitutional Facial
Acupuncture needling protocol for 12 problematic areas of the
facial landscape, i.e., droopy eyelids, sagging neck, crow's feet,
sunken cheeks, etc. Contraindications, benefits, and personal
advice drawn from the author's 30+ years of experience An essential
text for students or practitioners of facial acupuncture, and also
for those readers who are interested in the field of "healthy
aging"
