This seventeenth volume of the Evidence-based Clinical Chinese
Medicine series aims to provide a multi-faceted 'whole evidence'
analysis of the management of Colorectal Cancer in integrative
Chinese medicine.Beginning with overviews of how colorectal cancer
is conceptualised and managed in both conventional medicine and
contemporary Chinese medicine, the authors then provide detailed
analyses of how colorectal cancer and related disorders were
treated with herbal medicine and acupuncture in past eras.In the
subsequent chapters, the authors comprehensively review the current
state of the clinical trial evidence for Chinese herbal medicines
(Chapter 5), acupuncture (Chapter 7), other Chinese medicine
therapies (Chapter 8) and combination Chinese medicine therapies
(Chapter 9) in the management of colorectal cancer, as well as
analyse and evaluate the results of these studies from an
evidence-based medicine perspective. Chapter 6 provides a review
and a summary of the experimental evidence for the bioactivity of
commonly used Chinese herbs. The outcomes of these analyses are
summarised and discussed in Chapter 10 which identifies
implications for the clinical practice of Chinese medicine and for
future research. This book can inform clinicians and students in the
fields of integrative medicine and Chinese medicine regarding
contemporary practice and the current evidence-base for a range of
Chinese medicine therapies used in the management of colorectal
cancer, including herbal formulas and acupuncture treatments, in
order to assist clinicians in making evidence-based decisions in
patient care. The following features mark the importance of this
book in the field:
Have we medicated our faith? Have we replaced our faith in God with
quick fixes? When we are sick, do we reach for the medicine only?
Or do we also reach toward heaven to the One who made us? There has
been a consistent increase in the amount of medications Americans
are consuming over the past decades, and the numbers continue to
increase. If faith increased at the rate that the intake of
prescription drugs increased, miracles would become the norm, and
healing would be an everyday occurrence. When Jesus was on the
earth, faith in His ability to heal, out measured medications. Now
we have more medicines than we have faith. The scales have tipped
over. Jesus proposed this question to the disciples. "Nevertheless
when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" It
seems that the world's faith in God continues to diminish instead
of growing. When the Lord returns to the earth, I pray that He will
find faith in the earth. The Lord is not against His children
seeking the help of physicians and medicines, but He also wants His
children to seek His help and "Don't medicate your faith "
It's not often that deer ticks carrying Lyme disease receive
credit for changing someone's life, but that's exactly what
happened to author and Reiki master Dane Boggs. In Reiki Awakening,
he shows how two tick bites and two different diagnoses led him on
his path to spiritual awakening.
Using personal anecdotes culled from his health journal and
stories from others, Reiki Awakening focuses on the miracles Boggs
experienced and the lessons he learned during his spiritual
transformation. He narrates the story of his Reiki awakening, which
occurred in September of 2007; meeting his spiritual teacher in May
of 2008; and practicing a healing modality that led him to a path
of greater enlightenment.
Boggs shares the details of his experience to encourage others
to tap into the healing energy of the universe to gain the
opportunity for greater peace, comfort, and bliss in life-to become
an enlightened soul.
If you are trying to overcome addiction, obesity, fatigue, and
other medical problems, then it's important to look at all options,
including alternatives to traditional medicine. Dr. Anthony J.
Alosi spent almost forty years as a medical doctor in private
practice, but now he also helps his patients through alternative
means. Hypnosis, hypno-birthing, relaxation techniques, proper
nutrition and exercise, and looking after the body as a whole
instead of individual parts are often the best ways to solve
difficult ailments. The knowledge and advice in this guidebook can
help you stop smoking, lose weight, give birth without feeling
pain, reduce or eliminate back and neck pain, and overcome
insomnia. By taking an integrated approach, it's possible to solve
a multitude of physical and mental problems. Sometimes, you can
eliminate problems altogether just by changing how you think about
things. Take action now to eliminate the obstacles that prevent you
from fully enjoying life with proven guidance that will allow you
to be "Forever Healthy."

Perspectives of Ayurveda in Integrative Cardiovascular Chinese
Medicine for Patient Compliance, volume four in the Integrative
Cardiovascular Chinese Medicine series, provides a systematic
perspective of therapeutic priority by examining the homeostasis of
the body, mind and spirit through Ayurveda philosophies and
universal attributes, including five key elements. Holism, patient
compliance and ethics in medicine are discussed, as are
responsibility, awareness and guidance for compliance in cardiac
patients. Finally, strategies of compliant patients outline and
compare Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for dietary laws and
recovery techniques, utilizing both systems for personal benefit
and what compliance means and looks like in clinical settings. This
important reference will aid cardiovascular researchers in the
study of integrative Chinese and Western medicine, while also
providing a clear, structured base to guide clinical practice and
encourage collaboration between practitioners.
For three long years, the entire Kuhn family suffered through a
mysterious illness that no doctor could identify. They had been
everywhere and tried everything. MRIs, CT scans, diagnostic
ultrasounds, panels of blood work, hormone testing, urinalysis; you
name it, they did it. Visiting general practitioners, emergency
room doctors, specialists in every field of medicine and several
different hospitals provided no answers. They were in trouble. Dr.
Rob Kuhn, his wife, Wendy, and their three children, Alex, Nick,
and Nolan, rode this rollercoaster of misdiagnosis and
non-diagnosis nearly all the way to their graves. Finally in May of
2008, through a truly synchronistic event, they discovered that
they were being attacked by a deadly biotoxin. At last, they had an
answer. Sadly, the new challenge became the fact that traditional
medicine has a very poor track record in treating biotoxic illness.
Another solution had to be found. In Return to Health, Dr. Kuhn
shares with you the challenges that his family faced and how they
were able to overcome them through the use of functional medicine
techniques. Inspired by his own health turnaround, he changed the
focus of his practice and began taking care of people with chronic
conditions. Now board certified in integrative medicine, Dr. Kuhn
enjoys the rewarding feeling of helping people whose health
problems are the worst of the worst. Autoimmune conditions, type-II
diabetes, fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism, biotoxic illness, and those
strange mystery conditions are all in a day's work for this natural
healthcare physician. This situation may sound familiar to you. You
may be watching your health deteriorate while getting no answers.
If you have been suffering with health problems that nobody has
been able to figure out, read Return to Health.

Two thousand five hundred years ago, Tibetan monks developed a
series of just five exercises, called "rites," which heal and
rejuvenate. This is Peter Kelder's "lost" 1946 "Eye of Revelation"
with new information about these Tibetan Rites and their history.
The fifteenth volume of the Evidence-based Clinical Chinese
Medicine series examines the management of chronic heart failure
with Chinese medicine using a 'whole evidence' approach. Readers
are provided with an overview of the current management of chronic
heart failure with both conventional medicine and contemporary
Chinese medicine. This is followed by a detailed analysis of how
chronic heart failure was viewed and managed in past eras.Evidence
from clinical studies is systematically reviewed and analysed to
evaluate the potential benefits of Chinese herbal medicines and
other Chinese medicine treatments for people with chronic heart
failure. A review of experimental studies highlights some of the
mechanisms of actions of a selection of the most frequently used
Chinese herbs. The outcomes of analyses are presented and discussed
in the final chapter and we identify implications for contemporary
practice and promising areas for future research. This book provides
clinicians and students in the fields of Chinese and integrative
medicine with a comprehensive synthesis of traditional and
contemporary knowledge that can inform clinical decision-making.
