Jeff Chandler and Orson Welles star in this 1950s Western from director Jack Arnold. Wealthy tyrant Virgil Renchler (Welles) rules over cow town Spurline from his Golden Empire ranch. When his henchmen kill a young worker, Sheriff Ben Sadler (Chandler) investigates but meets resistance not only from those responsible but also from the local people who are afraid their town will suffer without Renchler's business.
Jason Isaacs stars in this psychological thriller directed by Gore Verbinski. When an organisation receives news from their CEO saying that he has taken up residence in a remote wellness centre in rural Switzerland, a young executive (Dane DeHaan) is tasked with bringing him home after the board believe he has lost his mind. When he arrives at the centre however, the young man quickly realises that there is something rather sinister going on and when he tries to leave he finds himself lying in a bed with a broken leg and no way out. Roger Moore and Ray Milland star in this 1970s action drama. Rod Slater (Moore) becomes involved in a web of intrigue following a rock fall at a South African gold mine owned by Harry Hirschfeld (Milland), in which general manager and veteran miner Frank Lemmer (Norman Coombes) is killed. Hirschfield's managing director, Manfred Steyner (Bradford Dillman), is plotting with financier Farrell (John Gielgud) to flood the Big Dyke, thus destroying the mine and raising the value of gold worldwide, and tricks Slater into excavating the seam of gold beyond the river. Meanwhile, Slater becomes passionately involved with Steyner's wife (Susannah York), unaware that the scheme hatched by her husband will result in his death.
Babysitter Chris (Elisabeth Shue) sets off to rescue her best friend Brenda from a seedy downtown Chicago bus stop, taking the neighbour's kids - the hormonal Brad, Daryl and nine-year-old Sara - along for the ride. Gillis then gradually becomes trapped in Norma's bizarre fantasy world, and when he tries to leave her, she makes an attempt at suicide. The film also features silent screen legends Cecil B. DeMille, Buster Keaton and Erich von Stroheim in supporting roles.
On board the Orient Express as it pulls out of the Gare De Lyon is a man named Poole, who has stolen an important political diary and is being pursued by two people who want it back. Valya wants the diary to avenge her father's political assassination, while Zurta is the thief who acquired it for her. Poole throws them off the trail by hiding the diary in the compartment of pompous author Alastair McBain.

Luc Besson directs this biopic about Burmese pro-democracy activist Aung San Suu Kyi, played in the film by Michelle Yeoh. With the unwavering support of her husband, Oxford academic Michael Aris (David Thewlis), Suu Kyi sacrifices the peace and security of family life in England to lead the struggle to bring democracy to her native country, and put an end to the violence, corruption and human rights abuses that have come to characterise Burmese politics.
BBC feature drama adapted from Jane Austen's classic novel. When Catherine Moorland (Katharine Schlesinger), a young woman who enjoys reading Gothic novels, visits Bath with friends of the family, she meets the charming Henry Tilney (Peter Firth) and later befriends him and his sister, Eleanor (Ingrid Lacey). They invite her to their home, the mysterious Northanger Abbey, but, so engrossed in the books she reads, Catherine is certain the Abbey will be full of intrigue which leads her to imagine a fantastical story about the death of Henry's mother. After revealing her thoughts to Henry, Catherine fears she may have lost his affections forever.
Collection of five musicals from the 1940s and '50s. 'Annie Get Your Gun' (1950) stars Betty Hutton as backwoods sharpshooter Annie Oakley. Plucked out of obscurity by Buffalo Bill (Louis Calhern), the rough-edged Annie is groomed for a leading role in Bill's world famous Wild West show. However, Annie has a rival in the form of rifleman Frank Butler (Howard Keel), a man she soon falls in love with. Songs include 'Anything You Can Do' and 'There's No Business Like Show Business'. In 'Easter Parade' (1948) Fred Astaire plays one half of a dance team who is ditched by his partner. Deciding he can make a star out of anyone he wants, he chooses a lowly chorus girl (Judy Garland) as his new partner. Songs include 'A Couple of Swells', 'Stepping Out With My Baby' and 'Shaking the Blues Away'. In 'Calamity Jane' (1953) Doris Day stars as the famous frontierswoman, who would rather hit targets than chase men - until she falls for 'Wild Bill' Hickok (Keel). However, he would rather shoot Indians than chase after a tomboy like Calamity Jane. Songs include 'The Black Hills of Dakota' and the Oscar-winning 'Secret Love'. 'High Society' (1956), based on 'The Philadelphia Story' play by Philip Barry, stars Grace Kelly as socialite Tracy Lord who, even as she prepares for her second marriage, still has obvious feelings for her ex-husband (Bing Crosby). She also strikes up a friendship with a reporter (Frank Sinatra), who has been sent to cover her society wedding. Songs include 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' and the famous Crosby/Sinatra duet 'Well, Did You Evah'. 'Meet Me in S.Louis' (1944) follows Esther Smith (Garland), a young woman from St. Louis who falls in love with the boy next door. The film is set in 1904, when the city hosted the World's Fair. Songs include 'Meet Me in St. Louis', 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' and 'The Trolley Song'.

Debut film for everyone's favourite psychotic slasher, Freddy Krueger. When American teenager Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) begins to suffer from nightmares, she discovers that many of her friends are having similarly disturbed nights' sleep. Their dreams are haunted by the hideously scarred former child murderer Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) who, it soon transpires, has the power to kill them in their sleep. Freddy is out to exact his revenge on the children of those who burned him alive in retribution for his crimes. The only way to avoid Freddy's reprisals is to avoid sleep, but Nancy knows that she can't stay awake for ever.
Pia Marais' semi-autobiographical debut feature recounts the adolescence of Stevie (Ceci Schmitz-Chuh), a resourceful 14-year-old girl who finds methods of her own to cope with the unstable upbringing afforded her by her hippy parents. When the family moves to a small town in Germany, Stevie attempts to forge a normal life for herself. While her parents spend their days dealing drugs, getting high and filling the house with aimless hangers-on, Stevie does her best to make an impression on her new classmates, weaving her own narrative of an imaginary homelife that is stable, comfortable and conventional.
Temptation proves too much for a member of a religious community in this drama directed by Carlos Reygadas. While living in a Mennonite community in Mexico, married father Johan (Cornelio Wall), admits to his wife Esther (Miriam Toews) that he's been having an affair with fellow member Marianne (Maria Pankratz). With adultery forbidden by his faith, Johan faces a deep moral dilemma, complicated further by his belief that he's falling in love with Marianne. The situation worsens when Johan's father, made aware of the situation, announces that Johan has fallen under the spell of the devil.
From Paul Thomas Anderson comes the outrageous epic that throws the covers back on California's adult entertainment industry in the swinging seventies. It's a touching and often humorous portrait of a most unusual family of filmakers, and the film was nominated for 3 Oscars, including Best Supporting actor for Burt Reynolds and Best Supporting Actress for Julianne Moore.
