French family feud drama directed by Gilles Legrand. Paul de Marseul (Niels Arestrup) is the owner of a successful vineyard, but is unhappy about the prospect of his son, Martin (Lorànt Deutsch), taking over. Bitter towards Martin and belittling him at every opportunity, Marseul seeks another more suitable person to run his vineyard. When the foreman's son, Phillipe (Nicolas Bridet), arrives it seems Marseul has found his heir, but the arrival of Phillipe only causes more feuds between Marseul and his biological son, resulting in some unexpected consequences.

1950s British crime thriller. Robert Matthews (Emrys Jones) is arrested in Cornwall when he is mistaken for convict John Barlow, to whom he bears a striking resemblance. Mark Rosenblatt directs 'Henry VIII', with Dominic Rowan as Henry, Miranda Raison as Anne Boleyn and Ian McNeice as the powerful Cardinal Wolsey. Finally, Christopher Luscombe directs 'The Merry Wives of Windsor', with Christopher Benjamin as the loveable rogue Sir John Falstaff, and Serena Evans and Sarah Woodward as the scheming mistresses Page and Ford.

Monica (Mitchell) ended up in prison after taking the fall for a crime masterminded by her lover, David (Terence Morgan), while Stella Jarvis (Collins) was sent to jail for prostitution and Mrs Quilliam (Harrison) was put away for shoplifting, having been too poor to afford food. The three women agree to meet for dinner to discuss their first day of freedom - if they can survive its temptations and avoid heading straight back to jail, of course.

Collection of four silent comedies from Japanese director Yasujirô Ozu. 'Days of Youth' (1929), Ozu's earliest surviving feature, follows a love triangle between two college friends (Ichirô Yuki and Tatsuo Saitô) as they both try to win the affections of a girl (Junko Matsui) they meet on a skiing holiday. In 'I Flunked, But...' (1930) a student (Saitô) does anything he can to get out of doing revision. In 'The Lady and the Beard' (1931) recently graduated traditionalist Kiichi Okajima (Tokihiko Okada) shaves his old-fashioned beard when he falls for a modern woman and, as he pursues her, attracts the attentions of two other women. In 'Where Now Are the Dreams of Youth?' (1932) Taichiro Saiki (Saitô)'s friendships are threatened when he takes over his father's company and employs three of his former university buddies. As a new dynamic is added to Taichiro's relationship with the others, their friendships come under strain, eventually leading to a disturbing climax. |
