Leigh Whannell writes and directs this supernatural suspense horror prequel starring Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott. Bob Hope stars in this Christmas comedy as Sidney Melbourne, a race track con man who offers a friendly 'sure thing' horse tip to the girlfriend of mobster Moose Moran. When the horse loses and Moose's original pick wins, Moose gives Sidney until Christmas to pay back the money he lost or his thug, Sam-the-Surgeon, will 'open' Sidney after Christmas. To pay back the money he owes Moose, Sidney enlists some pals to hit the street corners of New York dressed as Santa Claus accepting donations for a bogus elderly ladies' home. Things get complicated when gangster, Oxford Charlie (Lloyd Nolan) tries to move in on Sidney's scam.

Pierce Brosnan's third outing as Bond sees him come up against another dangerous nemesis - Renard (Robert Carlyle), a power-crazed terrorist intent on taking control of the world's oil supplies. Bond has his work cut out defeating Renard, as the villain has a bullet lodged in his brain which renders him immune to any pain. As his mission grows more perilous Bond also encounters sultry oil heiress Elektra (Sophie Marceau), and nuclear scientist Christmas Jones (Denise Richards).
The second and final of Timothy Dalton's outings as James Bond sees 007 leave Her Majesty's Secret Sevice and branch out on his own. The trouble begins when drug baron Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi) makes an unexpected appearance at the wedding of Felix Leiter (David Hedison), Bond's good friend, leaving the groom maimed and the bride dead. Bond has no choice but to seek his revenge and, with a little help from the obligatory 'Bond girl' (Carey Lowell) and the ever-present Q (Desmond Llewellyn), sets out after the villainous Sanchez. Causing a storm on its release because of its violence and dark plot, the film was originally given an 18 certificate before studio cuts.

As the security team of the Las Vegas hotels refuse to take the threat seriously, Blart takes it upon himself to find the crooks and catch them in the act, proving to himself and everyone around him that he's still got what it takes to be a good security guard. The cast also includes Eduardo Verastegui, Daniella Alonso and David Henrie.

Ingrid Bergman and George Sanders star in this romantic drama co-written and directed by Roberto Rossellini. Wealthy English couple Katherine Joyce (Bergman) and her husband Alex (Sanders) travel to Italy to sell a villa they have inherited. Far from their London home, Katherine confesses to having had a secret lover and finds her husband becomes even more distant with her; to such an extent that they decide to finish their holiday apart. Whilst Alex enjoys the company of other expatriates on the island of Capri, Katherine tours around the sights of Naples and Pompeii. However, the different events they experience begin to bring the couple back together.

Adaptation of Vera Brittain's autobiography. In 1913, Brittain (Alicia Vikander) is set to take up a place reading English at Somerville College, Oxford, but with the outbreak of the Great War and the enlisting of her fiancé (Kit Harrington) and brother Edward (Taron Egerton), she instead opts to sacrifice her studies and become a volunteer nurse, working at the Western Front. Here Brittain witnesses the harsh realities of war first hand, undergoing a series of horrific experiences which will have a lasting influence on her life.

Collection of futuristic sci-fi action features directed by Albert Pyun. In 'Nemesis' (1992), set in 21st-century Los Angeles, a disillusioned cyborg police officer (Olivier Gruner) is forced out of retirement to bring his former partner Jared (Marjorie Monaghan) to justice after she begins stealing highly-sensitive security information. Alex is tasked with recovering stolen data relating to an upcoming international summit which Jared plans to sell to a terrorist group known as the Red Army Hammerheads, who are plotting to kill government officials. But in his pursuit of justice, Alex begins to question the conflicting loyalties he experiences between his employer, former lover and the supposed terrorist organisation. In 'Nemesis 2 - Nebula' (1995), set 73 years after the events of the first film, cyborgs are now ruling the world and have enslaved the human race. The only hope offered to them is through a team of scientists who claim to have invented a super strain of DNA which will produce a mutant human so powerful it can destroy all robots. However, when the cyborgs discover this threat to their power, they enlist bounty hunter Nebula (Chad Stahelski) to eliminate it. In 'Nemesis 3 - Time Lapse' (1996), Alex (Sue Price) wakes up with amnesia and has to piece together her fractured memories, including the rescue attempt of her sister who has travelled back in time to save her. Finally, In 'Nemesis 4 - Death Angel' (1996), Alex is working as an assassin when she mistakenly kills the son of a major crime boss and is forced to fight for her life after her employer Bernardo (Andrew Divoff) places a 100 million dollar bounty on her head.
Cult Jamaican classic starring reggae star Jimmy Cliff as Ivanhoe Martin, a country boy who comes to Kingston to make it big in the music industry. Hampered by payola and music industry corruption, Ivanhoe turns to ganja-dealing to try and make ends meet. Events spiral out of his control and he soon finds himself on the run from the police. The celebrated soundtrack is peppered with reggae classics by the likes of Toots and the Maytals, Desmond Dekker, The Melodians and Cliff himself who performs, among others, the title track and the timeless 'Many Rivers to Cross'. |
