During the Second World War, Air Commodore Waltby is flying to Allied Command Headquarters with an attaché case packed with information that could stave off an invasion by Germany. Divine portrays Lady Divine, a drag queen who travels around the country with her sideshow 'Cavalcade of Perversions' which showcases all kinds of bizarre fetishes and perverse behaviours. When she tires of her usual routine, she decides to murder all of her paying customers instead of just robbing them. The film follows Divine over the course of a day after she learns of her husband Mr. David (David Lochary)'s affair. She experiences a number of contrasting sexual encounters before finding a lover, named Mink (Mink Stole), who joins Divine on her quest to confront and kill her husband.
Cleavon Little plays an escaped black convict who ends up being given the poison chalice job of the new Rockridge Sheriff by scheming railroad developer and politician Hedley LaMarr (Harvey Korman). Notionally sent in to protect the ungrateful Rockridge community from marauding gangs, his only ally turns out to be alcoholic former gunslinger The Waco Kid (Gene Wilder). Though initially expressing racial prejudice the townsfolk eventually adopt the Sheriff to help them outwit Hedley LaMarr, deciding to construct an exact replica of their town to fool the invading posse. The film descends into postmodern chaos as the action spills out of the film set into wider Hollywood.
Double bill of documentaries from British film-maker Marc Isaacs. 'Someday My Prince Will Come' (2005) looks at life in a small coastal town in Cumbria and follows a young girl and her cousin as they share memories from their childhood and begin to think about what the future may hold. 'Philip and His Seven Wives' (2005) tells the story of Philip Sharp, an ex-rabbi attempting to build a new godly family in his quiet suburban neighbourhood. Believing he has communicated directly with God, Sharp claims he is a former Hebrew king and therefore entitled to take seven wives.
Abel Gance writes, directs and stars in this epic silent French drama about Napoleon Bonaparte's early career. The film follows the young Napoleon (Albert Dieudonné/Vladimir Roudenko) as he attends the elite military school Brienne College, joins the French Army, witnesses the French Revolution in 1792 and takes part in the First Italian Campaign, during which time he becomes increasingly influential in French politics and meets his future wife Joséphine (Gina Manès).

With nothing but revenge on her mind, Sin-Dee spends the entire night searching the city for the cheating couple.
Animated feature for the Fab Four. The Beatles - John (voiced by John Clive), Paul (Geoffrey Hughes), George (Peter Batten) and Ringo (Paul Angelis) - are shocked to be transported to a world inhabited by the evil, apple-wielding Blue Meanies. Travelling to Pepperland in their yellow submarine, the foursome attempt to halt the Meanies reign of terror by showing them that all you really need is love. The real Beatles make a cameo appearance at the end of the film.

Joseph J. Lawson directs this family film following the adventures of a dog who is left home alone at Christmas. When his owners head to visit relatives for the Christmas holidays they are disappointed that they have to leave their beloved dog Bone behind. However, given that a pair of burglars plan to break into houses that are without their owners for the holidays, it is perhaps just as well that Bone is around. The resourceful dog quickly turns the tables on the burglars, using every trick imaginable to try and repel them from his territory. Davis Cleveland and David DeLuise star.
Dramatic reconstruction of two key naval battles fought in the early days of the First World War. During the Battle of Coronel in November 1914, gunfire between the two nations resulted in the Germans sinking two British ships, HMS Monmouth and HMS Good Hope, causing the fatalities of 1600 sailors. To enact their revenge, a month later Britain sent two battle cruisers, Inflexible and Invincible, to engage the Geman fleet in the Battle of the Falkland Islands. Led by Vice Admiral Sturdee (Craighall Sherry), this time they were victorious and sank the German cruisers SMS Scharnhorst and SMS Gneisenau. The feature also includes an original score composed by Simon Dobson and performed by 24 members of the Royal Marines Band Service.
War drama starring Michael Caine. During World War II Captain Douglas (Caine) is sent to North Africa to lead a small group of mercenaries into the desert to knock out an enemy fuel reserve. However, there is friction between the Captain, veteran Colonel Masters (Nigel Green) and Cyril Leech (Nigel Davenport), head of the hired mercenaries, as they disagree on how to successfully carry out the mission. Things go from bad to worse when they find out that their assignment is a booby-trapped suicide mission, which threatens to end in pointless bloodshed.
Japanese anime series featuring the voice talents of Nao Toyama and Ryota Ohsaka. When the Devil King Satan (Ohsaka) is sent to the other world - modern-day Tokyo - after a battle with Hero Emi (Yoko Hikasa), part of his punishment is that he must pay his way with conventional methods. Resulting to a job in a fast food restaurant Satan must work out a way to kill his nemesis and get back home.

In 'Notting Hill' (1999), Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) is the world's most famous movie star, whilst divorcee William Thacker (Grant) owns an ailing travel bookstore in his local neighbourhood of Notting Hill. One day Anna buys a book from William's shop and later collides messily with him on a street corner. She accompanies him home to clean herself up, and from there springs an unlikely romance. However, the path of true love is littered with obstacles, not least the media, the adoring fans and the differences in their lifestyles. |
