Didier Drogba is best known for his career at Chelsea, whose supporters voted him the club's greatest ever player, where he scored more goals than any other foreign player and is the club's fourth highest goal scorer of all time. He became the only player in history to score in four separate FA Cup finals when he scored in Chelsea's win over Liverpool in the 2012 final. Drogba has captained the Ivory Coast national team since 2006 and is the nation's all-time top goal scorer with 62 goals. He captained the team in the World Cup in 2014. He was named African Footballer of the Year in 2006 and 2009. In October 2013, he became the first African footballer to win the prestigious Golden Foot while playing for Galatasaray. This cartoon book biography describes the childhood and schooldays of little 'Tito', his first visit to France, how he had to study and get away to play football. It follows him to his first successes with the teams of Le Mans and Guingamp, his happy time with Olympic Marseilles and his initial reluctance to move to Chelsea. Meanwhile, he falls in love and becomes a father. He is also badly affected by the crisis that breaks out in Ivory Coast and, at an early age, he shows his hatred of violence and war. The images are vividly drawn and the story is full of humour and excitement. His key attributes include his physical strength, ability in the air, and retaining possession of the ball. This book will be appreciated by lovers of football from the age of 8 to 80.

Children are used to hearing about how important it is to protect nature, but they may not fully understand how the natural world can positively impact their emotional wellbeing. With that in mind, this book shows children how nature can be fun, uplifting, consoling and even offer companionship. This is a book about how nature can touch us all and help us with our lives (especially when we might be feeling bored, sad or lonely). Children learn about the ways in which they can be comforted, inspired and uplifted by examples of nature such as: a flowing river a cow in a field clouds in the sky rabbits in their burrows stars at night a cuddle with a favourite puppy This is an inspirational book, not just educating children about the natural world, but teaching them to love and connect with it. Beautiful illustrations and a tone that is encouraging, warm and accessible makes it easy for children, and their favourite adults, to relate to.

Christine Brennan, the USA Today sports columnist, author, and commentator, uses her voice to advocate for diversity and equality in the world of sports, and her wisdom to encourage future journalists. Her passion for sports was sparked by her dad, who encouraged her to participate in athletics and, as he said, "smell the game"--go watch baseball and football games together. As a child, Christine wrote daily entries in her diary and listened to play-by-play coverage on her radio. She pursued this love of words through journalism school and applied her passion for sports by reporting on them for various newspapers. Since then, she has portrayed the setbacks and triumphs of athletes, all the while fighting her own battles for success--and respect--as a female journalist. From knocking down barriers in NFL locker rooms to covering every Olympics since 1984 to being the go-to commentator whenever scandal occurs in the sports world, Christine Brennan has done it all. Eye to Eye invites young readers to learn more about this remarkable journalist and perhaps to nurture their own dreams of investigating and telling important stories.

During the sweltering summer of seventeen-year-old Paul Volponi's life, he had only goal-he wanted, no, needed to become a legitimate and respected New York City street basketball player. It was a passion that consumed him night and day, and at times even isolated him from his friends and family. So he entered through the gates of the Proving Ground, the roughest streetball yard in the city. It was a place where the fouls resembled felonies, and the atmosphere mirrored that of the Roman Coliseum more than Madison Square Garden. It was where teens and adults contested pickup games with a ferocity seemingly greater than that of the NBA Finals. The Proving Ground was a difficult place to cultivate friendships and an easy environment to make enemies. This is the story of Paul's summer-long initiation at the Proving Ground. It is truly a streetball testament of a teenager who wanted more than anything else to earn his stripes in streetball society. Only what he didn't understand at the time was that this experience would deliver to him, as it does today for so many young adults, a set of skills that would enhance his life far beyond the boundaries of a basketball court.
