The Ferrari 512S, and its successor the 512M are among the most
iconic of Ferrari sports-racing cars. These cars competed against
Porsche's all-conquering 917 in 1970 and 1971 - a rivalry
immortalised in Steve McQueen's film Le Mans. The car was powered
by a 5-litre V-12 engine, and was driven by an impressive portfolio
of drivers including Mario Andretti, John Surtees, Clay Regazzoni,
Jacky Ickx, Ronnie Peterson and Derek Bell. Although the
performance of the Porsche and Ferrari were very similar, the
Porsche 917 benefitted from greater reliability, and the Ferraris
were unable to challenge the dominance of the German manufacturer
before the rules were amended for 1972, effectively outlawing the
5-litre-capacity engines used in both the Ferrari 512 and Porsche
917. In spite of only winning a single World Championship race -
the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1970 - the Ferrari 512S/M has secured a
place as one of the most charismatic sports-racing cars ever built,
and the sight and sound of a restored example in full flight today
still turns heads.
Your one-stop manual for every aspect of DIY motorcycle
electrical repair and modification. We've all stood at the front
desk of a repair shop at some point, staring at an invoice,
gritting our teeth and nursing our injured wallets. All vehicles
will inevitably need maintenance - and we pay a premium in labor
fees every time we take them in - but unlike an automobile, which
has its electrical components hermetically sealed within its
bodywork, the electrical components on a motorcycle are on display
for all the world to see. Out in the open, they are constantly
subjected to destructive elements like rain, sand, salt, dust, and
ultraviolet rays . . . virtually everyone who owns a motorcycle
will eventually have to deal with electrical problems. In "How to
Troubleshoot, Repair, and Modify Motorcycle Electrical Systems,"
motorcycle expert Tracy Martin provides crystal-clear, fully
illustrated, step-by-step instructions for every electrical repair
imaginable on a bike--from the nuts-and-bolts basics to
fuel-injection systems, onboard computers, repair and installation
of factory and aftermarket accessories, and everything else in
between. Complete with 600 full-color, how-to photos and 20 helpful
diagrams, "How to Troubleshoot, Repair, and Modify Motorcycle
Electrical Systems" will keep your bike on the road and your wallet
in your pocket.
The Land-Rover was the first British four-wheel-drive vehicle of
its type. Having enjoyed world-wide success with numerous models,
variants and modifications, this book takes the reader through the
acquisition and restoration of a typical Land-Rover, with detailed
descriptions and illustrations of the processes needed to
thoroughly renovate, and improve the vehicle. The book includes
tips on what to look for when buying this type of vehicle, how to
renovate bodywork and chassis, how to strip out and replace
interiors and how to overhaul engine, electrical components and
suspension systems.

Haynes disassembles every subject vehicle and documents every step
with thorough instructions and clear photos. Haynes repair manuals
are used by the pros, but written for the do-it-yourselfer.
The 41/2-litre Bentley is one of the most iconic pre-war cars, and
the supercharged 41/2-litre 'Blower' Bentley is today one of the
most sought-after and most valuable cars for collectors. The
'Bentley Boys' won several high-profile races in Bentleys, and
Woolf Barnato and Bernard Rubin won with a 41/2-litre car in 1928.
Five supercharged 'Blower' Bentleys were built to compete at Le
Mans, but the car's Achilles Heel was its reliability, and it never
won the 24-hour race. This Manual provides details of the
41/2-litre unsupercharged and 'Blower' Bentley racing cars,
detailing their period racing history, anatomy and engineering, and
providing an insight into owning, maintaining and running an
example of this iconic car today. Illustrated with period
photographs and design and engineering material, plus photographs
of restored examples in use today.

If you are aspiring to build a racing car, How to Build
Motorcycle-engined Racing Cars could be the book that you've been
waiting for! Tony Pashley revisits the path that he took in the
Pashley Project articles in Race Tech magazine during the design
and construction of two successful hillclimb cars, but this time in
great detail, with a view to enabling the reader to carry out a
similar exercise for themselves. Although hillclimb and sprint cars
are the focal topic, a lot of the book is applicable to race cars
in general. The cars under discussion in the book are powered by
motorcycle engines, which are meeting with great success in the
smaller racing car classes. The total process of building a car is
described, beginning with the selection and procurement of the
engine. Chassis and suspension design is covered in a simplistic
but adequate manner as the author's aim is to minimize the
inclusion of involved calculations. Two recipes for chassis
construction are illustrated in detail, along with guidance on the
processes of construction and a description of the required
equipment. Following on from this, the fabrication of the
suspension is explained. Further chapters are dedicated to the
remaining aspects of the vehicle, covering transmission, brakes,
fuel and coolant systems, and electrics. The book is heavily
illustrated with 200 photographs and extensive explanatory diagrams
and tables. It is a vital addition to any would-be kit car
builder's library.
