LIFT UP YOUR EYES is a book of daily devotions written by a
Christian pastor who over a lifetime of ministry has come to know
the hungers and hurts, the hearts and hopes of humanity.
It consists of 374 one-page devotions chosen from over two
decades of religious columns written for the Saturday editorial
page of the Temple Daily Telegram, by the Rev. Clyde E. Nichols,
Minister Emeritus of the First Christian Church (Disciples of
Christ) of Temple Texas where he served as senior minister for 23
years from 1963 to 1986.
The book contains 365 devotions, one for every day of the year,
plus eight for movable holidays (Martin Luther King Day, Easter,
Thanksgiving, etc.). Each of the devotions is matched with a
carefully chosen memory verse from the Bible.
Using wonderful stories, humor, Scripture and anecdotes, this
book speaks to the real life situations we all confront and helps
us do a better job of meeting them. Each of the daily devotions is
calculated to lift the spirit, focus the mind, and bring a more
positive perspective on all we are facing. It is for young and old
alike-children, teenagers, adults, senior citizens.
Kept on the coffee table or night stand, LIFT UP YOUR EYES can
be read daily with one's devotions or picked up, opened anywhere,
and read two or three at a time for comfort, challenge, personal
growth, self-development and self-esteem.
To spend a year with LIFT UP YOUR EYES is to grow in the grace
of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In Bill Vincent's more than 20 years of ministry, there has been
countless spirits and demons that he has personally been allowed by
God's grace to overcome in many people's lives. There have been
various kinds but none as dangerous as the spirit of Jezebel. This
book is as no other Bill has written because of the history of
dealing with this spirit so many times over the years. The Church
doesn't need to take this lightly. Bill brings this timely message
several ways to bring clarity. This book isn't just for light
reading, don't just skim the surface because there is much that the
Holy Spirit is releasing through this book. In the years, Bill has
learned a great deal more about this principality, this strongman,
and how it operates. After writing "Defeating the Demonic Realm"
Bill never thought he would be releasing a book this powerful again
concerning spiritual warfare. We need to understand failure to
address the weaknesses and sinful responses have wreaked havoc in
the lives of men and women everywhere. The Jezebel Spirit must be
overcome before it destroys you!
The Spirit of Love and The Spirit of Prayer are two of William
Law's best known texts for Christians seeking guidance on their
faith and inspiration in their everyday lives. The first work takes
the form of a dialogue between three men - Theogenes, Eusebius, and
Theophilus, who discuss the nature of love in humanity. The trio
discuss love in relation to the other human emotions and
experiences, followed by the qualities of the love which man
expresses to God his deity, and Jesus Christ as the Lord and savior
of all men. To better understand the love of God, the three create
many hypothetical scenarios involving the behavior of individuals.
They also find agreement on what circumstances that love, and the
associated phenomena of forgiveness, may arise. Frequent references
made to holy scripture which the three conversation partners have
at hand.
War on the Saints is Jessie Penn-Lewis's masterwork, wherein she
outlines the occurrences of Satan within the Christian world, and
the eternal battle between good and evil. The book aims to prepare
and assist Christians who are caught unguarded against the
onslaught of evil and deception which has ensued for thousands of
years. In so doing, the reader will - assuming they heed the advice
upon these pages - be better equipped versus the various obstacles,
trickery and evils that Satan and his ilk will hurl in the path of
the righteous. Penn-Lewis firmly believed that the devil was a
master manipulator, with a keen knowledge of when and who to target
in his schemes. Several of the chapters within this book detail the
different techniques employed by Satan, and how to guard against
them. Quotations of Scripture abound, boosting the author's
authority and lending much credence to her arguments.
In the back of many Christians mind, they will question whether or
not to return back home as the Prodigal Son did according to the
scriptures. In this practical but biblical examination of where you
stand with God, you'll get a clear picture of the calling that God
has for you before the foundation of the world. "Prodigal Son,
Prodigal Daughter, Come Back" home will show you that God has the
final say so in your life. He is standing at the door waiting for
you to return to a powerful life of unexpected moments with Him.
You can become a powerful instrument of God's love both to the
church and a dying world through reconciliation. We can hear His
voice, know His heart and understand His will for our lives but are
we ready to truly return back home. The purpose of God's
interaction with His creation can be summed up in one word,
restoration. It does not matter what happen in the past, what
matters now is the next step that you are going to take in coming
back home.

Many of the available resources for teaching courses on feminist
spirituality either come from the 1980s to 1990s or are written by
the same authors as those earlier texts, thus showing us a
progression of spiritual beliefs and practices of 'second-wave'
feminists. This is useful, but when addressing this topic with
university students it is also important to show the ways in which
spirituality has been rethought by 'third-wave' feminists. This
rethinking can be found in various small circulation 'zines, but
these are not always accessible to a wide audience. This anthology
addresses the experiences of third-wave feminists in the
construction and reformulation of spirituality. It examines the
experiences of young feminists and others who have been influenced
by second-wave feminist spirituality and engaged in developing and
critiquing themes of Goddess religion, queer theory, protest
movements, and popular culture.
Kevin Cann's book is about understanding God ideas vs. Good ideas.
God gives each person His ideas. The difficult part is determining
if the idea is from our Spirit or Soul. I want to help the Body of
Christ find their God idea and share it with the world.
