Cutting-edge explorations and discussions of DMT experiences and plant sentience from leading luminaries in the field of psychedelic research. Encounters with apparently sentient beings are reported by half of all first time users of the naturally occurring psychedelic DMT, yet the question of DMT beings and plant sentience, interspecies communication, discarnate consciousness, and perhaps even dialoguing with the divine has never been systematically explored. Offering cutting-edge insights into this visionary domain, this book distills the potent exchange of ideas that occurred at Tyringham Hall, including presentations and discussions on DMT entities, the pineal gland, the possibility of DMT as a chemical messenger from an extraterrestrial civilization, the Amazonian shamanic perspective on Invisible Entities, morphic resonance, and the science behind hallucinations. Contributors to the talks and discussions include many leading thinkers in this field, including Rupert Sheldrake, Rick Strassman, Dennis McKenna, Graham Hancock, Jeremy Narby, Erik Davis, Ede Frecska, Luis Eduardo Luna, Peter Meyer, Jill Purce, David Luke, and Cosmo Feilding Mellen, among many others.

The Mother of Creation is a universal concept and appears in many guises: Divine Mother, Holy Spirit, Goddess of Light, Shakti, Mary, Madonna, etc. This is the divine feminine of the Mother which is beloved by many. Throughout the ages, artists have recorded their spiritual visions. Think of great masters like Michelangelo and Da Vinci. Consider William Blake who was ridiculed in his life but is now revered. His visions were extraordinary and included Adam and Eve. They had a basis in truth. The Mother is also portrayed through many forms of art. But this is not just the religious and Renaissance art of western civilisation. Sacred art is everywhere. Music also has a vital role in this renaissance. Sacred music has evolved through the centuries - from western classical composers to the mystical traditions of India and the East. Music is a universal language of passion and feeling. The world is enriched by music in all its many forms. Art can be combined with music to increase its appeal to the spiritual self. So that a meditation on the Mother or Spirit - that combines art and music in this way - may help a person towards a state of enlightenment. This is an enlightenment to the Spirit of Truth - the Mother - who is instrumental in the renaissance of Man. The Spirit is the Helper and Comforter - and with us forever. So that we can live in the grace of the Spirit.

You will learn about the man, his work, his passion, his tenacity and lucidity' Marcel Marceau 'Petit outlines a whole approach to life. The lessons are simple, universal. Be committed. Feel alive. Give everything' Independent In cities you travel to, always remember to visit the highest monument. Remain at the top for many hours, looking into the void. In this poetic handbook, written when he was just twenty-three, the world-famous high-wire artist Philippe Petit offers a window into the world of his craft. Petit masterfully explains how preparation and self-control contributed to such feats as walking between the towers of Notre Dame and the World Trade Center. Addressing such topics as the rigging of the wire, the walker's first steps, his salute and exercises, and the work of other renowned high-wire artists, Petit offers us a book about the ecstasy of conquering our fears and reaching for the stars. Mindfulness in Motion is a major new approach to managing stress, anxiety and depression and gaining unprecedented self-awareness through body-centred mindfulness. Drawing on the techniques used in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, the latest research in neuroanatomy and Eastern martial arts traditions, Dr Tamara Russell has created a unique practice to help you cope more effectively with the most challenging emotions and feelings. Dr Russell has used these techniques effectively in a clinical setting with sufferers of manic depression as well as in corporate settings with managers experiencing a high degree of stress and with elite athletes looking to integrate seamlessly body and mind. Because her approach is grounded in the body Dr Russell has found it effective for people who find a traditional ?sitting still? meditation approach very difficult. Chapter by chapter, the book explores how we can slow down, engage in the present moment, train our attention, understand ourselves and be truly at ease. Each chapter is full of diagrams, thought-provoking and informative illustrations (such as time-lapse photography and brain neuroimaging) and simple exercises and breathing techniques that anyone can perform. Many of the exercises (such as ?mindful walking? or the ?day of pausing?) can be fitted into your daily routine; others, such as ?mindful backward swimming?, offer a fresh and intriguing approach to the concept of exercise. For the first time, brain neuroimaging is used to prove the beneficial effects of physical and mental exercise. This ground-breaking book makes accessible to everyone the healing power of meditative practices supported by the latest scientific evidence.

Interpretation is the key to the art of Tarot reading. This pack includes a Tarot deck and an easy-to-use book which explains the key concepts of the cards in simple terms that the reader will find easy to remember and then put into practice in a reading. The Tarot has a 500-year history and most Western and Eastern cultures have created their own unique decks. The cards in this set, exquisitely illustrated by artist Emma Garner, express the rich imagery and symbols of the Tarot in a way that is both stunning and immediate. There are eight different card arrangements to try laying out, plus essential information on timing a reading; this is often omitted in Tarot instruction guides, even though the first question asked of a Tarot reader is often 'When will these events happen?'. Particular attention is also paid to interpreting the 'people' or Court cards of the Minor Arcana, as these are often stumbling blocks for the new reader. Armed with the knowledge in this book, the reader will be able to make sense of a complete reading for him or herself or a friend, and use these inspiring cards to solve problems, identify opportunities, and ultimately divine the future.
The Japanese Tea Ceremony is a detailed examination of the five-centuries-old tea ceremony--or Cha-no-Yu in Japanese, literally "hot water for tea"--a cornerstone of Japanese culture and a core practice of Zen Buddhism. Framed by intricately choreographed steps, the tea ceremony is as much about the search for enlightenment as it is about serving tea. Within the serenity of the tea room, the ceremony, with its highly formal structure, becomes an object of focus for meditation. As the water is heated and the tea is served, the ultimate goal is losing the sense of self while gaining inner peace. The path to mindfulness runs through the center of the tea ceremony. Abundantly illustrated with over 160 drawings and 40 color photos showing every aspect of the ceremony, this book takes readers on a complete tour of furniture and utensils, teahouses and gardens, and numerous other features of Cha-no-Yu. It also delves into the many disciplines included within the broader framework of the tea ceremony--Japanese art, calligraphy, flower arrangements, architecture, gardening, and exquisite handicrafts. Learn more about the experiences of masters of the tea ceremony over the centuries and histories of the various schools and traditions of the art of tea. Full-color photos of tea bowls, teahouses, and gardens reveal the exquisite artistry of the cult of tea and this important Japanese tradition. With a new foreword by award-winning author Laura C. Martin, The Japanese Tea Ceremony is a fascinating exploration of the ritual and Zen philosophy of one of Japan's greatest customs, truly "an epitome of Japanese civilization."

The ability to move from the ordinary into an altered state of consciousness is one of the most valuable skills in both magic and religion. From the ceremonial magician to the shaman, using trance work to explore inner realms is essential to the magical process of healing, transcendence and wisdom desired throughout diverse occult and spiritual traditions. "Trance-Portation" offers a comprehensive and multi-spirited way to enter the inner realm. Blending the modern world with the ancient arts, "Trance-Portation's" first three chapters, Travel Planning, Crossing the Threshold, and Getting Started, offer preparatory suggestions including meditations and relaxations, breathing, warding, shifting gears, and returning.Drawing on examples from varied traditions, from Western Mystery to Native American, Ancient Celtic to Eastern Mysticism, and peppered with folk lore and tales from popular science fiction stories, "Trance-Portation" explores spiritual journey work extensively, offering readers the chance to find their own ways into the inner realm, encounter their own guides and fellow travellers, and create divine relationships with the deities and gods and goddesses that they meet. From the book: 'We are all born with the potential to use our inner senses as well as our outer ones, to transcend the limitations of the selves we thought we knew. This is the Way of Power, but rather than seeking power over others, through this training we seek the power to help others do the same, and in doing so, to nourish, rather than stunt, our own souls.'
A practical and inspiring approach to tackling our environmental crisis, from a master spiritual teacher. We can heal our earth by choosing a simpler, more fulfilling lifestyle, as trustees of a compassionate universe. Eknath Easwaran presents a penetrating analysis of the spiritual roots of our current predicament and offers a realistic and hopeful way forward. Each of us has a role to play in making wise choices, and each of us can genuinely make a difference. Drawing inspiration and insight from Mahatma Gandhi, Saint Francis, and his own experience of living in the East and the West, Easwaran shows the connections between individual thoughts and actions that move beyond consumerism to the unity of life. Mahatma Gandhi formulated a series of diagnoses of our seemingly perpetual state of crisis, which he called "the seven social sins": knowledge without character, science without humanity, wealth without work, commerce without morality, politics without principles, pleasure without conscience, and worship without self-sacrifice. Easwaran explores each of these diagnoses in turn and presents an alternative hypothesis of who we are and how we fit into the universe. This is ecology as a great adventure, filled with the challenges and rewards of inner growth. Easwaran tells us that "once we open our eyes to cooperation, artistry, thrift, and compassion, we begin to see thousands of little things we can do to help restore the environment - and restore dignity and deeper fulfillment to our own lives." Eknath Easwaran is renowned as a teacher of meditation and for his translations of the Indian scriptures. His writings express timeless spiritual insights and are illustrated by stories from East and West. His books reflect two cultures: India, where he grew up in a self-supporting agrarian village, and the United States, where he taught and lectured for over thirty years. His early experiences of living in harmony with nature, his firsthand acquaintance with Gandhi's India, and his long familiarity with an American audience have resulted in this book: a deeply thoughtful examination of our present situation, and a blueprint for living as trustees of a compassionate universe, in a world that we would want our children and grandchildren to inherit.
Disruptive practices to revolutionize your relationship with meditation and fully engage with the full breadth of your experience. Why do we meditate? The main reason most modern people start meditating is because it helps us feel better--reducing anxiety, improving sleep, decluttering the mind, and so forth. "But where does your meditation go when things go bad?" asks Andrew Holecek. "Where is your spirituality when 'rock meets bone, ' as they say in Tibet--when the crap hits the fan?" Reverse Meditation is for anyone who wants to bring the challenges of life onto the path of awakening. When things get hard, it's time to turn your practice on its head--and throw out any assumption that meditation exists to insulate you from the confusion, difficulties, and uncertainty of life. "By putting your meditation into reverse," Holecek teaches, "you'll actually find yourself going forward. Step into your pain and you can step up your evolution." With his signature blend of depth and accessibility, Holecek invites you to explore: - Three core forms of meditation--mindfulness, open awareness, and the boundary-smashing reverse meditations - How to know when you're ready to engage with reverse meditation - On-the-spot practices for snapping into a meditative mindset in difficult situations - Contraction and expansion--how to dismantle habits of avoidance to become more open, resilient, and fully alive - How reverse meditation opens you to a direct experience of the fundamental perfection of reality--just as it is "These unique meditations are designed to reverse our relationship to unwanted experiences, which means going directly into them instead of avoiding them," says Andrew Holecek. "It's not an easy journey--yet this path leads to the discovery of unconditional happiness, basic goodness, and true freedom in the most turbulent situations."
Mindfulness isn't just meditation - it can be used everywhere and at any time. When we begin to apply mindfulness to our lifestyle as a whole, we begin to build a more conscious relationship with the things we eat, the spaces we spend time in, the way we move our bodies and the stories we tell ourselves. The concept of 'Wellfulness' means using mindfulness for greater wellness in body and mind. Through the practice of conscious acceptance and conscious change; being mindful is at the core of wellness, be it within food, movement, values, rituals, habits, mindset, our inhabited spaces or our relationships. The Wellfulness Project is a manual for mindful living, combining personal experience, mindfulness theory and ritual tools to create a practical guide to achieving a more harmonious relationship with our wellness and wellbeing.
It is largely unknown that The Calendar of the Soul first appeared as the second part of a "calendar." It begins with an introduction by Steiner on what a calendar is -- a way of connecting past and future, earth and cosmos. It is important to get a sense of the movements of the Sun and Moon in relation to the planets and fixed stars. It is also important to bring the past into the present by invoking great beings in the evolution of consciousness on their appropriate birth or death days, and to celebrate the Holy Days. Steiner designed new zodiacal images for each month, traced the phases of the moon, and specified significant people, events and/or festivals for each day. By living into the year in this way, one is ready for the meditative year as expressed by the weekly verses of the "soul calendar."The introduction describes the original "calendar" and how it came to be. Included is a reproduction of the original, a translation of Steiner's introduction, and the Calendar of the Soul. |
