Filled with beautiful color photographs, "Divine Mushrooms and
Fungi" is a must-have for anyone who wants to step into the magic
mushroom field of ethnomycology. With detailed information on how
to distinguish magic mushrooms from potentially dangerous
lookalikes, this guide also features a detailed history of the
ritual use of magic mushrooms among pre-Columbian inhabitants of
the New World and the evolution of the use of psychedelic fungi
from sacred rituals to today's recreational use. Common epithets
used for naming mushrooms around the world are accompanied by
photographs and descriptions of both magic mushrooms and their
poisonous lookalikes. An ideal companion for mushroom-gathering
forays, "Divine Mushrooms and Fungi" provides readers with the
sacred knowledge that can lead to a visionary experience.
Equips Christian counselors and therapists to confidently use
mindfulness techniques with their clients in a way that is both
practical and biblical. Accessing mindfulness is a therapeutic
touchstone for a range of emotional issues, from mild distress to
the treatment of trauma, but the term mindfulness has often left
Christians wary. Stripped of Christlike spirituality, it sounds
self-focused at best, and at worst like a fusion with modern
pop-religions of the day. But the quality of mindfulness-of being
fully present, aware of ourselves and our situation so that we can
better respond to the chaos around us-is a profoundly biblical
concept. And it can be used effectively by Christian counselors and
healing practitioners. In A Counselor's Guide to Christian
Mindfulness, Regina Chow Trammel (a clinical social worker) and
John Trent (a marriage and family therapist) team up to offer
training in mindfulness skills used in evidence-based practices,
such as dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment
therapy and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. These therapies
have been shown to be highly effective in the treatment of many
mental health issues, blending elements of neuroscience, social
science, and religious training. This book is the ideal resource to
equip those in the helping professions to faithfully use
mindfulness interventions both professionally and personally and
includes: A historical and theoretical overview of Christian
mindfulness and how it contrasts with other mindfulness-based
practices. A practical guide for how to use mindfulness skills in
counseling and therapeutic practice. A section addressing specific
challenges or situations that your clients face. Dialogue scripts
and contemplation exercises to adapt for your own work. The
practice of Christian mindfulness can be effective in helping
clients manage their intrusive and stressful thoughts, emotions,
relationships, and challenges. This book fills a gap for Christian
counselors and therapists who are eager for a resource that teaches
mindfulness skills from a Christian and biblical perspective.

practices summarize and reiterate the clinical material for the
reader, and afford expansion toward oneself and /or one's clinical
caseload. No matter what form it takes to move towards a creative
opening, the reader will find that this book will aid you in moving
yourself and your patients into the exploration of art, yoga, and
well-being. This interoceptive research (going within) facilitates
an expansion towards self and others and ensures that expansion,
whether making art, practising yoga or working with disease. May
this book move you and your patients toward that trajectory of
sattva and well-being.

Although the energetic anatomy of men and women is different, the
ancient teachings of Nu Dan, a separate branch of internal alchemy
for women, have been lost in the literature over the centuries and
only survive through practice in the lineages. This book takes a
detailed look at female energetic anatomy, exploring how it is
different from its male counterpart, and explains and describes the
specific practices which support the unique strengths and
challenges that the female energy system presents. Previously
wrapped in secrecy, the teachings in this book include qigong
exercises that activate the energy of the uterus and an explanation
of how menstruation and a connection to the cycles of the moon can
be converted into a tool for Nei Gong development.
In spiritual teacher Osho's Aspects of Meditation Book 1: The Body,
the First Step, you'll discover a deeper understanding of
meditation through an investigation into the subtle workings of the
mind, focusing on the body. The West has taken to meditation with
great enthusiasm. We contemplate. We concentrate. We embrace
mindfulness techniques and a multitude of mantras. We have
undertaken to "do" meditation. The Aspects of Meditation series is
comprised of brief, precious texts in which Osho shows us the core
of meditation is not about sitting silently or chanting a mantra.
It is, instead, a question of understanding the subtle workings of
the mind. In Book 1, Osho re-introduces us to our body, focusing on
the "root" of the human, the soul.
Have you ever noticed how cruel and self-sabotaging your critical
inner voice can be? Have you been looking outside of yourself for
friends and loved ones to reassure you of your worthiness and
lovability? The latest developments in neuroscience unveil the
amazing extent to which humans are wired for connection, belonging
and resonance with other humans. This wiring for connection is so
strong, our nervous systems have the capacity to become our own
compassionate self-witnesses, even when we have not had access as
children to stable loving presence and warmth. The field of
neurobiology and the science of mindfulness reveal that the human
brain is capable of being engaged in the experience of upset (fear,
anxiety, depression) while simultaneously observing and holding
ourselves with kindness, as a loving parent or partner would. This
ability to be both experiencing and holding the experience is the
key to maintaining inner calm in the face of life's challenges. If
we learn to honour that each and every inner voice, no matter how
distressing, has the desire to help us, we open to the possibility
that each part of us has value. This help creates a gentle,
accepting and warm resonance with ourselves that can remain stable
and present, even when parts of us feel upset. In simple language
and easy-to-follow exercises, Your Resonant Self synthesises the
latest discoveries in brain science, trauma treatment and the power
of empathy into an effective healing method that literally rewires
our brain and restores our capacity for self-love and well-being.
Each chapter weaves the core concepts of neurobiology with guided
meditations and beautiful illustrations, painting an inspiring
picture of the human brain's inherent yearning towards healing and
wholeness.
Dr. Eben Alexander, author of international phenomenon Proof of Heaven, shares the next phase of his journey to understand the true nature of consciousness and how to cultivate a state of harmony with the universe and our higher purpose.
In 2008, Dr. Eben Alexander's brain was severely damaged by a devastating case of bacterial meningitis, and he lapsed into a weeklong coma. It was almost certainly a death sentence, but he miraculously survived and brought back with him an astounding story. During those 7 days in coma, he was plunged into the deepest realms of consciousness and came to understand profound truths about the universe we inhabit. What he learned changed everything he knew about the brain, mind, and consciousness and drove him to ask a question confounding the entire scientific community: How do you explain the origins of consciousness if it is not a byproduct of the brain? His challenge relates to a revolutionary shift now underway within our modern scientific understanding. Ultimately, direct experience is key to fully understanding how we are all connected through the binding force of unconditional love and its unlimited power to heal.
In Living in a Mindful Universe, the New York Times bestselling author of Proof of Heaven and The Map of Heavenshares his insights into the true nature of consciousness. Embracing his radically new worldview, he began a committed program of personal exploration into nonlocal consciousness. Along the way, he met Karen Newell, who had spent most of her lifetime living the worldview he had only just discovered was possible. Her personal knowledge came from testing various techniques and theories as part of her daily routine. With Living in a Mindful Universe, they teach you how to tap into your greater mind and the power of the heart to facilitate enhancement of healing, relationships, creativity, guidance, and more. Using various modalities related to meditation and mindfulness, you will gain the power to access that infinite source of knowing so vital to us all, ultimately enriching every facet of our lives.

Music CD in a Digipack which includes a 16-page booklet which
provides information about the musicians, their philosophy and
their instruments! Music for me can take on many forms. I play for
many reasons, mainly because I love music. I love the high, the
beautiful place it takes me, the feeling during and after I play.
This to me is meditation. Being in the moment and at one with my
own being. No thoughts just allowing the music to come through me.
There are some techniques I use and have discovered on this musical
journey, some of which I will discuss in the next section. Running
time 61 minutes, 55 seconds.
"A POWERFUL WORK OF SPIRITUALITY AND ANTI-RACISM"-Publishers Weekly
"IF YOU READ ONE BOOK IN 2020, MAKE IT THIS ONE."-Tricycle From
much-admired meditation expert Sebene Selassie, You Belong is a
call to action, exploring our tangled relationship with belonging,
connection, and each other You are not separate. You never were.
You never will be. We are not separate from each other. But we
don't always believe it, and we certainly don't always practice it.
In fact, we often practice the opposite-disconnection and
domination. From unconscious bias to "cancel culture," denial of
our inherent interconnection limits our own freedom. In You Belong,
much-admired meditation expert Sebene Selassie reveals that
accepting our belonging is the key to facing the many challenges
currently impacting our world. Using ancient philosophy,
multidisciplinary research, exquisite storytelling, and razor-sharp
wit, Selassie leads us in an exploration of all the ways we
separate (and thus suffer) and offers a map back to belonging. To
belong is to experience joy in any moment: to feel pleasure, dance
in public, accept death, forgive what seems unforgivable, and
extend kindness to yourself and others. To belong is also to
acknowledge injustice, reckon with history, and face our own
shadows. Full of practical advice and profound revelations, You
Belong makes a winning case for resisting the forces that demand
separation and reclaiming the connection-and belonging-that have
been ours all along.
The New York Times bestselling book that both galvanizes
progressives for action and is a balm--from the Pulitzer
Prize-winning author "A light in darkness, Alice Walker awakens us
to our own power as only she can. . . . Once again, Walker has
exceeded our expectations." --The Atlanta Journal-Constitution When
the United States recently exploded with unprecedented
demonstrations challenging racial violence and hatred, Alice
Walker's New York Times bestselling We Are the Ones We Have Been
Waiting For was one of the books to which people turned for
inspiration and solace. Called "stunningly insightful" and "a book
that will inspire hope" by Publishers Weekly, this work by the
author of The Color Purple is a clarion call to activism--spiritual
ruminations with a progressive political edge, that offer a moment
of care and solace. Walker encourages readers to take faith in the
fact that, despite our daunting predicaments, we are uniquely
prepared to create positive change. Drawing on Walker's spiritual
grounding and her progressive political convictions, the book
offers a cornucopia of the Pulitzer Prize winner's writings and
speeches on advocacy, struggle, and hope. Each chapter concludes
with a recommended meditation to teach patience, compassion, and
forgiveness. Walker's clear vision and calm meditative voice--truly
"a light in darkness"--has struck a deep chord among a large and
devoted readership.
