The Suzuki MethodA(R) of Talent Education is based on Dr. Shinichi
Suzuki's view that every child is born with ability, and that man
is the son of his environment. According to Dr. Suzuki, a
world-renowned violinist and teacher, the greatest joy an adult can
know comes from developing a child's potential so he/she can
express all that is harmonious and best in human beings. Students
are taught using the "mother-tongue" approach. Suzuki Violin School
materials include: Violin Parts (Vol. 1-10) * Piano Accompaniments
(Vol. 1-10) * Cassettes (Vol. 1-3 performed by Shinichi Suzuki,
Vol. 4-8 performed by Koji Toyoda) * Compact Discs (Vol. 5-8,
performed by Koji Toyoda) * David Cerone Performs Suzuki Violin
School (Cassettes & Compact Discs, Vol. 1-4) * David Nadien
Performs Suzuki Violin School (Cassettes and Compact Discs, Vol.
1-4). Suzuki Method Core Materials available for piano, violin,
viola, cello, string bass, flute, harp, guitar, and recorder.
This easy step-by-step method emphasizes correct playing habits and
note reading through interval recognition. Lesson Book 1B begins by
reviewing the concepts taught in Lesson Book 1A, then introduces
new concepts such as incomplete measures, tempo markings, eighth
notes and rests, using the damper pedal, half steps and whole
steps. It also introduces the major scale through the concept of
tetrachords.
Position Pieces for Cello is designed to give students a logical
and fun way to learn their way around the fingerboard. Each hand
position is introduced with exercises called "Target Practice,"
"Geography Quiz," and "Names and Numbers." Following these
exercises are tuneful cello duets which have been specifically
composed to require students to play in that hand position. In this
way, students gain a thorough knowledge of how to find the hand
positions and, once there, which notes are possible to play. Using
these pieces (with names like "I Was a Teenage Monster," "The Irish
Tenor," and "I've Got the Blues, Baby"), position study on the
cello has never been so much fun!

into an all-new story about Beethoven Bear, Mozart Mouse and the
Magical Music Book. Students will enjoy the imaginative story while
applying what they have learned from Music Lesson Book 1. This
section of the book is a ready-made recital when a narrator reads
the story and students perform the pieces in the appropriate

George Lawrence Stone's Stick Control is the original classic,
often called the bible of drumming. In 1993, Modern Drummer
magazine named it one of the top 25 drumming books of all-time. In
the words of the author, this is the ideal book for improving
"control, speed, flexibility, touch, rhythm, lightness, delicacy,
power, endurance, preciseness of execution, and muscular
coordination," with extra attention given to the development of the
weak hand. This indispensable book for drummers of all types
includes hundreds of basic to advanced rhythms and moves through
categories of single-beat combinations, triplets, short roll
combinations, flam beats, flam triplets and dotted notes, and short
roll progressions.
The Schaum Note Speller has the unqualified testimonial of
thousands of teachers who pronounce it 'The Best.' Musical facts,
beginning with line and space numbers are taught. Students learn by
doing, since this book is in workbook form. This saves valuable
lesson time, and immediately shows any mistakes in the beginner's
thinking.
