Marc Albrecht conducts the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra in this 2012 production of Rimsky-Korsakov's opera. Svetlana Ignatovich stars as Fevroniya, a young peasant who prays that the city of Kitezh will become invisible so that it will be saved from the invading Tatars. Though her wish is granted, Svetlana is taken by the enemy. The rest of the cast includes John Daszak, Vladimir Vaneev and Maxim Aksenov.
The Royal Opera House give a live performance of Hector Berlioz's opera based on the poem, 'Aeneid', by Virgil. The story chronicles the collapse of Troy and the love affair between Enée (Bryan Hymel), a Trojan who eventually becomes a Roman ancestor, and Didon, Queen of Carthage (Eva-Maria Westbroek). The prophetess, Casssandre, is portrayed by Anna Caterina Antonacci and her betrothed prince, Chorèbe, by Fabio Maria Capitanucci. Antonio Pappano conducts the Royal Opera House Orchestra and Chorus.

A revival of Giuseppe Scarlatti's spritely comic Baroque opera, recorded at the authentically restored Castle Theatre in Ceský Krumlov where it was first performed in 1768. Voytech Spurný leads the period-instruments of the Schwarzenberg Court Orchestra, with performances by Lenka Máciková, Ales Briscein, Katerina Knezíková and Jaroslav Brezina.

The Ballet de l'Opera National de Paris mounted this production of the late Pina Bausch's dance-opera Orpheus und Eurydike, which Bausch had adapted from composer Christoph Willibald-Gluck and Ranieri de' Calzabigi's 1762 opera Orfeo ed Euridice. As the title suggests, it takes its basic narrative from the myth of Orpheus, and his courageous but ill-fated attempt to rescue his lover Eurydice (also known as Eurydike) from the jaws of the underworld. This particular production finds Yann Bridard dancing as Orpheus and Marie-Agnès Gillot dancing as Eurydike , with mezzo-soprano Maria-Riccarda Wesseling accompanying Bridard and soprano Julia Kleiter accompanying Wesseling. Pina Bausch did the choreography and stage direction, while Rolf Borzik designed the sets, costumes and lighting. The Balthasar-Neumann Ensemble & Choir, under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock, lend musical accompaniment.

Between 1917 and 1962, Pablo Picasso was involved in creating the designs for nine ballets including 'Parade', 'Pulcinella' and 'L'Apres-midi d'un Faune', in collaboration with such artists as Jean Cocteau, Erik Satie, Igor Stravinsky, Claude Debussy, Leonide Massine and Vaslav Nijinsky. Picasso, a native of Andalusia, also created the sets and costumes for the very Spanish ballet, 'Le Tricorne' ('The Three-Cornered Hat'). This release features the entire ballet along with a documentary which traces the story of Picasso's involvement with designs for ballet.

With an ensemble comprising 170 musicians, Ingo Metzmacher leads the Wiener Philharmoniker in this production of Bernd Alois Zimmerman's rarely performed opera, staged at the Salzburg Festival in 2012. The cast of 50 soloists includes Laura Aikin, Alfred Muff, Tanja Ariane Baumgartner and Tomasz Konieczny.
