The Story 'Why Me?' started years ago with me looking out of the window. That image stayed with me. Writing this down and adding to it every now and then, a story came about. Joining a Writers Group, I was shown how to have a book published. With adding a few poems, other memories and fiction, a publication of my work was done. Years ago a letter was a rare thing for me to write, now this. If you have a dream go for it. I did.

Paul Simmons was born in Ilford, Essex in 1957. He attended Brentwood School, and the University of Essex, where he gained a degree in English and European Literature. After seven years in the City of London Paul has worked in Local Government since 1989. This is his first collection of poems; a sensitive, subtle and original poetry of ideas, which seeks to be edifying and accessible.
