This book presents an analysis of the social aspects of Carl Gustav
Jung's thought and its followers, the interpretation of the
phenomena of contemporary social life (social imagery) from the
perspective of the main categories of this thought (archetype,
unconscious, collectivity, mass society, mass man). It also
contains an attempt of their application for understanding
contemporary social and political phenomena (e.g. Brazilian
sebastianism, Balkan conflicts, virtual-imagery sphere of
communication, figures of imagery in popular culture, and others).
The authors examine the relationship between Jung's and Jungians'
(E. Neumann, J. Hillman, J. L. Henderson) conceptions and many
accompanying them (e.g. Frankfurt school, Bachelard's philosophy,
American cultural psychoanalysis) and the background of
contemporary social psychology, sociology, and cultural
anthropology.
The Psychology of Learning and Motivation, Volume 74, the latest

architecture of human motivation: Personality systems interactions
theory, Teacher motivational messages used prior to examinations:

educational outcomes?, Understanding peer relationships during
childhood and adolescence through the lens of social motivation,
Self-efficacy and human motivation, The creation and curation of
all things worthy: Inspiration as vital force in persons and
cultures, and Motivational decision-making in achievement settings:

field, with this new volume presenting interesting chapters. Each

Aging and Creativity examines the effects of aging on creative
functioning, including age-related changes in cognition,
personality, and motivation that affect performance or output. The
book reviews and summarizes both lab-based and real-world-based
studies. Changes in working memory, speed of processing, learning
efficiency, and retrieval from long-term memory are all discussed
as factors influencing creativity, as are health changes and
changes in social roles with later age. The book concludes with
practical implications of age effects on creativity for older
people in work and everyday life.
Groundbreaking, insightful, and compulsively readable,
"Revolution in Mind" goes beyond myth and polemic to give us the
story of one of the most controversial and important intellectual
endeavors of the twentieth century. In this masterful history,
George Makari demonstrates how a new way of thinking about inner
life coalesced and won followers who spread this body of thought
throughout the West. Along the way he introduces the reader to a
fascinating array of characters, many of whom have been long
ignored or forgotten.
"Revolution in Mind" is a brilliant, engaging, and radically
new work--the first ever to account fully for the making of
psychoanalysis.
