The most important legacy a person can leave behind is reflected in
the lives they touch for Christ during their lifetime. After
serving the Seventh-day Adventist Church for more than 100 years in
different capacities, the Wilson family has left quite a legacy
that continues on today. The legacy began when William Henry Wilson
gave his heart to the Lord after hearing Ellen White preach at a
camp meeting in California. Although his time on earth was short,
he dedicated himself to studying God's word, and before he passed
away, he asked his sons to promise him that they would commit their
lives to serving the church. Nathaniel Wilson gave his word that he
would serve the Lord, and he did so in a mighty way, working in
various conferences in the States and serving overseas in Africa,
Asia, Australia, and India. Neal C. Wilson carried his father's
legacy forward and served in the Middle East and North America
before accepting the call to lead the world church. Along the way,
Neal mentored his son, Ted N. C. Wilson, who followed in his
father's footsteps and ministered in Africa, Russia, and currently
at the General Conference as president of the Adventist Church.
Four generations of Wilsons, along with their wives and families,
have stood firm in their commitment to God and their church. Highly
Committed traces the history of the Wilson family from William
Henry and Isabella Wilson through Ted N. C. and Nancy Wilson. Their
family's story is one of providential guidance and unwavering
commitment. May you be blessed as you read the story of this
God-fearing family, and may you be inspired to commit your life to
following God and making a difference for the kingdom
As a child, Maria Luisa Jimenez Edwards wanted to be a missionary.
It held an indescribable allure for her, an intrinsic pull that was
aching to spread the Good News of Jesus. In the pages of this book,
join her as she embarks on a personal and spiritually-challenging
journey to the jungles of Ecuador. It is virtually impossible to
describe a missionary life meaningfully to someone who has never
experienced it. She wants to encourage readers to find their own
paths to follow God as others, in the midst of utmost poverty, have
found.
As she wrote these stories she was inspired and challenged anew.
Years of participation in the western lifestyle has weakened a
passionate faith in a God of power and miracles. From the story of
a village of destitute women who dropped everything to come to the
aid of a grandmother dying of cancer, to the family who already had
seven children but chose to accept an orphan, you will also be
inspired by the faith of those who rely on God alone. You will see
opportunities to be a part of the miracle if you open your eyes to
God's vision.
The Love and Power of God proves that His Word conquers all,
bringing people together to arm themselves with unconditional love,
achieving wonders for themselves, their families and
communities.

This book is the first work that comprehensively presents the
accounts of Lia Eden, a former flower arranger who claims to have
received divine messages from the Archangel Gabriel and founded the
divine Eden Kingdom in her house in Jakarta. This book places Lia
Eden's prophetic trajectory in the context of diverse Indonesian
spiritual and religious traditions, by which hundreds of others
also claimed to have been commanded by God to lead people and to
establish religious groups. This book offers a fresh approach
towards the rich Indonesian religious and spiritual traditions with
particular attention to the accounts of the emergence of indigenous
prophets who founded some popular religions. It presents the
history of prophetic tradition which remains alive in Indonesian
society from the colonial to reform period. It also explores the
ways in which these prophets rebelled against two hegemonies:
colonial power in the past and Islamic orthodoxy in the present.
The discussion of this book focuses on Lia Eden including her
biography, claims to prophethood and divinity, the development of
her group Eden Kingdom, her challenge to Islamic orthodoxy under
the banner of the MUI (Indonesian Ulama Council), her persecution
by radical groups, her experiences in court trials and
imprisonment, and public responses to her emergence. The discussion
also covers other themes currently drawing public attention in
Indonesia, such as pluralism, religious freedom, tolerance,
discrimination against minorities, and secularisation.
