Holbein Soft Pastels are a range of carefully selected artist quality colours with a soft powdery consistency that glides smoothly onto paper. Richly pigmented, they offer excellent blending and covering power.

Colours are tested in line with the standards of Holbein’s watercolour range for the best possible lightfastness and are composed mainly of colours with no or minor discolouration. Batches of each colour are monitored to guarantee an even distribution of pigment and binder.

This set contains 36 assorted soft pastels in a selection of essential colours.

Each pastel is crafted with a broad range of pigments by hand with minimal natural binders. This renders highly concentrated, velvety pastels. The square shape delivers thick, broad strokes or thin, precise lines where necessary. The size of these pastels are approximately 1 1/2″ x 1/2″ x 1/2″. Because each pastel is handcrafted, the size and shape may vary slightly.

Unison's pastels contain very little binder, making them truly soft and smooth. They are mixed to meticulous recipes and are based on traditional pigments such as cadmiums, cobalts and natural and synthetic earths.

Pastels measure approximately 2-1/8" long × 5/8" diameter (54 mm × 16 mm). Sticks vary slightly due to the hand-making process.

The Caran d'Ache Neocolour I is a water-resistant wax pastel with excellent lightfastness which is useable on various materials including paper, wood, cardboard, glass, leather, fabric and stone. It can be dissolved in turpentine or used encaustically on hot metal. Can be combined with Neocolour II. This wax pastel is in the following colour: Metallic Phtalo. Green.
