We gave four web professionals a design brief: we asked them
each to plan, design, and implement a specific type of web site,
then write up all their design and development considerations - how
to be visually appealing while usable and accessible, how to
wireframe the sites, and how to develop them with usability and
accessibility in mind. The web sites are: A corporate site
(designed using CSS and templates on a Mac) A news portal (made
using PHP on a PC) An entertainment site (a visually appealing fan
site for the band U2, made using a Mac) A company intranet site
(made using ASP on a PC) The authors also take you through the
complete code for each site (including server-side functionality,
CSS, and Dreamweaver templates), which is available for download
from glasshaus. Using this book, you can learn from their work, and
multiply your own Dreamweaver knowledge.
