Wanneer die dertienjarige Daniel by die hondeskuiling opdaag om vir
honde te lees en sy leesvertroue op te bou, kruis sy pad met Stoffel,
’n steekhaarfoksterriër. Stoffel ontsnap en Daniel sit hom agterna.
Albei beland in ’n stormwaterpyp in ’n verlate veld. Vasgekeer in ’n
ondergrondse tonnel lyk Stoffel se kanse skraal om vir Oupa Solly op te
spoor; selfs skraler as Daniel se droom om op te hou hakkel. Maar ou
honde kan mos nuwe trieks leer...
