Understanding immunology is increasingly important in obstetrics and gynecology. This book explores the role of immunological processes in reproduction. It is organized into four sections: fundamentals of the immune system; the immunological paradox of pregnancy; clinical applications of immunology in obstetric and gynecologic practice, and immunopathology in obstetric and gynecologic practice. Written mainly for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists, the research results cited in the book are confined to human experimentation.
