A study of Caribbean literary Nobel laurete Derek Walcott's work as
a playwright. This aspect of Walcott's literary output is typically
neglected as his work as a poet is normally stressed. Author Viola
Davis originally wrote the book for her doctoral thesis at the
University of the West Indies. This is Davis' second book on
Caribbean literature. Her first, "The Creative Use of Schizophrenia
in Caribbean Writing" examine the works of Walcott, VS Naipaul,
Wilson Harris and Edward "Kamau" Brathwaite.
