Golden Open Acrylic Colour has an extended drying time, allowing you to work with your paint for longer. These colours are very versatile: they can be used directly from the tube for traditional styles and plein air painting, or for monoprinting and screen printing.
Open colours are workable for a similar length of time as professional oil colours (up to 100 times the drying time of regular acrylic paint). Unlike oils, you can use them without any strong solvents. You can blend, soften, shade, glaze, and use fine detail, and the paint will remain workable and wet. The range has a slightly softer consistency than Golden Heavy Body paints.

Golden Heavy Body Acrylic colours is the original line of Golden Artist Acrylic Colour, and is known for its exceptionally smooth, thick buttery consistency. It contains the largest assortment of unique pure pigments in a 100 percent acrylic emulsion vehicle available to the professional artist. These colours offer excellent permanency and lightfastness. There are no fillers, extenders, opacifiers, toners, or dyes added. Each Heavy Body colour is formulated differently depending on the nature of the pigment.
Please Note: Golden place a high priority on the health and safety of the artist's studio and materials. They feel the artists should be aware of any potential hazards, so Golden far surpass the required quantity of health and safety advice on their labels. Their products are not more dangerous, just more accurately labelled.
Golden Fluid Acrylics are highly pigmented acrylic colours with a consistency similar to heavy cream. Produced from lightfast pigments, not dyes, they offer very strong colours with very thin consistencies. No fillers or extenders are added and the pigment load is comparable to Golden Heavy Body Acrylics.
Unlike mixtures of heavy-bodied paints and water which can produce weak colour and films by dilution, Golden Fluid Acrylics contain high pigment levels suspended in an acrylic polymer vehicle. The result offers fine dispersion, high tinting strength, durability, flexibility, and good adhesion. Fluid Acrylics are ideal for spraying, brushing, pour painting techniques, and staining, and can be mixed with other Golden products. Blend with Golden Airbrush Medium for spray applications. Excellent for applying on fabrics.
