In 'Shinjuku Triad Society' (1995), when the Dragon's Claw gang from Taiwan attempts a take-over of the dope, extortion and prostitution rackets run by the ruling Japanese Yakuza, a lone cop predicts carnage. In a crusade against the gangs, the cop single-handedly attempts to stem the growing tide of violence. But, when he discovers that the cop's younger brother is in fact the lover of one of the gang leaders, chaos ensues. 'Rainy Dog' (1997) follows Yuuji (Shô Aikawa), a Japanese mobster holed up in Taipei working as a hitman for a Triad boss. Added to this complicated existence is the fact that his ex-wife has just dumped a young boy on his doorstep. As Yuuji continues to do business as usual, only a final, brutal shoot-out will bring him and the boy closer together. Finally, in 'Ley Lines' (1999), three boys attracted by the excitement of Tokyo city find themselves caught up in the notorious Shinjuku district and a gangster lifestyle they can't escape. Before long they find themselves on the wrong side of the local crime lord and start fearing for their lives.

British thriller written and directed by Ben Parker. After his small submersible ship gets into trouble while undertaking a secret recovery mission off the coast of North Korea, Swedish pilot Mats (Johannes Kuhnke) and his three-man US Special Ops team are left trapped underwater. Unaware if their support vessel has been captured by enemy forces, the crew face some important decisions as they attempt to find a solution before their time runs out.

Lou Diamond Phillips stars in this noir crime thriller. The film follows Detective Russell Logan (Diamond Phillips) as he is tormented by the so-called Pentagram Killer, Patrick Channing (Jeff Kober), who is terrorising Los Angeles. When he starts to hear a disembodied voice and the killings resume, Logan enlists local psychic Tess Seaton (Tracy Griffith) to help him capture the satanic serial killer.

Vittorio de Sica co-writes and directs this Italian drama starring Sophia Loren. In 1943, at the height of the Second World War, widowed shopkeeper Cesira (Loren) leaves her grocery store in Rome to escape the bombing of the Allies. Along with her teenage daughter, Rosetta (Eleonora Brown), she heads for her native, rural village of Ciociaria. The road is long and arduous but when they arrive in the mountains, the women meet Michel Di Libero (Jean-Paul Belmondo), with whom Rosetta quickly falls in love. When the Allied troops eventually leave Italy, Cesira decides to return to Rome with her daughter only for them both to experience the horrors of war that they had hoped to escape. The film won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign-Language Foreign Film while Loren won a BAFTA and an Academy Award for her performance.

Tomas Hanus conducts this Bayerisches Staatsoper production of Dvorák's fairy tale opera.

Classic late period film noir directed by virtuoso Orson Welles. A sweaty thriller set in a hellish border town, it stars Charlton Heston as Mike Vargas, the self-righteous Mexican cop who goes up against Welles' monumental Hank Quinlan, an old-time detective who fabricates evidence in order to mount a case based on gut-instinct. Famous for its incredibly choreographed seven-minute opening shot, Henry Mancini's powerful score, and the faded magnificence of the Quinlan character, it is often considered to be Welles' second masterpiece.

Comedy written by and starring Kristen Wiig as a hapless maid of honour struggling to keep things on an even keel in the lead up to her best friend's wedding. As a variety of mishaps, including mass food poisoning and a plane grounding, riddle Annie's attempts to help, she gradually finds herself usurped by Helen. When a young adventurer named Milo Thatch uncovers an old journal containing clues to the whereabouts of the sunken city of Atlantis, he wastes no time in putting together an expedition and setting off in search of the maritime metropolis. Heading deeper and deeper in their submarine, Milo and his crew brave many dangerous experiences, including a confrontation with a giant lobster, and are overjoyed when they finally find the underwater kingdom. Animated adventure based on the comic book 'Batman: The Court of Owls' by Scott Snyder. Meanwhile, Batman realises the Court of Owls may have been involved in his parents' deaths and is determined to get revenge. Through all they endure will father and son be able to reconcile their differences?

In Portland, Oregon, LA cop John Keem (Lee) is desperate for revenge after his former partner (David Mountain) is murdered by ruthless drug dealer Milverstead (Richard Norton). However, between him and justice stands Milverstead's second in command Ice (Bolo Yeung), a deadly and remorseless martial arts expert who will stop at nothing to protect his boss.
