Using clay animation as a way of illustrating the undocumented experience of the common people, film-maker Rithy Panh tells the story of how he and his family were taken from their home in the city and forced to work in rural labour camps as part of the Khmer Rouge's social engineering policies. Not only did Panh witness first-hand a number of atrocities, including routine executions and widespread malnutrition, as a result, his own father starved himself to death as a way of protesting against the regime. The movie received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.

Using this as a vantage point, he then rounds up what weapons he can and proceeds to lead his own war on the invading army.

Andris Nelsons leads the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in this 50th anniversary performance of Benjamin Britten's War Requiem. The piece was commissioned to mark the consecration of the new Coventry Cathedral, which was built after the original fourteenth-century structure was destroyed in a World War II bombing raid in 1940. 50 years after its premiere it returns to the cathedral to be performed, as it was on its first airing, by the the City of Birmingham Orchegstra, Chorus, and Youth Chorus. The featured vocalists are Erin Wall, Mark Padmore and Hanno Müller-Brachmann.

French director Jean-Luc Godard's deconstruction of the process of construction, both of film narrative and The Rolling Stones' song 'Sympathy for the Devil'. The film presents a collage for the viewer to engage with as they like. Interweaved is footage of the Stones in the studio, writing, rehearsing and recording the famous song, and footage of a group of Black Power protestors in a used car lot, brandishing guns and reading revolutionary tracts.

British drama which follows the relationship of a young couple.
