When massive spaceships are spotted hovering above planet Earth, the world stands in awe and wonder. Nicholas Ray directs this film noir adaptation of the novel by Dorothy B. Hughes starring Humphrey Bogart and Gloria Grahame. Troubled screenwriter Dixon Steele (Bogart) is given the opportunity to reinvigorate his failing career by creating a film adaptation of a trashy novel. After balking at the thought of actually reading it, Dixon hires Mildred (Martha Stewart), who he meets in a bar, to summarise the novel for him. They leave the bar together but when Mildred is found murdered the next day Dixon is the prime suspect. His only forthcoming alibi is from Laurel Gray (Grahame), who testifies to his innocence out of affection, rather than truth. As the pair fall helplessly in love, Laurel is haunted by the possibility that Dixon was the murderer.
Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard star in this adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy. After three witches foretell that Scottish nobleman Macbeth (Fassbender) will be king he becomes obssessed by the idea. Encouraged by his wife Lady Macbeth (Cotillard), his ambition becomes all-consuming and he kills the reigning monarch, King Duncan (David Thewlis). But Macbeth becomes a tyrannical ruler, filled with anxiety over who he can trust... The cast also includes Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Harris, Paddy Considine and David Hayman.
Lou Ferrigno returns to star as the mythological hero in this fantasy adventure sequel. Hercules (Ferrigno) is sent to Earth to save the planet after Zeus (Claudio Cassinelli)'s seven mighty thunderbolts are stolen, sending the Earth on a collision course with the Moon. As Hercules tries to recover the thunderbolts, that are hidden in monsters across the land, the resurrected warrior King Minos (William Berger) is summoned to stop him.

James Belushi and Tupac Shakur star as corrupt police detectives in this American crime thriller. When racketeering detectives Divinci (Belushi) and Rodriguez (Shakur) murder a drug dealer, who turns out to be an undercover Drug Enforcement Agency employee, they attempt to frame vagrant alcoholic Joe (Dennis Quaid) for the killing, using Divinci's girlfriend Cynthia (Lela Rochon) to falsely testify as a witness. D.W. Griffith co-writes and directs this epic and controversial account of the American Civil War and its aftermath. It tells the story of two families, the pro-Union Stonemans from the North and the pro-Confederacy Camerons from the South, and the way in which they are both caught up in the turmoil which befalls a sleepy Deep South town when Northern Abolitionists threaten to outlaw the slave trade which has existed there for years. Things go from bad to worse when Ben Cameron (Henry B. Walthall)'s little sister dies at the hands of Gus (Walter Long), a black farmhand, and Ben dons a Ku Klux Klan mask both to avenge her death and to come to the rescue of his beloved girlfriend Elsie (Lillian Gish), who has been kidnapped by a corrupt mixed-race governor.
Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper and Crispin Glover star in this American crime drama. Teenager John Tollett (Daniel Roebuck) strangles his girlfriend, Jamie (Danyi Deats), and leaves her body beside the river. 'Thunderball' was remade in 1983 when Sean Connery returned to the role of 007 in 'Never Say Never Again'.
Paul W.S. Anderson directs this thriller starring Jude Law and Sadie Frost. In a dystopian London docklands a gang of youths vie with each other for status within the violent, criminal subculture that exists around ram-raiding and joyriding. Law plays Billy, the King of Joyriders, recently released from prison who takes up with his old girlfriend, Jo (Frost), and is soon up to his old mischief. However, there is a new kid on the block in the shape of Tommy (Sean Pertwee), who sees ram-raiding as a business rather than a lark. Meanwhile the police are hovering around waiting for Billy to step out of line. |
