Alec Baldwin stars as Lamont Cranston, alias The Shadow, in this big screen adaptation of the popular 1930s radio series. Kahn has kidnapped the scientist father of the beautiful Margo Lane (Penelope Ann Miller), built an atom bomb, and threatened to destroy New York City unless a large ransom is paid. Originally released in the cinema as a portrait of early 1980s Britain, this fictionalized documentary about The Clash was disowned by the band after it was made and declared 'disgusting' by The Daily Mail. It is partly a study of the band and partly a story about a fictional fan, Ray Gange, who attends the band's concerts and becomes involved in the oppositional political culture of the day, joining in political demonstrations and attending the 'Rock Against Racism' tour. Over the course of the film, Ray follow the band to a number of different gigs and sees them perform such songs as 'White Riot', 'Tommy Gun' and 'London's Burning'.

Academy Award-nominated documentary detailing the horrors of the Cambodian genocide which occurred under the Pol Pot dictatorship of the late-1970s. Using clay animation as a way of illustrating the undocumented experience of the common people, film-maker Rithy Panh tells the story of how he and his family were taken from their home in the city and forced to work in rural labour camps as part of the Khmer Rouge's social engineering policies. Not only did Panh witness first-hand a number of atrocities, including routine executions and widespread malnutrition, as a result, his own father starved himself to death as a way of protesting against the regime. The movie received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.

War film following a small group of young Americans as they attempt to thwart a national invasion by the North Korean army. After closing down the American electrical grid, militant North Koreans fly into the United States with the intent of gaining control of the entire country, but when US Marine Jed Eckert (Chris Hemsworth) realises what is happening he gathers a small group together, including his brother Matt (Josh Peck), at his father's log cabin in the woods. Using this as a vantage point, he then rounds up what weapons he can and proceeds to lead his own war on the invading army.
