Forbidden to continue his travels through time and space by his fellow Time Lords, the newly regenerated Doctor (Jon Pertwee) begins his exile on 20th century Earth. His arrival coincides with a shower of strange meteorites, which are promptly investigated by the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce. Although his old friend Brigadier Alastair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart (Nicholas Courtney) is initially suspicious of the Doctor's new appearance and personality, he is forced to ask for his help when several of the meteorites go missing. The Doctor discovers that the meteor shower was in fact the first wave of an invasion by hostile alien intelligence the Nestene; phase two begins when the Autons - deadly plastic mannequins created by the Nestene agents on Earth - launch an attack on the unsuspecting public.

Celebrating what would have been the conductor's 100th birthday, Lady Valerie Solti hosts the Solti Centenary Concert held in Chicago on October 21, 2012. The World Orchestra for Peace, itself created by the conductor, perform excerpts from Mozart's 'Le Nozze di Figaro', 'Die Zauberflöte' and 'Don Giovanni', Verdi's 'La Traviata' and 'Rigoletto', Strauss' 'Don Juan' and Bartók's 'Concerto for Orchestra'. Soloists featured include Angela Gheorghiu and René Pape.
Adrien Brody and Lawrence Fishburne star in this sci-fi action sequel to the 1987 film 'Predator'. Produced by Robert Rodriguez, the film follows contract killer Royce (Brody) as he is abducted by alien creatures and released along with seven other professional killers onto a strange and hostile planet. Alejandro Jodorowsky writes and directs this late 1980s horror following circus performer Felix (Adan Jodorowsky/Axel Jodorowsky) whose traumatic childhood has left him mentally disturbed. As a boy, Felix witnessed his father cutting off the arms of his mother, Concha (Blanca Guerra), and he has since spent years in an asylum. Upon his return to the now deranged Concha, Felix has to do her bidding. This involves murdering every woman with whom he comes into contact. When Concha orders Felix to kill Alma (Sabrina Dennison), his childhood sweetheart, he attempts to resist.
Andris Nelsons leads the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in this 50th anniversary performance of Benjamin Britten's War Requiem. The piece was commissioned to mark the consecration of the new Coventry Cathedral, which was built after the original fourteenth-century structure was destroyed in a World War II bombing raid in 1940. 50 years after its premiere it returns to the cathedral to be performed, as it was on its first airing, by the the City of Birmingham Orchegstra, Chorus, and Youth Chorus. The featured vocalists are Erin Wall, Mark Padmore and Hanno Müller-Brachmann.
Five strangers find themselves trapped in a maze-like prison. Led by cop Quentin (Maurice Dean Wint) and expert jailbreaker Rennes (Wayne Robson) they move from room to room, discovering several traps along the way. Maths student Leaven (Nicole De Boer) ascertains that the numbers on each room reveal which is safe, but this does not prevent the death of Rennes. The group are then joined by the autistic Kazan (Andrew Miller), who also has a gift for numbers. It soon becomes clear that each of them possesses the peculiar skills necessary to escape their prison, if they don't wind up dead first.
