A collection of operas recorded live at the Vienna State Opera.
Riccardo Muti is the conductor for a 1999 performance of Mozart's
'Don Giovanni', with a cast including Franz-Joseph Selig, Michael
Schade, Adrianne Pieczonka, Carlos Álvarez, Angelika Kirchschlager,
Anna Caterina Antonacci and Lorenzo Regazzo. Thomas Hampson,
Christina Gallardo-Domas and Ferruccio Furlanetto head the cast of
Verdi's opera 'Simon Boccanegra', recorded in 2002 with Daniele
Gatti conducting. Finally, Philippe Jordan is the conductor for a
2005 performance of Massenet's opera 'Werther', featuring Marcelo
Álvarez, Elina Garanca, Adrian Eröd and Ileana Tonca.
Benjamin Britten's final opera, written between 1971-1973, recorded
at Teatro La Fenice in Venice in 2008. Bruno Bartoletti conducts,
while there are performances by Marlin Miller, Scott Hendricks and
Alessandro Riga.
Roberto Paternostro leads the Orchestra of the Teatro Colón in
Buenos Aires in an edited version of Wagner's 'Ring' cycle. Staged
in one day, the production was directed by Valentina Carrasco, who
has previously worked with the Catalan theatrical group 'La Fura
dels Baus'. The cast members include Linda Watson, Jukka
Rasilainen, Leonid Zakhozhaev and Andrew Shore. The set also
includes the documentary 'The Colón Ring - Wagner in Buenos Aires'.

Krumlov where it was first performed in 1768. Voytech Spurný leads
the period-instruments of the Schwarzenberg Court Orchestra, with

Poulenc's one-act opera for one character, based on Jean Cocteau's
1930 play. The story revolves around one woman speaking on the
telephone with her (invisible and inaudible) departing lover, who
is leaving her to marry another woman.
Richard Jones's production of Benjamin Britten's most popular opera
takes to the stage at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. John
Graham-Hall stars as the eponymous, impetuous fisherman in this
mysterious tale set in a small fishing village on England's east
coast in the 19th century. Robin Ticciati, principal conductor of
the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, takes the helm in his La Scala
opera debut.
Performance of Mariusz Trelinski's production of Tchaikovsky's
opera, recorded live at the Paleau de les Arts, Valencia, in 2011.
Kristine Opolais and Artur Rucinski lead the cast, with Omer Meir
Wellber conducting the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana.
Andrea Battistoni leads the Orchestra and Chorus of Teatro Regio di
Parma in this performance of Verdi's opera recorded live in 2012.
Cast members include Roberto Aronica, Yu Guanqun, Roberto Frontali
and Gabriele Mangione.
